I love this book! It has sweet short devotionals that are at just the right length to give you a solid message but not take forever and a dictionary to get through.

I’ve always enjoyed reading “The Daily Bread” devotionals so I was very excited about getting to review this book since it was published by the same writers. I am really enjoying the daily lessons. They’re easy to read and there is a Bible verse for every lesson. While these lessons seem to be very simple, they really do have a lot of wisdom behind them. And they have the same feeling of encouragement that I remember from “The Daily Bread” devotionals. I’m finding that starting my day with the addition of a daily message from this devotional, in addition to my Bible study, really helps me to start my day off with a better perspective. I've been testing out this devotional for the last month. God Hears Her, brought to us by the folks at Our Daily Bread, is a daily breath of fresh air. The daily devotions include a bible verse and a short encouragement. This devotional is perfect for us busy moms with little time in the morning or for someone looking for a quick dose of mid-day encouragement. I loved this book of devotions for women, written by women. It is encouraging, inspiring, and comforting. Each daily reading begins with a Bible passage and is followed by a well-written, thoughtful devotion that applies the passage to our daily lives. It’s easy to begin reading this book, as you simply go to the current day to read, Each day’s reading has a specific purpose.: encouragement to keep going in hard times; admonition against sin; realizing that God hears our prayers and encourages us to pray; conquering fear; guarding your heart—the list goes on.

These devotions can be easily read within five minutes, just the right length to read first thing in the morning to set your thoughts on God for the day. I’m looking forward to reading through this book during the coming year in that way. This would also be a thoughtful gift for almost any occasion.

Encouragements for women

With "God Hears Her" Our Daily Bread Ministries presents 365 short devotions written for women by women. The daily devotions are short, easily read by the busy mom or professional woman. In the forword Elisa Morgan states that she hopes tht the readers will sense that God bends his ear to the reader's heart, that he hears and hears her, and that she can know that God hears her. "God hears her" is also the topic for the first devotions, tken from 1 Sam 1:9-20 where Hannah experienced that God heard her prayer for a child. The devotion for every day provides a Bible references, one verse taken from this reference, and some inspirational thoughts in relation to this Bible particular Bible reference.
I recommend this book to all women who need a spiritual boost or sóem encouragement in the midst of life's time schedules and challenges. I really appreciated that the devotional is dated and that the current day can be easily accessed in the Kindle version.

I really enjoy Our Daily bread Ministries that is why I was so interested in a book specialy for us women.
I'm very into devotionals, and I found it very enjoyable when they have several authors (so you can see a lot of different styles in writing, is like meeting a diferent person every day and try to understand whay they are going through and sometimes they get you. I Believe every woman can have a great time readingh this short lectures each day of the year.

I grew up with parents who read Our Daily Bread free quarterly devotion books and I knew them to be quick, meaty reads with Biblical references. I love God Hear Hers, it's the same quality of a quick read that will help a woman grow in her Christian faith I love that it's geared towards women and have a solid Bible teaching and verse reference. I am enjoying this devotional before bed each night.
I have a high school friend who loves Our daily Bread and I am planning on giving her this book for the new year and am excited to have a chance to give her one written to females.

The Daily Bread Ministries haven't ever been my favorite but I took a chance because I needed something to fill in. They are easy devotionals. Each starts with as verse then a devotional to go along with it. Easily done in 3-5 mins. I prefer more in-dept devotions but I guess if you just need a reminder Gods there.

Love this devotional! Each day it helps you through your day with a little more clarity. Great Devotional!

I am so glad i discovered this book on netgalley. This is the perfect devotional for busy people or anyone interested in learning more about God's word and maybe don't have the time or attention span for longer devotionals. It is worthwhile reading. I would encourage anyone to read this.

This book is a warm, yet short devotional book, that I found rather uninteresting, as it had a very generic feel for it. Also, it seemed to cater to those who are new to Christianity, even though nothing in the blurb indicated that to be true. For example, a sentence of "Have you trusted Jesus for your salvation?" seems to be a question that a seasoned Christian already has answered. There are more parts with the same feel, which makes me think that it should be targeted toward new Christians.

I love this devotional! More importantly, both my teenage daughters love it and are using it for their own personal devotions! I think this would make an excellent gift for a woman who needs to be encouraged that God does hear her!



