100% Unofficial Fortnite Essential Guide

This review was given by my 10 year old son! This book is ‘sick’, it has great tips and I loved it!

From my point of view any book that gets him to read has a big thumbs up and fortnite is the craze of the moment and this was perfect for him. Would buy this in paperback for him for sure.

When I told my son that I had the chance to read and review this book he said you can't read it you know nothing about Fortnite. So this is his review.
This is great and I really can't wait till it comes out in paper copy and I so excited that I got to read it before my friends lol. Its full of great content for those that are just beginners or those that have been playing for some time. Ive been playing for a while now and learnt some new things reading this. So I give it top marks and will make my mum buy me my own copy and recommend it to my friends. Max aged 11 yrs

My 13 year old son and 19 year old daughter who both play Fortnite on Xbox and PC read the book and are providing this review. They both agree that if you are new to Fortnite this is a great book, with lots of tips and tricks they would have loved to know when they first began playing. As more experienced players, they didn't learn as much from this book as a new player would. Publisher provided a copy of this book for an honest review.

I requested this book on behalf of my partner, as he is an avid fortnite player and a semi-professional at it. He knows a lot about the game and was eager to read the information given to new and young players.

He thought the advice in the book was very useful and would help players with the basics of the game. He is a little bit upset that it didn’t go much further than that, but for a new/young player this is perfect for learning the ropes and finding your feet in the Fortnite universe!

All in all, it was a quick, simple read that you can flick back to whenever you need help with something or a quick tip. Very helpful for beginners!

This game has become very popular among our young patrons at our library. Every player that participates in this game has asked us countless times if we had any extra tips and tricks to help them with their game and now we have an answer for them. The only thing I am questioning is the word unofficial. Unofficial usually means that the source is not an associate with the game's creator/manufacturer and we are afraid patrons will not want to read this book and follow it because of that. Despite that however, the photos and explanation of tips are very informative and they give great explanations on how to conquer and win Fort Nite.

We will consider adding this title to our gaming section in our JNon-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 4 stars.

My kids loved that I got this book from NetGalley! Just like most kids all over the world they are completely obsessed with Fortnite, so this book made me an even bigger hero to them. It must be helpful bc they read it and applied some of what they learned to their gameplay today, so they give it 5 stars!

My boys are huge Fortnite fans and they live this guide. My youngest swears he’s a Fortnite Master but even he gets plenty of use from this guide.

So I hopped on to the Fortnite bandwagon, to find out what everyone was talking about, but had no idea what I was doing. After reading this book I feel much more confident to try again.
This guide explains some of the basic premises of the game including map locations, lockers, passes, and challenges, looting and strategy.
Great resource for the newbie.

Quite a useful guide for those wanting to start playing the game of Fortnite in Battle Royale mode.

Covers all the different controllers you can use with button info (xbox, ps4, pc & mobile). However the switch is mentioned but not what button does.what.

Included is.the map, of the game with its locations shown and at the time of writing this, one area of the map online is covered in snow. Not sure if this is a permanent feature or just because its winter. It also explains.the lobby (before you launch the game) and the screen whilst in the game.

The book explains the different weapon types available, how to build and where to get resources, movement fundamentals and combat strategies. For parents there is a one page guide that includes information on ingame purchases and chat.

I think.there are a few things missing from.the.guide: you can come across vending machines which allow you to swap resources for weapons and you can fly.planes or drive buggies. I also think I've seen the kids play additional types of games together, where they battle for the highest score over a certain number of minutes and keep regenerating until the time runs out.

Overall its a good.book for getting started, but it may e out of date quickly if Fortnite add new bits and you don't have to have an epic account, though if you play across multiple platforms it might be a good idea.

Even though I play Fortnite quite often, there were still things in here that I didn't know. Everything is elaborately explained and accompanied with pictures to make everything more clear. Furthermore, there were some disclaimers in this book of which I think they are very important. That is, they state that this book won't instantly make you a Victory Royale, but that you have to practice a lot. The only con that I experienced was the map. The map changes every new season and, if I'm right, it's already obsolete.

This book is an excellent beginner's guide to the craze that is Fortnite! It's very thorough, detailed and easy to follow. It features short paragraphs to read (similar to articles in magazines), bright colourful images and screenshots from the game and insider tips and tricks to help the player get the most out of this game.

My 13 year old son read through it with me and he agreed it was right on the mark for a beginner, but for someone more advanced in the game (read: obsessed and glued to the PS4 remote for hours at a time!) it didn't have as much use. He also mentioned that the map screenshots were outdated and that new areas had been added and some things had been moved since the book was printed. This would be easy to update in a future edition, just to make sure that readers are always getting the best info available.

Excellent book for 7-15 year olds who are just getting into the Fortnite world.

This book is a quick and easy guide to the popular game, Fornite. I have been playing fornite for quite sometime and I learned even more about my favorite game from this book! I highly recommend you check it out.

Fortnite came out of nowhere and took our children. If you want to know more about the game, this book is for you. It has bright pictures and clear text. My 12-year-old tester thought the book would be good for a beginner but said that he ‘already knows everything’. There is one useful page of advice for parents but overall, I think the book is best for those whose only chance of spending time with their kids is to get down with them. Read this book and you can play Fortnite too.

So you are not an early adopter (or you have been hiding under a rock) and are just now trying to join the Fortnite craze. The 100% Unofficial Fortnite Essential Guide will catch you up to speed quicker than just learning by playing (like all those first players had to do).

The guide begins with which console is best and continues with comprehensive instructions on controls, movement, combat, looting, building materials, and weapons. All instructions includes copious amounts of picures making this a good guide for kids. The only negative is the maps change frequently so the ones in the books will probably not be of much use. However, the Guide is still recommended to noobs of all ages. 4 stars!
