Kellen Brand's inheritance turns out to be a whopper--one dilapidated farm in West Virginia and one guardian angel!

Since Kellen is convinced no sane woman would choose to live in Riverside, she vows to sell her farm and quick. Her handsome neighbor Luke Kenyon must block the farm sale or risk exposure of his family's secrets. While Kellen has located one potential buyer, she faces a town full of objectors. Someone is trying to frighten her off, and Luke is forced to step in and rescue her more than once.

Unfortunately, Kellen can't seem to stay out of trouble. She stumbles onto a clandestine hazardous-waste-dumping operation next to her farm, and she prays Luke has one more rescue up his sleeve. It's her only hope of staying alive.

After her Mothers' death, Kellen Brand returns to the homestead in Riverside, West Virginia where she and her bother Joey grew up. Her Mother left the homestead to Kellen and her brother and instructions to do what they wished with it.

Memories are good and very bad and Kellen has decided that the best thing to do is sell to the developer who has shown interest in the homestead. After meeting with the Attorney, Kellen decides to stay at the homestead to clear it out in readiness for the sale. What she didn't expect was the gorgeous cowboy who heats up not only her body, but her temper as well.

Luke Thornton visits his Grandfathers' ranch to check on it as well as his Father and upon meeting Kellen, he has found he doesn't wish to return to New York quite as often as he does to run his business empire.

But something is amiss at the homestead and with a crooked Sherriff and something fishy going on at the boathouse and mill, Luke is finding it hard to make sure Kellen is safe and with her childhood friend David in the picture Luke is questioning whether Kellen will ever be a permanent part of his life.

This is a sweet read with some mystery and mayhem as well.

No Cowboys No Angels is a story filled with mystery, painful memories, embattled relationships, and new hope. The book contains many twists and turns, while incorporating steady pace, good world building and well developed characters too.

Luke and Kellan come from very different backgrounds and struggle with the rocky start to their romance. I kept my faith that they would eventually conquer the obstacles of miscommunication and unprecedented circumstances to find their HEA. I hope other readers enjoy their story as much as I did.

Kellen goes to her old family place, intent on selling the place, but her neighbor Luke has other ideas. A good mystery and romance, and must admit the identity of the angels was unexpected. Overall a good story, but at times a little confusing trying to keep it all straight. Might just be me, otherwise one I highly recommend.

Well written romantic suspense. I enjoyed the plot and the author’s writing. I look forward to reading more books in this series. I received an arc from Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

When Kellen’s mother died and left her and her brother the run-down farm in West Virginia, the last place Kellen wanted to be is back where she was ridiculed for being poor, her hometown. But off she goes to clean it up and sell it to a uber-rich developer. But the longer she’s in town, the less her childhood memories haunt her. She reconnects with friends and meets handsome cowboy Luke Kenyon, a man who comes to her rescue more than once.

Luke is drawn to Kellen for reasons unknown to him. She’s a spitfire and makes him lose his temper at the slightest provocation. But he tells himself he won’t wind up alone and bitter, like his father. But circumstances throw him and Kellen together, and when her life is threatened, he acts. Can he let down his walls and let love in or will he continue to be stubborn like a mule?

Wow! What a gripping and emotional romantic suspense. Petie McCarty weaves a romance between two strong personalities with plenty of chemistry between them to light the whole county on fire. The dialogue made me laugh as well as cry. Emotions run high in this story and there’s many layers too. It’s about coming home, dealing with childhood bullies and letting go of the past. It’s about forgiveness, trusting in love and choosing your destiny. Trying to figure out who the guardian angel may be was a bonus. A must read, especially for romantic suspense fans. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Favorite Character/Quote: Luke. I found him to be mysterious yet every woman’s book boyfriend. He’s got layers and his protective streak comes out in weird ways whenever Kellen is near.
