Advance Praise

"Lisa Luckett brings an unsparing eye, an open heart, and a survivor's resilience to this deeply personal account of losing her young husband, Ted, on 9/11, and suddenly confronting single parenthood to three children. The aftermath of the worst terrorist attack in modern American history forces her to reckon with long-buried family secrets and the ancestral ghosts who haunted her childhood. What emerges is a master class in self-discovery, acceptance, and the power of love."

-- Kevin Ryan, author of Almost Home: Helping Kids Move from Homelessness to Hope

"Lisa Luckett is a living example that life itself is the most magnificent teacher. Life transformation is available for everyone, even from the darkest hour of our lives. A truly remarkable book of hope and empowerment at a time when humanity, person by person, needs to heal emotional wounds and free ourselves of the numbing grip of fear and move forward into lives of love, joy, and abundance. Lisa says it´s easy. Just be kind and let kindness be."

-- Trude Dybendahl, Olympic medalist, author, speaker, and life coach, Norway

"This book captures the roller coaster ride of emotions when enduring a traumatic loss. Lisa Luckett takes us on a journey of shock, confusion, pain, and creativity into the light. Her honesty, authenticity, and tenacity are expressed and readers will certainly find a piece of themselves in this book. Most importantly, everyone will find answers for the aches they encounter along the journey of life. This book is brilliant, powerful, and spot on! A must read!"

-- Sister Jenna, Director, Brahma Kamaris, Washington, DC, Host of American Meditating Radio

"This beautifully written book provides the reader and the greater world with vital information to consider related to how one heals the space within oneself--even in the horrific space of trauma, disaster, terrorism, and death. This book showcases the strength we all have hiding beneath our fears and worst nightmares. Lisa Luckett has provided the world with a great gift--to remember that no matter what is going on in our external world--we are never alone. Ultimately--that we are here to help one another with our compassion, our love, and our kindness. This book made me cry, laugh-out-loud and truly reflect on the beauty of humanity and the real meaning of life by remembering that life is the greatest gift and miracle we are all able to share with one another and that love and kindness is, in fact, the light that heals us from the inside out."

-- Paul Luftenegger, International singer/songwriter/composer, Faith, Miracle of You, Love Expanding Love, and other albums.

"Lisa Luckett faced down the perfect storm and every woman's idea of hell--losing her husband in 9/11, raising three small children alone, a breast cancer diagnosis, and challenging family factors. The Light in 9/11 is a story of a brave woman who found the strength to carry on and allow the light in these challenges--the silver lining--to shine through and enrich her life, and her children's lives. This book is an inspiration to anyone needing an example of how to rise above their hardships and find their personal power."
