I was about ten pages in before I went to Amazon and ordered a copy for myself. It would make a great present. I love that it doesn't have the predated pages, so you can start it any time you want. If you're not so tied into convention, you could even skip weeks and's c start up again. I ordinarily wouldn't buy a book like this for the library, but I'm thinking that the ideas are so good and would be easily transferred. I would have to take out the stickers (too much time as a children's librarian to trust patrons with stickers), but it's such a good book that I might make an exception to my rule of not buying books whose sole purpose is to be written or drawn in for the library. I love the illustrations and they are simple enough that I could see kids relaxing and trying watercoloring for themselves (hopefully not in the library's copy). If I had any suggestions for change, I think I would like more blank space for people to do their own art. But even as I say that, I have to admit that a big part of what I like is that there aren't any huge, intimidating blank spots. I think I'll withdraw my previous objection.

This is an excellent book.

What a great planner! I have a digital copy from NetGalley to review, but I really want to buy a copy for myself. The weeks are all different and she has tons of prompts to get you moving.

See, I'm easily distracted and kind of lazy. If I don't have something telling me what to do to work toward my goals, I eventually quit moving at all.

Yup, that's it. I'm buying a copy of this. It will push me out of my comfort zone and get me trying new things. I am especially excited to play around with hand lettering.

Love this book. It's a great way to express yourself alittle each day.
Thanks to #NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. Got lots of good ideas. And can't wait to share with my creative friends.

Make Art Every Day, by Katie Vernon, is a prompting tool to help artists grow through one year in art. No matter where you are, beginner or advanced, this book will help guide you through a year’s worth of art ideas. It allows you to write down daily goals of what you want to do. It’s made personal by the sticker rewards it offers, making it fun.

Art should come out of a person’s creative desire, not from a forced, guilt-laden list of rules. This book makes it easy to ease into it. Every day if you like, once a week, or even once a month. It’s up to you how you use it.
The creative starters ideas are easy enough for the beginning artist, though even those advanced could gain some smart ideas. Overall, it is a fun way to expand your horizons in art.

This is such a good idea. Thanks to negalley for letting me look at this book. Now, I really want to get this book for myself because you really can't use it with the PDF option. Basically, you just get to check it out. There's a lot of great ideas in this book, even if you are beginner or expert. I love the prompts and the stickers, really cute. I wish there was a little more space so those of us who want to, can draw in some of our own things. Not a big deal though. Great book!

This is an excellent starter for getting your creative hobby going. There are weekly plans with prompts to get you working and experimenting. The idea is excellent, for so often this kind of hobby is forgotten due to the chaotic everyday schedules, when it just feels a bit too much to take out all your art supplies and to invent a project. With quick prompts it is easy to get into the process and regular training is what counts in drawing and painting.

I LOVE IT! I'm amazed, very, very amazed, and I swear I'm gonna get a copy when it's available. Although I don't really like the cover, the illustrations inside were absolutely gorgeous and the designed templates are exactly what I want and need right now. I've always wanted a journal that can guide me as I try to spark my creativity for my next art project, or simply allow me to relieve my stress and have fun with drawing. What a pleasant surprise! Thank you, dear author, for such an awesome piece of work.

Although great as a personal gift, the format of this book doesn't lend itself to a library setting well. However, that being said, if you have patrons who like to try before they buy, it might be just the thing. File with coloring books.

A creative way to turn a journal into a graphical expression of ourselves. Good instructions and good approach.

A good planner for artists and creative people. The stickers are cool. This planner might not work so well for people not creatively inclined.

A very cute book. The instructions and activities provided were clear and concise. I didn't need too much time to absorb what I read and just dove into the activities.

I couldn't use them much on my own works since the artworks aren't particularly my style but working on them with kids is so much fun.
