A story of a chance at love for a second time. Quincy Hannigan and Judson Rivers were friends in college and on the same pistol shooting team. Becoming teammates they also became friends and close friends when Judson stayed with her and helped her overcome a difficult time in her life. Afterwards she always looked at him differently and wished they could be a couple but he had a girlfriend. When in his third year of college his father dies suddenly he quiets school and joins the service. Shocked by his enlistment and his break up with his girlfriend, she finds out through her coach he has become a Seal. He writes her one letter, but when he is hurt severely by an IED she ends up with at the hospital along with the coach who is a retired Colonel. That is the last time she sees him until the funeral of the Colonel over a year later. Dealing with her own issues in her life she finds herself still attracted to him but realizes he has changed. This all changes one night when she gets a call and he is in the hospital for mixing pills and alcohol. It is after this that she decides to help him like he did for her back in college. This is where the story takes off and changes, and continues to evolve through there life. A beautiful story about togetherness and being there for the people you love. Also about family is not always about the family you have but the people in your life who are there for you always. A wonderful story.

Actual rating 3.75 Stars.

Finding Purpose is book one in the Colorado Veterans series, this is a lovely second chance romance. This is my first read by Tiffani Lynn and I really enjoyed it. I love friends to lovers stories and I was pleased with how this story wove together the past and present. Told from dual POV's, It gave us glimpses of how both characters were feeling towards their life struggles and feelings for one another.

Quinn and Judson become best friends while attending the same college. Judson always noticed her, but at the time he couldn't do anything then be her friend. While Quinn was going through a difficult time, Judson became the person Quinn could turn too and this cemented their friendship. They both are harboring secret feelings for one another, but neither act on it until the night before Judson leaves for basic training. Two souls become one that night, but it's only one night. Torn apart by distance, Quinn and Judson lose touch until almost ten years later. Quinn rushes to his side when he's injured while serving overseas, only he doesn't know. When their mentor dies they both are thrust together again. Will they both finally reveal their true feelings? Will Judson be able to move on from his injury? Can Quinn let go of Judson or will she continue to try to save him?

I felt the emotional and sexual tension throughout the story. I thought that Tiffani did a great job with the struggles that Judson was dealing with not being in the service anymore. For feeling like less of a man and his battle with his mind. I felt that Quinn took steps to make him see that he was worthy, even though he was a jerk. She was so patient, I personally would have give up numerous times with how he treated her. But she loved him and that was felt.

My reasoning behind my star rating is simple. She jumps ahead in the story with plot lines and then adds some more drama that I didn't think was necessary. I can't really explain without giving away spoilers.

Overall, this was a great read. I felt that it was a story about redemption, forgiveness and true love. The chemistry felt truthful and real. I felt the love between them and look forward to check out more in the series.
