Description

All her life, Rachel Winchester has fought against the idea that she was nothing but white trash destined for Loserville. Now, it seems all that fighting was for nothing. Sure, she's running a successful B&B and, yes, she finally had her way with a man she's crushed on for forever—Harris McCallister, the guy she's flirted with for years; the guy she's thought about and pined for. She's finally feeling good about the future when—bam—she gets pregnant. True or not, in her world, nothing says white trash more than an unmarried pregnant woman. Worse, her "loving" mother is threatening her over the B&B and the property it sits on, all because of a silly legend about a pirate's buried treasure.

Harris doesn't know what it is about Rachel, but he's always been drawn to her. With her brightly dyed hair and sexy-as-hell tattooed body, she's impossible to ignore—and drives him crazy in all the best ways. Finding out she's carrying his baby has him thinking things he's never thought before. Thoughts he brutally pushes away. Returning to active duty as a Marine Raider is what he wants, not settling down and playing house. He'll stick around just long enough to make sure Rachel and the baby-to-be are safe from increasingly disturbing attacks they both believe has to do with an old legend about a pirate's buried treasure. The longer he stays, though, the tougher returning to duty is becoming. But when the time comes to head back to the Marines, he has to make the toughest decision of his life—duty to his country, or life with the woman he loves.

All her life, Rachel Winchester has fought against the idea that she was nothing but white trash destined for Loserville. Now, it seems all that fighting was for nothing. Sure, she's running a...

The second book in this series, the story of Rachel and Harris.

She runs a B&B near the base where Harris is stationed. They know each other from when they used to flirt in bar where she once worked.
He is back in town after the death of one of his team, and is on his way home after his dad dies, so he doesn't think twice when she offers him a night of fun to distract him. But when she finds out she is pregnant will he support her and does he want more than just being the babies father? Add to that the mystery of who is trying to kill Rachel and the hint of buried treasure on the property.

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

While I’ve read many series by Leslie North, SEALs & Veterans has to be my all time favourite to date. The series follows the lives of the three McCallister brothers after the loss of their father and how each brother deals with the emotional impact.

Seal's Accidental Family is the middle McCallister brother’s story, and as per the title finds Harris suddenly faced the unexpected reality of impending fatherhood. The story shows a depth of warmth and sensitivity in this imposing Marine, and that the unanticipated can often be the best thing that could ever happen to a person. Harris rediscovers that the simple things in life are what make him the happiest and that loving a vibrant, colourful and feisty fairy could potentially be his future.

As with all deep romances, Rachel and Harris have obstacles in their way, not to mention someone determined to cause mayhem and havoc, at the risk of Rachel’s safety; add to that some misunderstandings and preconceptions to filter through, and you have to wonder whether parenthood will be enough to bridge the unknown and keep this perfectly matched couple together.

Harris and Rachel are a fabulous couple and barring some moments when I just wanted to shake (gently of course) the stubborn and independent Rachel, this book was beautifully written, made me swoon at the passion Harris committed to the nursery project, and basically want a Harris of my very own.

I think this series has been one of favourites from Leslie North. I love Harris and Rachel. This was a book I couldn’t wait to finish but also didn’t want to get to the end.

Seals Accidental Family
Leslie North

If you had a treasure map, would you try to find the treasure? Well there are people searching for this treasure, who will stop at nothing to be the one to find it.

Rachel, a partial owner of a B&B with her mother, is rumored to have a hidden treasure somewhere on the property. Coming from a “lower” class family she works hard to overcome that stigmatism. With a unplanned pregnancy from crush Harris, she’s afraid of being looked down on again.

Harris, a Marine Raider who is on bereavement leave hooks up with Rachel. She’s been his fantasy for a few years. Her smaller statue, tattoos and brightly colored hair, makes her his fairy. He struggles with his decision of being released and head back over seas or retire and become a family. But as the danger increases for Rachel, can he keep her and the baby safe.

Both characters were well detailed, in their current lives but also in their earlier years growing up. I loved both characters, they were similar in regards to their internal struggles.
To me, this was a more “life” like experience of falling in love.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this story. The main characters were each so well drawn with their personalities and personal challenges. It didn't take me long to really like them and want to see them win. Together. I liked that this book not only had the great main characters but there was plenty of emotions, romance, mysteries and some dangerous actions going on. I think this book is now going onto one of my favorites by this author.
Rachel has had to be tough growing up the way she has but she still has a huge, caring heart. The way she grew up just added to her insecurities and misunderstandings between the M.C.'s. But it also added to some hot make-up sex.
Like Harris points out to her, Rachel shows a lot of love and caring in the way she treats people around her. Especially the people who come to her B&B. Now, her "loving" mother was quite the disaster. She just keeps adding to Rachel's problems. And her mother isn't all that smart when it comes to picking boyfriends. You'll have to read the book to find out if she has any redeeming qualities at all though.
It's shown over and over what a great guy Harris is, even though he isn't always understood by Rachel. She was used to having to do everything herself without any help. She failed to recognize that the love language that Harris had was..acts of service. Of course, working on stuff was about the only time he and his dad had together too. I really appreciated the unusual quirk/skill that Harris had. It was like the land spoke to him. It was explained that it was like the land called to him. It was something that aided him and his team in the military and does so again at home.
I LOVED how creative Rachel was when she does the gender reveal to Harris. It was unique, charming and fun.
There is a good H.E.A. for the couple in the Epilogue and leads into one of Harris's brothers needing his help. A bit of that adventure was seen in an excerpt of, "SEAL'S Home-coming." Sounds interesting and it looks like its out now.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This book was fantastic. I so fell in love with Harris. He was absolutely drool-worthy. What a great male protagonist!!!! Rachel was a wonderful female protagonist. She had a life filled with hard knocks so she was a strong female to match with Harris' Marine strength. It was amazing to watch the chemistry between this two. Throw in a possible pirate's treasure and multiple attempts on Rachel's life and you won't want to put this down.

I was glued to my e-reader as I couldn't put this down. The story just draws you in. The suspenseful but romantic plot will keep you on the end of your seat. The sparks between these two start flying right from the very beginning!

I highly recommend this story to anyone. While this story can really be a stand-alone, I would recommend reading the first story and get to know the older brother Chance and just a little bit about Lee (his' story is the third in the series.)

A great quick read! Just the right amount of romance and intrigue to keep me happy. Also the right amount of fiery woman and attractive man to keep me interested. I love when a one night stand turns into happily ever after.
