A book of candid photographs taken in the US Capitol building, & surrounding Capitol/congressional/Senate office buildings....each accompanied by short explanations of what's taking/taken place, separated into chapters/sections labeled by 'feelings' that are sometimes elicited in that Capitol area....i.e. 'awe', 'terror', 'anger', 'joy'...... The book is quite a nice collection. Most are color photographs, only a few are black & white...they're all good! I enjoyed the candidness & the historical aspect of these photos.
I received this e-ARC from NetGalley & the publisher...simply in exchange for my own fair/honest review.

Under the Dome is a pictorial collection of important scenes and events at the United States Capitol. The book covers everything from serious moments to fun moments to sad moments. It also offers the readers a glimpse into the history and majesty of the building. I was interested to see which photos were familiar to me from either my visits to the Capitol or news coverage. I found myself flooded with memories and a range of emotions upon seeing these pictures. So, I find it interesting that the book is divided according to emotions commonly felt by people at the Capitol, some of which I could relate. People often say that a picture is worth a thousand words and this book, with the new perspective that it gives to such an important institution in our country, doesn’t disappoint.

I received an advance reading copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not obligated to write a positive review.

Have you ever wondered what the inside of the White House and other capital buildings in Washington DC looks like? Who the people are inside of these buildings? Or just what goes on inside of them? This is an amazing book of photos.

Jason Dick is giving a us a photo tour of the people, places, and things that go on in some of these buildings. He breaks the book down into chapters. The chapters are not by the building but of the things that happen including feelings. There are chapters on Boredom, Love, distraction, anger, terror and more.

There are pictures new and old. There are pictures of things visitors can see, there are pictures of past presidents and other elected officials and so much more. The pictures show some of the stunning fixtures in these buildings, amazing painted ceilings, statues, and so much more. There are short explanations of each picture.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.
