Description

The perfect summer escape?

Professional dog-walker Felicity Knight loves everything about New York…until her ex-husband starts working at her local vet clinic. She hasn’t seen Seth Carlyle in ten years, but one glimpse of him—too gorgeous, and still too good for her—and Fliss’s heart hurts like their whirlwind marriage ended yesterday. So when her grandmother in the Hamptons needs help for the summer, it seems the ideal way to escape her past.

Their relationship might have lasted only a few scorching months, but vet Seth knows Fliss—if she’s run away to the Hamptons, it’s because she still feels their connection and it terrifies her. He let her go once before, when he didn’t know any better, but not this summer! With the help of his adorable dog, Lulu, and a sprinkling of beachside magic, Seth is determined to make Fliss see that he’s never stopped loving her…

Sarah Morgan delights with more love and laughter in her acclaimed series From Manhattan with Love, which Publishers Weekly calls “engaging…[a] classic sweep-you-off-your-feet romantic experience.”

Don't miss Beach House Summer, the ultimate beach read by USA Today bestselling author Sarah Morgan!  One woman forges the most unlikely friendship of all, and embarks on a summer of confronting her past in order to build the future she wants.

I absolutely loved this. Fliss' struggle to overcome childhood issues and allow herself to love made me cry. I love strong, protective heroines and Fliss was wonderful. I'm so glad she found a wonderful man like Seth.

Felcity “Fliss” Knight needs to get out of New York. Like, yesterday! Her past is literally two doors down from her Manhattan apartment, so when her grandma calls telling her she had an emergency and requests Fliss’s twin sister Harriet come out to the Hampton for a few weeks to help her, Fliss pretends to be Harriet and jumps at the chance to literally escape her past.

Not gonna happen.

Seth Carlyle, Fliss’s past – as in her ex husband – is back home in the Hamptons and a chance meeting with Fliss ( under her Harriet disguise) has all those old feelings swirling in him. And in Fliss. Did she really think he wouldn’t recognize the love of his life? He goes along with her little subterfuge, but a series of events causes the truth to come out.

Fliss wants to put the past behind them, separately. Seth does, too, only he want to not only put the past away, but he wants a present and a future with his ex. Hoe he convinces Fliss to take a chance on them both is the crux of Holidays in the Hamptons.

Sarah Morgan has done it again. I read this book in a little under six hours because I could not put it down – nor did I want to. I simply had to find out of Seth could win Fliss over. Trust me, you’ll need to put aside an entire afternoon or evening to finish this book too, once you start it.
5 well deserved stars from me.

This is the first time I’ve read Sarah Morgan, but I love Holiday in the Hamptons so much that I am currently devouring her backlist. Seth Carlyle and Felicity Knight were childhood friends, who spent summers on the beach together in Sag Harbor, New York. As they grew older, romantic feelings developed, and they eloped when they were just 18-years old, but their marriage only lasted three months. They went their separate ways and never discussed their breakup, leaving both were wounded from the experience. They have not seen each other in ten years until both find themselves back in Sag Harbor.

Seth never stopped loving Felicity, and he wants to reconcile with her but knows they’ll need to go through the painful process of confronting what went wrong between them. Felicity is still profoundly affected by Seth, but she’s scared and reluctant to revisit the past. She resists his overtures at every turn, but he’s irresistible and determined and slowly regains her trust, which allows her to drop her defenses and open her heart. Their second-chance love story is emotional and authentic and left me smiling and fulfilled. There’s nothing not to love about Holiday in the Hamptons.
