A teen-aged boy has been murdered and Byron Mason's nephew, Phillip, is one of the suspects. The victim was the nephew of a man that Byron has a history with and now Phillip is missing.

Byron reaches out to another ex-Marine he served with, Adam Sterling, to track down Byron's nephew and the real killers.

This is the debut thriller of this author's and it starts out with violence and it only gets worse. It's raw and gritty, as the language is, and action-packed from start to finish. It's a dual story line featuring hard-boiled characters .... soldiers, a boy from Africa, and a DCI who wants/needs to justify her job.

Many thanks to the author / Sapere Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this hard-boiled thriller. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Brotherhood is the first book in the Mason & Sterling series by David Beckler and this is certainly an action packed thriller. Not for the faint hearted, there is plenty of violence and raw language as would be expected from these gritty characters. The action never lets up all the way to the end making this book a real page-turner. Recommended.
