4.5 stars for Claire Allan's Forget Me Not!

Told from alternating viewpoints, Forget Me Not is the story of 67-year-old Elizabeth and 41-year-old Rachel. Elizabeth is out walking her dog one day when she makes a horrifying discovery - the body of a young woman, Clare. Stunned and shocked, she stays with Clare while awaiting the police, and hears Clare utter her last words: "warn them". Elizabeth has no idea who she is to warn, but one thing is certain - she has stumbled upon something very, very sinister.

Rachel is Clare's best friend, though caught up in their own lives, they've recently drifted just a bit. However, the news of Clare's death horrifies Rachel, and she quickly becomes wrapped up in the violence of it all. Who would do such a terrible crime? Everyone loved Clare. When she starts receiving threats herself, she realizes that this crime was not random, and that she may be more involved than she ever realized..

I read a lot of thrillers, but this was one of the best I've read in a hot minute. Allan's writing continues to mature from her first novel, and I cannot say enough just how much I enjoyed this read. I thought I had the ending figured out, and the twist actually threw me - something that is a rarity in the oversaturated field of thrillers these days. Highly recommend to others enjoying thrillers and suspense, and looking forward to more of Allan's work in the future!

Special thanks to Netgalley and publisher for an electronic ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This is a tight and twisted thriller with a killer opening section that hooked me in immediately. The main characters - Rachel, Clare and Elizabeth - are clearly linked and I was desperate to work out why, but Allan's writing kept me guessing.
I love the title - Forget Me Not - and that it links with the flowers that recur in the story. A great read, thank you to Netgalley!
