Description
Second Chances Celebrates the "Year of the Woman" as Four Women Take Roads Less Traveled to Strive for What their Hearts Yearn For
Second Chances takes place in Manhattan and Westchester. It tells the intertwined stories of four very different women whose lives have fallen off the expected paths, and how they navigate the friendships, relationships and uphill journeys through their entangled "do-overs” in the game of life.
Danielle is a single mother with a newborn, recently deserted by her adulterous ex-husband, struggling with the isolation of motherhood and divorce when she meets Ted, an actual “nice guy” who opens her eyes to the possibility of happily ever after.
Michelle is a socialite from a wealthy suburb of Manhattan, who abandoned her family and fled to the Caribbean. But after months away, she has returned to reunite with her children, only to find that their forgiveness doesn’t come easily, and everything she thought she wanted no longer matters.
Sabrina is Danielle’s childhood best friend and a high-powered sales executive. She has a disconcerting fear of commitment and a questionable sense of judgment, particularly in the workplace. Danielle’s judgment has finally caught up with her and she has gotten into a devastating predicament that may cost her job and the one relationship she cares about.
Megan is the final character. She is Danielle’s former stepdaughter, a 15-year old from Rye who lives a privileged day-to-day life, but is plagued with a lecherous father and absentee mother. To escape her father for the summer, she gets a job babysitting for Danielle and is rewarded with an unexpected relationship with the most sought after boy in school, but she stands to lose everything by the wrath of her father when he learns he’s been deceived.
Although the women are each dealt cards they never expected, they find friendship, family and love in the least likely of places, and with those, they find hope.

Goodreads Review: 5 out of 5 stars
Although fictional, Second Chances continues to be very relatable.
By AJ
"Just as she did with her first book, Rachel Cullen continues to share and intertwine the stories of four women. And it was treat having her continue the development of a couple of characters from her first book while introducing us to a couple of new ones. It’s enjoyable how she is able to portray the trials and tribulations of each of these women as friends, wives, mothers, lovers, etc. You will gasp and laugh, and all the while imagining who in your life could be these characters - including yourself! Super easy and fun read. Looking forward to seeing what’s coming next from Rachel Cullen."
