This rom-com was a well-written, quick, entertaining read. It's a fast-paced erotic romance novella told in third person from Molly's perspective. A fun compilation of modern chick lit and erotic romance. I think if you read it expecting it to be all serious, you'll be disappointed. It's an entertaining, steamy erotic comedy. The genre is New Adult (but could also be considered contemporary romance), and there's a modern-day Cinderella/fairy tale retelling vibe to it with Molly's backstory, progressive transformation, and the men in her life. I wasn't sure what to expect as this author is new to me, but the narrative was smart, witty, and engaging.throughout the book. Molly was likable and easy to relate to.

The spicy chemistry between Evan and Molly was strong and held my interest from start to finish; this story had unexpected layers, and while things seem to be a certain way at the start of the book, Evan isn't what he appears to be. At all. The secondary characters were hilarious, and Jorge and Nell need their own book.

While the main relationship between with Evan and Molly is M/F, I enjoyed the diversity of all the characters, which included different nationalities, people of color, and also the LGBTQ community. It wasn't one-dimensional or cookie cutter, which I really appreciated as too white bread central can make for a boring, badly exclusive story. Props to the author for being inclusive and diverse. As a character, Molly was smart and focused. She's written as courageous and interesting, and there were parts in the book where the depth of the character's actions are revealed in her meeting with her life coach, and it added a lot of brevity to the story which I wasn't expecting for such a light-hearted, fun read.

Be aware that this book is Steamy with a capital "S". Lots of glorious, highly descriptive love scenes. There were no typos (that I saw), and the writing was grammatically clean. Actually, it has some of the best-written love scenes I've ever read (and is definitely a book for adults only). The intimate scenes worked well in tandem with the misconceptions and complications in Molly's life.

All in all, it was hot, original, and funny, but also deeper than I expected. I enjoyed reading the story from Molly's perspective, and I liked the element of mystery it added to Evan overall. It was smartly done and kept you guessing, which was refreshing. The ending was great and not at all what I expected. I want to read the author's other books after this. I'm intrigued. Highly recommend Flip the Beat for an enjoyable, quick, steamy bedtime read.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy to read and give my honest opinion.

This was one of those quirky romances that just grabs your heart. Flip the beat is a no holds barred toward a forever HEA, with a sexy rocker God with more than meets the eye goodness. Instead of portraying the guy as a total player, Evan Castle has sustenance as she gives him her virginity.

What did I like? Evan was an absolute hottie with all the bells and whistles. Molly gives him a precious gift and it overwhelms him which was lovely. The chemistry was super nova, and the storyline was fun.

Would I buy this book? Yes, loved it. Recommend it to any romance lovers.

Words for the author.... this was my first read from this author and I would definitely read more by her. Lovely story, aptly kept my attention all through my flights to Texas.

This was a really fun read. A romance between Evan and Molly has been simmering for some time. Evan is a gorgeous rockstar and a genuinely nice person. Six months ago she had given him her virginity which he treasures but even though it his feelings for her are obvious she refuses to get into a relationship with him because of all the groupies around him.

Enter Jean-Luc who makes her an offer she can't refuse, he is a life coach and offers to help her for free. Molly has been offered a job in Paris and needs to brush up on her French. Jean-Luc recommends Evan (without knowing that Molly and Evan have already met) to tutor her.

I think that this story is really about growing and learning to trust, gaining confidence in yourself and not being afraid to follow your heart. Molly had formed an impression of Evan at the outset which she felt was reinforced when she saw him with the groupies and it was really hard for her to realise that Evan was nothing like the person she had imagined. Once she started to trust and believe in him she was able to accept that she was deserving of all the love he had for her.

I really recommend this book, the author is new to me but I would love to read more from her.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a fun little novella. Molly is about to graduate and head off to Paris for her dream job but before she leaves she is looking for her perfect man and with the help of her friend and neighbor Evan who she lost her virginity to she sets out to find him. This was a great modern day Cinderella with a great twist I really really enjoyed it

A quick rom-com!

Molly's not looking for a relationship because after school, she's going to Paris to work at her dream job. But when she meets Evan, she may have to re-think her dreams.

This is a quick read that is cute and the steamy scenes are ... well ... WOW! I only wish that it would have been longer and gotten more into Evan and his being a rock star.

I received a copy courtesy of Backlit PR through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
