Moving Target, is a fast paced book. I couldn't put it down.

They say ignorance is bliss but not knowing would have gotten Kate killed. On the run for her life Kate gets lucky and ends up being rescued by the guy the cartels fear. Quinn has been living as a hermit since the death of his family he doesn’t want or need the distraction that Kate provides but he can’t just leave her stranded either. They end up being just what the other needs.
This is a sexy romantic suspense done as only Desiree Holt can do. This is an exciting, fast paced, adrenaline ride that is a guaranteed good read

This is a fast-paced read with loads of drama and suspense. Kathryn transforms into Kate as she is in the run for her life. She is rescued by Quinn when she has car trouble and sparks fly. I was hooked from beginning to end. Entertaining story and great characters. I really liked it.

Holt uses her smooth writing skill to tell how Kathryn Burke manages to elude those who are set to see her dead. A strong determined character almost at the end of her endurance, Kate, encounters Quinn on a dark road when her car breaks down. These two make an amazing team battling a cartel along with healing in each others arms. Predict this will be a great series to follow. Kathryn uses her father's keys to walk into the office and overhears her death by plotted by her boyfriend. She is completely shocked, which seems strange, since only two days before she began weaning herself off the little white pills that he'd been giving her because they impaired her thinking. Her thinking is spot on now, and she grabs the flash drive that she hears them say is loaded with enough information to bring her boyfriend and his boss down for the murders of her parents and uncle. She goes on the run, eventually calling herself Kate and taking refuge with Quinn.

When they meet, there is instant attraction and they quickly act on that. But for fans of intrigue and danger, never fear, because Holt delivers! Mistaken identities, kidnappings, murders, gunfire, near-fatal wounds...it's all here, and it's a mile-a-minute pace. There is more going on with the plot than I expected; it is quite involved.

This is the first in a new series. I presume this will feature women who need a place to hide from their troubles, and the different men of this story will be the ones to save them. Holt always writes an entertaining story, so I look forward to the next one.

A fast paced read with great characters and a gripping storyline. Moving Target is the first book in the Guardian Security series and it had me quickly engaged, I look forward to reading more and recommend you grab your copy as well.

Desiree Holt never fails to deliver and Moving Target is no exception. The first book in her new Guardian Security series, it’s fast paced, exciting and edge of your seat addictive.

Ms Holt’s world building is superb, and her characters are always strong and engaging. I’m looking forward to the next in this fabulous new series.

The charged tension begins on the first page and carries the reader through to the last.

I found the story compelling, wondering as I read what I would have done if the situation was mirrored. I don’t think I would have done half as well as Kate. Although, the chance of finding my very own Quinn, makes me wonder if it would be worth trying…

This is a wonderful book that begins with tension and bursts with romance. An excellently written novel with a great story-line and addictive characters. Definitely worth the purchase price as I believe I could read, and reread, this book again.

Wow! I wasn't sure about this book in the beginning, Kathryn seemed like one of those TSTL characters. I am glad to be wrong. She completely changed and became pretty awesome. Loved Quinn and the fast pace of this book. Great read.

Ms. Holt is an auto buy for me. I love her spine tingling suspense and sexy heroes and heroines.

After a couple of close brushes with the guys pursuing her she buys a second hand car for cash and sets off driving the Interstate 10 from California until her car gives up the ghost in the rain at the side of a deserted highway.


Unbeknownst to Kate she has come a full circle right into the back yard of the crime cartel who is hunting her. Fortunately, her guardian angel is working overtime and she's rescued by a dark knight called Quinn who is the only person with a remote chance at keeping her safe or...……

As Quinn mobilizes his contacts, the hunt for her intensifies particularly since she has stolen a USB containing confidential cartel records as her insurance. Betrayals, counter betrayals and surprises piling up on surprises will keep the readers engrossed until the story is brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

This story definitely emphasizes why I keep Ms. Holt on my must buy list.

Wow, just wow! Desiree Holt has done it again. This book will have you turning pages. I couldn't put it down until the last page. I loved Kate and everyone needs a Quinn. I can't say enough great things about this book.

I read this book in one sitting, which is one thing it's got going for it. But the writing was disjointed and awkward, and the main character was not likeable most of the time.

I found Kate to be whiny and annoying, and the every single chapter that took place in Peter's perspective for the first half of the book was the exact same thing just repeated. There is no reason to have dual perspective if one of the characters adds nothing to the plot.

As for the ARC, I found the editing to be pretty lackluster and I would definitely recommend removing most of Peter's chapters from the novel before publishing.

As for what got the book three stars, I think the premise was good but it just had bad execution. I LOVED that the bad guys worked for the cartel and the terms used, "federales" etc, were accurate. I really liked Quinns character but to be honest I would have been more interested in reading about Quinns story with his wife and him slaughtering that other cartel than reading the book I read. I thought the police in the book were portrayed pretty accurately as well. 

This book has its ups and downs but it was a pretty solid three stars. I dont think I'd recommend it though, and I dont know that I'd be interested in reading anything else by this author.

Desiree Holt is a new to me author and I'm pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. I got hooked on the plot, the action, and the sexiness. This is a quick read and once you start, you are not going to want to stop till you are finished.

Kathryn Burke is on the run from killers and she has no idea why. Kate Griffin has landed into the hands of a dark knight with a tortured past. Seeing his chance for redemption, Quinn must fight to expose the killer or risk history repeating itself.

The first book in the Guardian Security series is a thrilling story and Kate and Quinn are strong characters that easily draw readers in and hold them captive. The relationship is full of sizzling chemistry but also of dangerous obstacles which keep readers glued to the pages as they join Kathryn on her frantic cross-country transformation into Kate while on the run from killers and readers can’t help but fall for her the sexy and tortured knight that certainly didn’t count on falling for the girl.
Emotional turmoil has this couple fighting their attraction throughout which along with all the excitement of trying to stay alive and discovering just who the bad guys are guarantees that there is never a dull moment in this fast paced plot full of thrilling suspense, adrenaline pumping action and surprising twist that keeps readers guessing and wondering just who can they trust and who will come out on top.

Once again, Desiree Holt provides readers with a stirring romance that kept me on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait to read to read the next book in this exhilarating series.

This was a good book! You immediately feel for Kathryn and the upheaval she receives in the beginning of the book. Then you get to marvel at her ability to function when others would crumble. Then we meet Quinn, griff, no nonsense but kind Quinn. He wants nothing more that to go home and instead finds a cold, wet Kate.

Want to know what has Kate running? Want to know why Quinn has to help her that night. Read it! 🤓😁

Moving Target by Desiree Holt is a nail biter thriller. The actions starts right away and keeps up for most of the story. I loved the twists and surprises. Great characters that are complex and believable. I wouldn't call this a fun read but it is hot and a story that is hard to put down.

It was a good first book, but Kate was so whiny and needy and I just didn't like her. Plus Quinn fell a little too quick for what he went through in his past. The bad guys sure were everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. No idea which of his friends will be up next.

Another great read from Desiree and a fantastic start to a new series. This is an action-packed read with plenty of twists and turns throughout the book. It was a great book that was really well written it grabbed me right from the start and I did not want to stop reading. I would recommend it and cannot wait for the rest of the series
