Description
Virginia Tucker told herself
she was only going home for grandpa's funeral.
She isn't going home to
nurse a broken heart. She isn't going back to find a new job. She isn't going
home to find true love. She isn't doing any of that until she does.
Mark Seiman is the man she
shouldn't want. A grumpy widower with more scowls than sand on the beach, Will
working together at Sweet Blooms Café give them a chance to find happiness, or
are they doomed to stay in the weeds forever?

A Note From the Publisher
Dean was brought up by a single mother who emphasized Christian values, common sense and education. Due to the lack of money when he was growing up, he became an avid reader. After completing college, Dean traveled the world and used that common sense to promote himself in his field.
As a testament to the teachings of his mother, he now writes about relationships and Christian values. He wanted his mother to know; he was listening.

I found Sweet Blooms to be the right amounts of fun, romance, family relationships and drama. It was short and sweet, and perfect for a quick enjoyable evening read. I found the characters to be very likable, and by the middle of the book I was rooting for Victoria and Mark. This is certainly a recommend from me.

This was a cute short story. Unfortunately the third person didn't make way for me to connect with the characters. Because of the length of the book everything felt rushed.

Publisher synopsis: Two souls have come to Sweet Blooms to heal and find themselves. They’ll have to get past their pain to discover love also blooms in this sweet shop.
This book has a good amount of potential, but it really fell shy of the mark. The book itself is short, only 10 chapters long, and it is basic. There is almost no embellishment, almost no description of the characters, etc. They meet and hate each other, they decide later the day the meet to go on a date. They fall in love and kiss on this first date, barely 24 hours after meeting and not liking each other.... They spend a small amount of time together, like a week?, and then part for three months and then end up together after not speaking/talking that whole time. Weird. No character insights that amount to much. No slow simmer of the relationship. It could be so much more.
I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Short read!
Victoria has gone home, after losing her job. She is returning to her Grandma Rose, at Sweet Blooms. When she arrives home she meets widower Mark and things seem to going well, until she learns something about him that leads her to skip town.

A short sweet romance that sees a young woman, Victoria, return home to her grandma's love and grandpa's memory. There's also the widower who gets a second chance at love and happiness but the two have to work through their insecurities and misunderstanding to get there.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.
