“BRENNAN [IS] A MASTER.”
Associated Press

With a background in psychology, FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is good at getting into the heads of killers and victims both. Still, her latest case is leaving her stumped. A third body has turned up in San Antonio—and it bears the same unique and troubling M.O. as the first two. The killer is clearly trying to send a message. But what is it—and to whom? All roads keep leading Lucy down a dead end. . .

“CAN’T-PUT-IT-DOWN SUSPENSE.”—Fresh Fiction

The victims are all married men who led honest lives alongside their adoring wives, but have nothing else in common. When Lucy catches each widow in a lie, she realizes that things are not at all as they seem. What begins as a seemingly straightforward investigation turns into something far darker and more sinister than Lucy could have ever imagined. Can she solve this case before more lives are lost. . . including her own husband?

Another great Lucy Kincaid story. Lots of drama and difficult case for her to deal with. The characters were so real to life. This was a real page turner. You'll be guessing right up to the end.

Brennan has done it again! Her books are enthralling, and Nothing to Hide is no exception. This story is an intriguing story with a look into the psychology of gangs; how the members draw family members into the life. This book is exciting and non stop action. The look inside the frustrations law enforcement officers face is intriguing. A great read!

Nothing to Hide
By Allison Brennan
April 30, 2019

Allison Brennan offers us Lucy Kincaid, #15, in Nothing to Hide. I have only read one of the Kincaid series so I am not certain that all have two plots that are closely followed throughout. As it begins we find Lucy Kincaid investigating the murder of Julio Garcia, executive chef. The FBI has been called in by the San Antonio County Police Department. Detective Jerry Walker, is chief investigator for the department. He has put in numerous hours trying to solve the first two murders by the serial killer and feels that the FBI stepping is planning to take over and push him out. In the meantime, Kincaid’s husband Sean Rogan and his brother, Kane are working to disband a local gang trying to regroup The leader’s brother is one of the boys staying at St. Catherine’s.
This journey is filled with detail and suspense on both investigations. At times it is complex with heavy duty crime drama and filled with page-turning, edgy, tension. I thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to pick up more of the Lucy Kincaid mysteries by Allison Brennan. Nothing to HIde is due to be published on April 30, 2019. It is published by St. Martins Press of New York City. I appreciate their allowing me to read the galley copy.

Lucy Kincaid is back on the case tracking a possible serial killer in Nothing to Hide, the newest Lucy Kincaid novel. With ultiple vixtims and no clear connection, Lucy must work with local law enforcement to stop a killer before he strikes again. In the midst of dealing with the case, danger strikes close to home with Sean and her stepson. Can Lucy solve the case and help Sean keep her family safe?

I have read all of Allison Brennan’s books and enjoy each new one more than the last. In this installment, Lucy seems a bit more mature and realizes the value her experience brings to the case. The books begins in the middle of the case and introduces new characters while including some old favorites.

Lucy Kincaid never disappoints and neither does Allison Brennan with a wonderful new addition to the FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid series. Lucy and Sheriff Deputy Investigator Jerry Walker are investigating two bodies that have been killed in the same unusual manner. Then a third body is killed the same way. The men all led normal lives, married, children with no obvious motive for their murders. Jerry is not happy that Lucy has been assigned to work with him, not because she is female, but because she is FBI. As they continue to question the families of the victims, there is no obvious connection between the men. Do they have a stone-cold psychopath killing just for the pleasure of getting away with murder? At the same time Sean, Lucy’s husband, is still dealing with his son, Jesse, and the trauma that he suffered when his mother was killed. While Lucy is able to use Sean’s assistance and perspective on the cases, the sheriff’s department and FBI work overtime processing what few clues they have. Ms. Brennan is a master at suspense and weaves a complicated and thoroughly entertaining mystery. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. Nothing To Hide – Allison Brennan

I was fortunate to receive this book as an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an objective review.

FBI Lucy Kincade faces her toughest case yet, as she works alongside a veteran cop Jerry Walker, with his disdain for the FBI and his distrust in profiling science. Investigating the third case of a seeming serial killer with an unusual routine, Lucy and Jerry are stymied. They can find no link between their victims. Different economic statuses, different jobs, different circles of acquaintances – there is no commonality. But each victim was tased, had both hands broken, and took a pointblank gunshot to the face. There’s no obvious motive – no robbery, no adultery, no reason that investigators can find for the murders. And yet, they appear anything but random…

Meanwhile, Sean’s thirteen-year-old son Jesse is struggling to fit in. After being recovered from a kidnapping in which his mother was killed, Jesse is new to the Rogan/Kincaid household. A frequent visitor to the boys home at St. Catherine’s Church, he has found solace in befriending boys his age, Michael & Brian, who have come from similar situations. But Brian is struggling with something, and Jesse and Michael are determined to keep him safe, risking their own lives in the process.

As the investigation continues, and they seem no closer to identifying a suspect, Lucy tests the waters and sets up a meeting with her brother, who is a forensic psychologist. Although Jerry is angry with the ambush, he listens and agrees to consider the profile presented. When a fourth victim is discovered dead after walking his dog, with the dog injured as well, they quickly zero in the victim’s son, who unwittingly connects the dots to the murders. While he doesn’t match the profile, Jerry is convinced they’ve got their guy, and with no alibi for the nights of the murders he is quickly arrested. But is he guilty? Or has a stone-cold killer set him up to take the fall??

Another fabulous read from the ever-amazing Allison Brennan!! I started reading her years ago, and now buy her titles, sight unseen. Doesn’t matter what the storyline is – I just know I’m going to love it!! Whether it’s Lucy Kincaid, or Max Revere starring in its pages, you’re going to LOVE whatever Brennan book you might grab!!

One of my favorite installments in the Lucy Kincaid series. Lots of action, mystery and plot twists.

I like that there are 2 mysterious to be solved. The murder of 4 different men late at night on a Friday. The trouble Jesse, Michael and Brian find themselves in when Brian's brother is released from jail.

Looking forward to the next book in the series to see what troubles come about with Lucy and the family!