It starts with a scripture passage, a featured verse, and then a short devotional, that is related in someway to the scripture. A small, beautifully designed hardcover book, it would be easy to carry with you on a business trip, to visit family, or a vacation, or to keep in your desk at work. My copy is on my bedside table for easy assess.



An excellent devotion for women, by women!

It is no secret that I love Bible Studies and Devotionals. There are so many to choose from that it would take me a lifetime to get through them which is perfect for me. This devotional caught my attention because of several reasons. I loved the cover and find that it is very inviting. The pocket size is perfect for me to take to doctor appointments because we all know that an appointment for the doctor is just a suggestion of when you will be seen. The last and most important reason I like this Devotional is because it speaks to my heart.

It is designed to be used each day for a year. In most books the author includes a forward which I always read. This one was really good as it prepares us for what is in store for us each day so I hope you take time to read it. Inside the book you will find personal stories and stories from the bible that relate to the topic of the day. I have started this book and have enjoyed every day with topics that are easy to apply to my life. I also like the suggestion of scriptures to read each day as well. The book has a permanent place on my table which I read every day. This would be a perfect gift to give someone to encourage them in the Word.

God Hears Her: 365 Devotions for Women by Women by Our Daily Bread Ministries is a lovely devotional for women. It has a beautiful hardcover with a page for each day of the year. It is a compact size at 6 ½” by 4 ½” which makes it easy to take with you (if you desire) and it fits nicely on top of my Bible. There is a foreword written by Elisa Morgan which I found enlightening. On each day there is a scripture passage, a short story (in a way) or verse, and then a short devotional that relates to the scripture passage. They are easy to read, and I found them encouraging. Each page is thought provoking, enlightening and positive. Reading each page is a great way to start or end a day (depending upon your schedule). It would also provide a nice pick-me-up in the middle of the day. I like that at the end there is information on the writers of God Hears Her. God Hears Her is especially beneficial for those new to the faith, but seasoned Christians will find new insights (I know I did). I am glad that I picked up God Hears Her as it is a wonderful addition to my daily devotions.

I have been reading Our Daily Bread devotionals for many years now so when I first heard of God Hears Her I knew I wanted to read it. These 365 daily devotions are written by women for women. I was encouraged and renewed as I read along. We can certainly know that when we pour our hearts out to God, He truly does hear us.
There are short bios in the back for each of the 19 women that contributed to this devotional. Though my children are adults now, the ones that pulled at me the most were the ones where small children and their faith stood firm. “A little child shall lead them.” One five year old loved church so much that he cried when he couldn’t attend. He would walk into children’s church and declare, “Let’s get this party started!” We should be as enthusiastic. A two year old wanted a cookie from the batch his mother was baking. She told him not until after supper. He cried and headed to his room. He returned shortly and informed his mother that Jesus said he could have a cookie. She told him, no he didn’t, to which he said, yes he did, you just weren’t listening. How many of us miss what God is trying to tell us because we aren’t listening? But we can certainly know that He does hear our cries to Him. This devotional is one that would be a blessing to any woman (or man) and also make a great gift for any occasion.

This is a great little devotional you can pick up in the morning, get into the word and reflect.
For each day there is a passage of scripture you can read. If you don’t have time for that you can always just read the verse that is there, but reading the passage takes you deeper.
Then you have a couple of paragraphs that you read and then are done. This is great for someone who doesn’t’ have a lot of time in the morning. You could even take this to work and do it when you have a free moment.
The cover itself is very pretty and will appeal to most women.

This one-year devotional book offers 365 one-page devotionals written by women who write for the daily devotional periodical Our Daily Bread. The entries are quick to read but present something to think about during the day. They each begin with a suggested Bible reading, which add to the accompanying message shared. The topics are ones anyone can relate to, such as relationships, spiritual growth, natural disasters, and a host of others we face regularly. The stories give honest glimpses into the lives of the writers, whose biographies are listed in the back of the book. Some daily readings are more personal, and others are written in third person about things in the world or Scriptural teachings. The book would be a great way to start or end the day or for a quick pick-me-up whenever you have a break. And if you get behind, it’s easy to catch up since they are short. Although it’s suggested for use by women, I think men would be blessed by it too. It could even be used read aloud as a family devotional for couples or those with older children. My Thoughts on God Hears Her:
We have used Our Daily Bread devotionals for years and I was excited to receive a copy of God Hears Her to review. It has not been disappointing at all. The personal stories are inspiring. The scriptures that are used are always inspiring and somehow just what I needed to hear.

