I had a lot on my mind and I saw this book so I requested it and was granted the ARC copy. This book came right on time. What a wonderful assortment of prayers and bible verses for what ever you may feel you need to pray on or about. All of the prayers are wonderful. Not only are the prayers gracious, they also give one something to think about. I recommend this book for any and all that prays. It is a wonderful guide when words escape the prayer that we would like to go up to Our Heavenly Father. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This book is truly a blessing.

What an easy way to connect with God. You can just take it with you and even use it as a guide to say a prayer in time of need, for whatever circumstances. It could also be looked at as a stepping stone to open communication with God. I really like this book and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I would recommend this book most definitely as I think the one person we should all have a relationship with is God. What a lovely thing, to be able to connect with God. This certainly is a great read so go for it , you wont regret it.
Happy Reading

Prayers for an Anxious Heart Compiled by Barbour Staff is a book dedicated to women.
Worried women and christian women in search for an answer from God.
This book's approach is very direct. You will find for every topic that you will be interested to reflect in a verse and then a direct consideration expressed to God, written in first person. It's to me one of the most powerful and suggestive books published by Barbour, one of the most interesting ones and surely one of the more intense and felt.
You can't miss it, because it's a real balm for your soul and it will give you great comfort reassuring you but also helping you during this long trip that it is life.
I am not particularly enthusiastic for the cover. I would have picked up something less severe and more creative.
I thank NetGalley and Barbour for this book.

I really enjoyed and am still enjoying this book. Each chapter/prayer begins with a bible verse followed by a prayer based on that verse. The verses used are from a variety of translations which I love. The prayers are very calming and helpful for focusing on God and not the anxiety. These are great prompts for journaling or for launching deeper and more specific prayer.
I can see myself reaching for this book again and again when situations pop up or even when I just need a reminder that God is good, that He loves me and will see me through anything.

These prayer collections(there’s many of them!)published by Barbour, are really hard not to love.
If you are a Christian Woman then this neat little devotional is definitely for you.
Now, if you are not Christian or just need a pick me up to remind you of what’s really important- then the soothing words of this book is for you too.
“Just when I think I might have it all together, something happens to remind me that I am not in control.”(Prayers for an Anxious Heart, 2015)
The everyday stressful moments that seem to stunt our spiritual growth is real but having this powerful book with prayers in it is a great way to begin or end your day.
I think the beautiful factor of these books is that it offers biblical guidance without the need to bash you over the head with rules and structures on how to pray.
For instance, many of the “prayers” offered in the book are inspired by life and Scripture. Well, Scripture is life, but you get the drift.
You can take the prayers and tailor it to your life. Not repeat it word for word. But if you must repeat the prayers exactly, that is your choice too. Hey, it could strengthen your prayer life!
In sum, there is nothing bad to say about a neat book for women who face real troubles.
Five purple hearts!
