This is a really good, straight forward no messing around guide to becoming a DJ, from the detailed diagrams of equipment you will be needing to use and a history of the beginning of DJ's you will learn a lot from this little book. From beat inducing sound to cutting, mixing and scratching your songs chosen, music is in your hands to do and create your way.

Beautifully illustrated, each page is alive with colour popping images and paragraphs of information which there is lots of and plenty to learn. Whether you prefer modern day laptop usb or old style comeback king vinyl, you will learn how to go from bedroom to dance floor and enchant the dance floor your way and even tips on demo producing and marketing yourself are included.

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

A very helpful guide for budding DJs, offering everything you need to know in 10 simple lessons. It starts off with the bare bones, such as the equipment and software that you will need, before moving on to the theory and tips. There is so much information packed into the book that I learned a lot from! I love the layout of this book, helpfully split into paragraphs that are easy to differentiate from each other, separated with headings and broken up by fun images. The only downside with regards to the layout is the rather minuscule font size which has been used for the main bulk of text throughout the book. Even zoomed in quite large on a PDF document, the font size is quite a strain on the eyes. On the whole though, this book contains a wealth of information and will be a great addition for the budding young DJ.

A very helpful and useful guide into the field of being a DJ. First the author begins with a quick history lesson for all of toughs who may not be up on the beginnings of the DJ. Then you are taken through equipment needed, how to set up, if there are any problems. Ways you should practice before you actually go out. Then goes into mixing and the equipment you can use and sometimes you already have. Also talks about going out with an experienced DJ first if possible as to help you see how things are set up and how someone who has been doing it for a while handles everything. Goes a little into what to charge, also discusses not scratching records until you practice with someone who can teach you for there is a right way and wrong to do it. Overall a very good book with a lot of information.

How fun is this book and a creative way to learn hot to be a DJ. Now I never thought this would be the type of book that I would be interested in but it was so much fun learning how to mix, scratch and blend. The book starts with the basics of what type of equipment and software is needed, how to set it up and problems that you may encounter.
I liked that the book is clearly set out and easy to follow, with colour popping out on each page. I like that this book is encouraging people to be creative. I have never seen a book like this before and I hope we see more coming from this author.
HIghly recommend this book.
