What a great refreshing love story of two Christian people. To say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book would be an understatement. Once I started it I did not want to put it down. I just wanted to keep on reading about Kelly and Denny.

Kelly has been asked by her producer to come to his hometown and experience a Cajun Christmas so that she will be more educated when she is writing about it. Kelly decides that she will do it. Her father passed away the previous spring and it will be her first Christmas without both her mom and dad. As soon as Kelly lands in Cajun land though, she wonders what in the world she has agreed to.

When Denny and his sweet ten year old daughter show up to pick Kelly up at the airport because Denny's brother (Kelly's producer) has been called away to a family emergency, they had no idea who they were picking up really. Boy were they in for a treat and vice versa for Kelly. They all hit it off big time and it was like they had known each other for awhile. Denny helps Kelly get settled in at his mother's house where she will be staying and tells her that he lives just next door if she ever needs a place to get away from his mother.

Kelly is treated with the utmost hospitality anyone could ask for. Never does Kelly have to worry about not being with family this Christmas because these people have adopted her and accepted her into their family with no problem. I love how this whole story was based around Christian values. That made me want to read more and for the story of Kelly and Denny to never end. Marian Merritt did such a great job with this story. The only problem with it was that it was too short. Lol. I can't wait to read more from Marian Merritt!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all the opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for a copy of this book to read.

Kelly, after the death of her father, wants to go somewhere different for Christmas. Leaving Colorado, and going to Louisiana fits the bill. As a journalist, she is sent to write a story about a Cajun Christmas. Meeting Denny and his sweet 10 year old daughter was a bonus. Sparks fly, and both enjoy a sweet and touching holiday season. Really enjoyed this one, although the going from like to love to marry went a little fast. Other than that, highly recommend this book.

This book was so easy and fun to read; there were not any heavy themes or ideas that didn't go with the season feel of this book and the overarching story. Overall, the story is really sweet. I loved that it was set in The South; I grew up in The South and Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, so this one felt right up my alley. I can't wait for this Christmas to come around so I can re-read this one and get into the holiday spirit.

I just finished this book and I don't really know what to think about it.
I liked the different characters present. They were endearing.
I liked the fact that this book reminds us of what Christmas is all about: Spending time with your family, God, and food.
However, despite all that, I am not sure that I will remember the story in a few weeks.
