I am a sucker for Caribbean adventures. This one took a little time pulling me in with back story, but there was never a shortage of drama, angst or need for both lead characters ace photographer Steven Quintana and huge movie star Julia Travers to prove themselves. Much more than that, to redeem themselves. They not only need to outgrow their pasts, their unhappiness with their present stations in life . . they reach to point where they must survive!
This fast paced novel will satisfy action/adventure lovers as well as those looking for a deeper meaning. These characters are well-defined and definitely evolve throughout the plot. The author deftly makes you care about their outcome.
It has all the hallmarks of the successful box office hit, a great potential for beautiful photography and classy heroic actors, a movie I would rush out to see!

It's amazing what you can learn about a person when you're covered in mud, running from men with guns, and stuck in small spaces with minimal clothing. Once, Steven Quintana was a top Army Ranger reconnaissance photographer. But, he made a fatal mistake on a mission that resulted in the death of a young boy, and his military career was cut short. And, all because of a photo he took! He now works as a paparazzi photographer, where he reasons his photos can't actually hurt anyone. The money is easy and he's trying to forget his past. Then, mega celebrity, Julia Travers, is kidnapped and the kidnappers use the pictures Steven took to cover up the crime. He comes to the horrifying realization that his pictures are still hurting people and swears to fix his mistake...Rambo style.
This was a fun, fast paced, suspenseful read that takes places in multiple locales. There's lots of action, witty dialog and dynamic characters. Bull manages to portray the love/hate relationship celebrities have with the paparazzi very well. The story is written from both Steven's and Julia's points of view and he manages to handle the transitions really well. Not all authors can transition between more than one point of view without it being confusing. Bull also manages to make the story come to life with the power of his descriptions. This was the first book I've read by this author but it will definitely not be the last!
