Chasing Eva

Chasing Eva is an intriguing, engaging start to a new series. Eva has taken over her father's design firm, S.F. Designs, after his death two months previous. She's trying to get her footing and things are screeching to a halt as someone is out to take her firm down by telling key details to her current clients and convincing them to sever their business associations with S.F. Designs. When she sees the CEO of one of her biggest clients in the elevator, Clive Stanton of Stanton Enterprises, she's intrigued by his gorgeous face, but she knows he's a playboy, and she's scarred by a past relationship, so she resists him at first.

But, as they end up working together when he decides to give her firm another chance to extend her contract until she can get things up to speed at her company, they fall into a sexy, somewhat emotional relationship. Clive and Eva had met before that chance meeting in the elevator. When they were in school and their fathers were cementing their new partnership, Eva and Clive met a few times at his father's home and Clive was struck by her even then and has always remembered her.

When Eva's enemy amps up the harassment, Clive uses his FBI contacts (he's former FBI and Special Forces) to try to protect her and figure out who's trying to take her company down, and falls in love with the beautiful woman who's been in his heart for years. Can Eva and Clive make a relationship work when he's got a manipulative, vengeful ex and Eva's got an enemy trying to take her company down? Does her uncle have something to do with her company's woes? Or is it her childhood friend, who seems to have beef with Clive? Or is it someone completely unknown to Eva?

I really hope all these questions are answered in the next installment. I'm dying to read it because I really like Chasing Eva. It's sexy and well-paced with a well-rounded cast of engaging, likable characters, especially Eva and Clive. Clive isn't the typical arrogant playboy billionaire of contemporary romances. He's kind and tenderhearted and ridiculously in love with Eva. Eva is strong and smart and just trying to do right by her father's company, a company she didn't even want to take over, and she has finally come to realize just how in love with Clive she is. "Clive was her anchor, her liberator, the only one who had gotten to her the way he had. She craved him. She obsessed over him, he was perfect for her, he was her Mr. Right. He cared for her, he lusted after her, he desired her, he loved her."

Add in intriguing characters like Eva's friends Ali and Izzy, Clive's brother Carter, Eva's potential new client, Marc Marino, plus the suspense and intrigue of the mystery surrounding Eva's company, I was on the edge of my seat just waiting to see how everything would play out with Eva, Clive and her company. Can't wait to read the next two books!

Fun light story...which was just what I needed after reading a few heavier things. A nice little escape from reality. This is book one of a series, and ends with a cliffhanger of sorts. Anxious to read book two to see how this story continues.

The blurb of this book had me intrigued from the start. I wasn't sure how I would feel about all the business talk but it added to the story in a way I never knew could happen. I usually get bored when reading that kind of stuff but everything else added into it just made this book awesome! This book had a wide stay of things going on including a kind of second chance romance, and so much more.

Clive was a total playboy, rich and alpha. All wrapped into one. I liked him for the most part, except when he wasn't honest with Ava. That got on my nerves a little bit and seemed like he was watching out for himself, but at the same time I can understand why he did it so. There is a lot more to Clive then meets the eye and you will quickly find that out.

Eva was a great heroine, strong but at the same time vulnerable at times. She was thrust into this business that she needed to salvage and that can be very stressful at times throughout the book. She faces a lot of things in this book but overcomes the hurtles as they come to her which was really great to see.

You can feel the sexual attraction from the start. The book it's very steamy and it really was good. At times I felt like the relationship took center stage in this book, instead of everything that was going on. It didn't make it horrible because I like romance heavy but at the same time it made you constantly question things.

Overall it was a good book. It makes you want the next book which will be Loving Eva.I am intrigued and I'm wondering what is going to happen next!

This was an engaging romance novel debut from Camellia Hart with well developed characters, plausible situations, and complicated history to navigate! Cannot wait for its sequel!

Loved this story and the characters. Clive and Eva were such interesting characters with their different personalities.

This is my first book by this author and I love it!! The romance was sweet and steamy between Eva and Clive. The story is a who done it shrouded in mystery with a cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happened and why.

This is my first book that I read from Camellia Hart. It has the right balance of sexy, heartfelt emotions and suspense. Eagerly awaiting the sequel to Chasing Eva.

When her father dies Eva takes over his interior design firm she devasted when clients begin dropping the firm when one of the largest clients drop her she is furious and goes to confront them.Clive is the head of Stanton Enterprises and a huge playboy when he see's Eva the attraction is immediate and he feels drawn to her.It works out that these two kinda know each other she was his first crush and his first kiss.This was a fantastic read I was hooked it is the first in the series and the first I have read by Camellia and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

Chasing Eva, by Camelia Hart, a new to me author that I hope to check out more books by. A very spicy read with a enjoyable storyline. Eva seems to have relationships with cheaters. When Clive who is a notorious playboy wants to get to know her better she doesn't want to trust him. But does the unexpected happen.

I enjoyed this debut novel by author Camellia Hart. A sexy, fun contemporary romance with a bit a mystery on the side. I look forward to reading the next installment in the series.

I really enjoyed this book it was filled to the brim with romance, suspense and drama. It was quick and easy to read, I'd say it is definitely worth a try.

When Eva and her friends run into to handsome Clive Stanton while gossiping about his sexy nude cover in a magazine, Eva can't stop staring, and neither can Clive.

Eva is clever, feisty and determined to make sure she succeeds at running her Dad's design firm. Eva is not in the mood for romance as the hurt of a disloyal boyfriend still stings. When Clive appears, Eva is hesitant as Clive is sexy (being former FBI definitely adds a little something extra) , filthy rich and if the tabloids are to be believed, one hell of a playboy.