Quotes throughout are inspiring and I find myself wanting to share them with everyone I know.

Do you need a gift for the women in your life? This is it. This is the gift that will keep on giving all year long because as long as she reads this daily she will daily have encouragement. I’m afraid I couldn’t wait to read this so I read multiple pages a day and it didn’t last me very long. But! The good thing about devotionals like this is that I can just restart when I finish no need to worry about the dates.

Highly recommend Our Daily Bread devotionals and specifically this book. You’re going to love it. This would also be great for teen girls as it’s just a devotional with no questionable content.

Daily, digestible nuggets of truth for women to ponder. Woman today are battered with so many competing voices, it is no wonder we have a hard time hearing our wonderful Savior whispering words of love, affirmation, and praise. This is put out by the Our Daily Bread Ministries. I've read their daily devotionals (in the small pamphlet form) for years, and I've always enjoyed them.

This is a nice little collection of devotions, written by women for women. It's encouraging and inspiring, and the entries are short enough to fit into a hectic schedule. Each day includes a Scripture verse, along with the message. It's a wonderful reminder that God hears our prayers, even when we think He's not listening. It's a year-long devotional book. I read an electronic copy, and I do prefer my devotional books in print. I'll have to look for this one (as it's a 2017 release), as it'd make a nice addition to read through again during my daily devotional time.

NICE ADDITION TO YOUR DAILY STUDY

If you are looking for something simple and thought provoking to add to your daily Bible reading, than this would be a nice companion. The words of each author are touching while the scripture readings challenge you to dig a little deeper.

I don’t typically add devotionals like this to my regular quiet times. I like challenging devotionals most of the time. Lately, I have had a lot of challenges in life and I needed something simpler to guide my readings. Each day felt like a little hug as I read the words these ladies put to paper for us. I knew most of the passages but the reminders where just right.

I really enjoyed reading this devotional. It is a compilation of daily devotions published by Our Daily Bread Ministries. It is 365 devotions written for women by women who can share in and understand our daily struggles and walk with the Lord. This devotional gives us a look at individual stories and scripture that shows us that God never leaves us, is always there for us and hears us when we call out.
It starts January 1 and goes until December 31 and is a perfect way to take five minutes out of our day to spend it quietly with our Lord.

This is an amazing devotional. I love that there is a devotional for every single day. It's important for mothers, and women in general, to have something they can read every single day, if they want. As a mother to four, I love having devotionals I can sit down with to refresh my mind and help my heart feel encouraged. Motherhood can really take it out of me, sometimes!

These daily devotionals have been great at giving me a little bit of God's Word every morning. I have been enjoying starting my day in the Word and these are quick to read. Even though they are quick to read, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I think these are written in an approachable manner that anybody can read them. I am a huge fan of Our Daily Bread devotionals so I am excited to continue reading more of them.

If you're familiar with the Our Daily Bread devotionals, you'll know what to expect with this. These are very short devotionals usually with just a few verses followed by a story that relates to the concept in the verses. These are by no means in-depth but are a great addition to your devotional time. This devotional would be great for someone who doesn't like to read a whole lot but is trying to start a devotional time or a mom with little ones who doesn't have a lot of time to give to devotions at this stage in her life. Also, if you're trying to do a Word before world time in the morning, these are quick, but give you a verse and thought to meditate on in the morning.

As I read this book, we are in week 4 of self-quarantine from Coronavirus. This book has been a God-send for me.

Here are a year's worth of devotionals that remind us that God cares for us - and it is prefaced with examples in the Bible where it specifically says that God SAW a woman and her plight.

We can be assured that He also sees us.

Each devotion is short and to the point. I found that reading one was not enough. With so much time on my hands, I kept reading. This will be a useful devotional for me for years to come.

At the same time, I have been reading the companion book. God Hears Her. My review of both books is nearly identical as both are well worth the read!
