Description

From USA Today Bestselling Author Magda Alexander comes a sensuous tale of love, betrayal, and second chances.

Most Valuable Party Boy

After a wild party brings the wrong kind of notoriety to quarterback Brock Parker, his team trades him to the Chicago Outlaws--as backup. At this point, he’ll never make the hall of fame. Brock’s one consolation is beautiful, hot Ellie Adams. His new sports agent, his high school tutor. The girl who got away.

Most Straitlaced Stick in the Mud

As a teenager, whip smart Eleanor Adams had fallen for Brock with disastrous consequences. But she’d picked herself up, dusted him off, and moved on. Now a sports agent, she won’t risk her chance at success. Least of all, to the playboy jock who almost ruined her life.

Most Notorious Scandal

But when another scandal threatens Brock’s spot on the team, Ellie moves in with him to save his career. Big mistake. Because she still has the hots for him. And the league’s most notorious bad boy hasn't lost the knack of getting under her skirt.

A smokin’ hot, STANDALONE, FULL-LENGTH novel with a guaranteed HEA.

My first read by Magda Alexander was fun & very hot. I enjoyed this book a lot, it was funny, extremely hot & very sweet at times. With Brock & Ellie you got secrets, a past history & 2 people truly trying to become the best in what they do. For Brock that’s being a professional quarterback who was crucified because of another players actions & now having to deal with another trade. Ellie is climbing the ranks as a sports agent, a field few women get far in. For the 2 of them together they have a history & a secret Ellie never wants Brock to know but secrets are usually found out at inopportune times. I love how author Magda Alexander brought the humour in with the embarrassing move fiasco that puts Ellie even more in the line of fire with Brock. Brock & Ellie when together were combustible even when they weren’t tearing each other’s clothes off. With another scandal looming over Brock, he & Ellie do the only thing possible to keep both their jobs.I loved Butch, Brock’s beloved dog & how easily he latches on to Ellie & Kaylee. I also loved the way Kaylee went to such lengths to get 2 stubborn people to realize how much they love each other. I wish I would’ve read book 1 first but it didn’t really make a difference, I will definitely be reading that book. Definitely recommend.

In high school Elle and Brock were nothing more than tutor and student, at least that is how Elle saw it, but from Brock's point of view things had a far different feel, one that lead him to believe they were friends, and maybe more. Elle cared for him, often fantasized about being the girl to capture his full attention, but he was too busy playing football to notice, or so she thought! Through the years they have thought about one another and their secret little one time affair, but it has always ended with both of them tucking those memories away for safe keeping... but that is all about to change now. The game he loves is about to reunite them all over again... and this time he is making sure she knows just how he feels!

Within minutes of cracking the cover on Roughing the Player I felt it take command of my attention, start to monopolize my thoughts, and from there I knew there was no letting go until I had devoured every little word... and boy was it satisfying! This first time read held many surprises, upon first glance I thought it was going to be a light and super sexy read, but I found it to be so much more than that, the story line had emotional depth that really sank it's claws into my heart, and brought on a serious case of the feels; the kind that leave a mark! The characters were flawlessly crafted; each coming with a realistic quality that made it easy to fall and feel for them, and each one with a unique personality that made them unforgettable. I have to say this is one of the most impressive first time reads I have settled down with this year, it has not only provided me with a few hours of pure enjoyment, but also introduced me to an author I am sure I will be watching closely from now on! Highly recommend this one, the heartfelt story line is sure to score some serious points with sports romance readers, and leave them wanting more!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This is book 2 in a series and it was a brand new author me. It was beyond terrific. It had some really terrific plot points that made it a wondeerful story. I don't want to discuss the plot too much because you will want to read about it yourself.

It easily stands alone and is a 2nd chance at love sttory with two 30 year olds who dated at 18 until Ellie moved away at age 18. The story opens when Brock is traded from sunny san diego to frosty Chicago and is told he will get picked up at the airport by Ellie. Ellie remembers Brock very well, and she is now a junior sports agent and he is her new assignment.

Brock is a kinky playboy quarterback and he is traded because of his bad rep and so its Ellie's job to clean it up. Meanwhile Brock wants her back and so he works hard to get her to give him a shot. Ellie has some bg secrets and it was wonderful when they start unraveling.

This was an interesting story. I really liked Brock's character. He was funny and sweet and real. I found Ellie to be very annoying at times and overly stubborn. I would like to read more from this author.

Roughing the player is sort of a second chance romance...jock falls for nerd book. Brock was a major ladies man in high school. He was a star athlete, rich, and handsome. Ellie is a good girl she is straight As and knows what she wants to do. One night changes everything and they go their separate ways.

Of course as adults they come together once more now they are adults. They will be working close to one another falling once more like they did as kids. However Ellie has a secret. Will they survive the scandals and road blocks that keep popping up in their way?

A great story of past lovers meeting up together and discovering neither ever lost their love. Whilst there is a major secret between them this story lives in the ideal that love conquers all. A truly enjoyable read. Highly recommend.

This is a sports story quite different from most others, it is one with heart. There is wry and witty, humorous banter, a smart and engaging dialog, and of course a romance that is endearing. There s a smooth flow from the onset, as it carries you through the story, you’ll find yourself immersed in Brock and Ellie’s lives...not to forget Kylie and Butch, not anywhere near just secondary characters, but a part of the whole that makes this an engaging, heartwarming read.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Ellie is smart and your average-looking teenage girl who falls for the handsome football quarterback, Brock, when they were in high school. She moved away and that was that....Until....Fast forward to present day and Ellie is a sports agent and Brock has been traded to Chicago. Her agency represents him and she's assigned to "babysit" Brock and make sure he keeps a clean image. Most couples aren't given a second chance and Ellie fights with all her heart to remain professional and not get involved with Brock. The fun is seeing how they work things out.

This story was emotional and realistic. Issues are addresses and resolved realistically. Some parts made me laugh or smile and others made me cry, but an enjoyable book-something that I haven't experienced in a while. So glad I picked this up. Will look for more books by Ms Alexander and future Outlaw stories.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Brock has no modesty, “this is my place, and I’ll walk around any da*n way I please.” Brock knows how to compromise, “we’ll order room service, and I’ll feed you in bed.” I liked this book, I loved Brock.

This was a very enjoyable book! I thought the characters were likeable and it was a quick and easy read. It's quite steamy, just FYI.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy.