I enjoyed the characters, the banter between Eva and her best friends, the brewing romance between Eva and Clive, and even the major question of who is out to destroy Eva's company.
The characters, plot and all the unanswered questions left me desperate to read the next book, "Loving Eva" as soon as I get a chance.

I read this book in less than 24 hours! For a debut author, Camellia Hart knocked this one out of the park. If you enjoyed reading the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day, then you will love this! The two main characters Eva and Clive, make an adorable couple and you can't help but love them. Actually, all the characters in this book are extremely likeable.

There is a small suspense/mystery aspect. This book didn't end in a cliffhanger, but there were a few loose ends which I assume will be addressed in the rest of the series. I can't wait to read the next one!

This was a pleasantly surprising read. I have never read anything by this author and I really enjoy this story. It was fun, sweet, and had a good dosage of suspense to it too. I was disappointed when it ended because I wanted to know more. So needless to say, I will be reading the next book.

So... the story is mainly about Eva and Clive.
Eva's father died and left her his interior design business. Even though she finished culinary school and has made a name for herself in the industry, she takes over the company to honor her father's wishes. What she doesn't know is that her father had contacted the FBI and her company is being investigated for fraud.
Clive owns the company next door and the book pretty much begins with Eva receiving a dismissal letter from them.
The attraction between Clive and Eva is instant, specially when he realizes he knows her from his childhood... but I won't tell you guys more not to spoil the story for you.

I liked both characters, they were both likable and portrayed in a mature way. The story was easy to read, fast paced, entertaining. The secondary characters were also fun to read and likable.
And that is just it really. It was a fun read with a good added suspense factor, there wasn't a great amount of depth to it, it is not a story I will still remember in two years time... all in all, a great late night read!

This book was fantastic. The author did a great job of creating the main characters and some of the supporting characters (Izzy and Ava, Marc & Carter). There are many twists in this book and the author has taken you on a journey to get the answers, however, there are not very many clues so that you can figure it out without reading the next books in the series. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

This is a wonderfully fun book to read. It is very well written and the story is very fantastic. Don't get it twisted. This is not your regular run of the mill billionaire guy meets girl story. OK, yes the hero is rich but he's not the snotty, throw it in your face kind of rich. The heroine also comes from money, so you see they are evenly matched.

The two knew each other when they were younger and the hero has been in love with her ever since. They re-connect as adults when she returns to take over her father's business after he passes away.

The two end up working together because their businesses are connected. Don't go into this thinking this is going to be a story of boy and girl reunite and fall in love. Because believe me it is not that easy. She doesn't just hand over her heart she makes him work for it.

This is a wonderful story with the twists of ex-girlfriends and an ex-boyfriend.

I am definitely recommending this to my friends to read.

This book was part romance, part mysetry, with just the right amount of sizzle. A good strong female character. It has your typical 'billionaire boyfriend' that is so popular is romance stories these days, but I think you'll find Clive is anything but 'typical' This was a good read and I kept wanting to keep reading. I can't wait for the second book of the series.

This author is tremendously good at building up characters and making them relatable. That makes the story move so well. I look forward to more!

This is a contemporary romance that I found fun to read. Overall I liked this book and the story line although I felt that Eva got a bit caught up in her parents mistakes / relationship and let that influence her too much. I really liked the history that the characters had from childhood. All the characters were deep enough to make me want to know more. I do wish it was more of a stand alone and that the series was tied into the friends but it does not look like that will / is the case. Would definitely recommend!

Evangeline(Eva) and Clive met years ago, although Eva doesn't remember, Clive does, and he really liked her at the time but she was pulled away twice while he was trying to get to know her. They meet up years later. He is a big CEO and so is she of her late fathers company. She was a chef but needed to takeover for her father.

Somewhere in between, her company is being investigated, there is someones spilling secrets, making clients weary of doing business with Eva's company. She is being followed, stalked, but Clive doesn't tell her. He is also ex military, and ex FBI. Anyway. The story is really good. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I liked reading and seeing Clive fall in love with her. He was considered a playboy, not staying with a girlfriend for more than a month. Clive may be my new book boyfriend. Now, I really need to read the next book 'Loving Eva". I definitely recommend this book!!!!!!

This is the first book of a triliogy and with that being said I am hooked. The characters of Eva and Clive are very well written. The storyline is awesome, except that cliffhanger ending!!! The writing style and storyline sucked me in. I am going to Amazon to order the second book right now!! Fantastic book!

I confess that I took this book without even reading the synopsis, just because of this cover. I really enjoyed the created mystery and the romance but honestly I am discouraged with cliffhanger books.
The main characters are very well built and I wanted a Clive to call mine, what a wonderful and passionate man.
Eva's friends are also great and Camellia Hart’s writing super dynamic.

Who doesn't dream of being with a successful, gorgeous, and rich man? Clive is all that and more. Eva is beautiful & smart and left her career as chef to take over her father's failing business. Clive falls hard for Eva, but she's seen all the pictures in magazines of him with the many, many incredible women and has heard all about his playboy image, so she's not exactly quick to trust him. I can't help but fall a little in love with Clive myself. Eva is also a very lovable and exciting character as she puts all of her intelligence into saving her father's business.
I think most readers will feel great emotion for Eva and Clive as well. This book is written for adults as there is sexual content.
I am giving a 4 **** star rating to this novel and give it high recommendations to those readers who enjoy a steamy romance.

It’s hard to resist a good second chance romance and Chasing Eva fits the bill perfectly! Great characters, compelling plot, and good supporting characters. It is a cliffhanger, which I’m usually not crazy about, but I have to admit I’m anxiously awaiting the next book!
