Just spent the morning going through this book with my son and it was a hit!

The book is very well laid out and easy to follow

There is a section on how to use the book with the basics of drawing another section with drawing excercises and then each character has there own section with little helpful hints.

Good fun book that is perfect to to give kids something fun to do during the summer holidays.

Great pictures and very engaging. I felt that this was more appropriate for older children. There are steps in how to draw each character, just shows phases. While it does give the process, readers will need to be advanced in their drawing when utilizing this book.

If you’ve ever seen these Walter Foster Jr. Learn to Draw books (or any other short and simple how to draw books), then you probably have an idea of what to expect. The lessons are step by step drawings that use blue lines show your current steps while the black lines show you the whole picture up until that point.

There are some tips here and there where people are likely to get it wrong (ex. Don’t use super straight lines for the nose) , but it replies almost entirely on the step by step images to teach you how to draw these characters. Good for kids and beginner artists.

Projects included:
- Woody
- Buzz Lightyear
- Bullseye
- Rex
- Mr. Potato Head
- Hamm
- Jessie
- The Prospector
- Slinky Dog
- Aliens
- Green Army Men
- Zurg
- Lotso
- Big Baby
- Chunk
- Mr. Pricklepants
- Buttercup
- Bo Peep
- Forky
- Duke Caboom
- Ducky & Bunny
- Gabby Gabby

A fun book full of bright pictures and step by step instructions to draw your favourite characters from the Toy Story franchise, as an adult, I’m not sure there were enough simple steps for my limited drawing skills, however I’m sure children would enjoy trying to follow each step to create their own pictures. Each character had illustrations from the film dotted around the page and a short description of the character, a must for any Toy Story fan.

I love Toy Story! But as it turns out my love of Buzz Lightyear does not translate to being able to draw him.

This is an absolutely lovely book so colorful and appealing that any child will love it but it would also be happily used by adults (like me!). I have only attempted a few of the drawings so far, the Aliens and Forky went well, but I am going to need more practice to master Buzz or Woody.

The instructions are clear, concise and the step by step drawings incredibly useful. Maybe with enough time, I could become a Pixar storyboarder.. well, probably not, but that's not the book's fault!

Learn to Draw Toy Story is a new step-by-step tutorial drawing guide for artists who want to learn to draw Toy Story characters. Released 4th June 2019 by Quarto on their Walter Foster Jr. imprint, it's 128 pages and available in paperback format.

The subjects are such a part of our cultural fabric at this point that they're universally recognizable and beloved. It's really cool to get a good step by step set of tutorials for drawing them which result in recognizable finished pictures. I was amazed to realize that the Toy Story franchise is 25 years old this year. This tutorial guide includes all the originals and newer characters such as Gabby Gabby, Forky, Duke Caboom, and Ducky & Bunny.

There is a very abbreviated introduction with some basic drawing exercises (not many). Very basic drawing instructions and information on tools and materials should be learned elsewhere. What this book does well are the step-by-step line drawn character tutorials. Each of them is 6-8 pages long with each subsequent drawing step highlighted in blue lines.

The typesetting and page layout are upbeat and appealing with a 'storyboard' feel to them and light vibrant colors which highlight the simple line drawings so they feel dynamic and attractive.

This is a cute book which would make for nice gift giving for a budding young artist, especially if it were bundled with a roll of drawing paper and some pencils/markers, etc.

Five stars.

This is a well put together book offering a huge assortment of Toy Story characters to draw from all four films. The book is well laid out, bright colored and offers what appear to be fairly simple steps. This is meant for an older child or adult, as some of the steps do rely on a previous background in drawing. Many of these characters are more difficult that other traditional Disney characters to draw in terms of the shapes and details. One thing that would be helpful in this book is a stronger indication of the level of difficulty in drawing each character.

We took our respective mothers to see Toy Story 4 and were a little disappointed. It wasn’t as good as the other 3, didn’t really have the heart of them but some of the new characters were fun. This book has some really great step by step instructions on how to draw those characters. I found them really easy to draw and follow along. Although mine didn’t have the true Disney Magic and somehow the eyes ended up looking dead. It was Woody watching his career die and his friends move on without him.

Really good for showing step by step how to create sketches of Toy Story characters. There is some overlap with the Learn to Draw Pixar book, but a lot of new ones. The last section of the book is the new movie, 4, which I haven’t seen yet. I attempted my original favorite the alien. Pleased with how my first attempt came out. This book is aimed at kids, but I found it good practice as well. It’s nice to see all the work that goes into these, really makes you appreciate animators!

Each image is followed up by putting blue lines on the last so you can see what changed in the evolution of drawing it. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the digital ARC to review.

I loved, loved, loved this colorful book! It has all the Pixar Toy story characters in easy to follow illustrations with hints on proportions and tips to keep them looking authentic. The instructions are simple enough that an older child would be able to follow them. Highly recommend!

My daughter is a massive Toy Story fan and was really excited to try drawing them. The book really helped her to properly look at what shapes make up the characters and she's been trying really hard to copy the drawings. The only issue we've had is that the format the book comes in on netgalley is not compatable with a lot of our devices, then when we did finally get it to work it's difficult to use an electronic version. I think this is the sort of book that would be much better as a hard copy

Great book! Really clear and concise directions. Jumps right into the drawing and doesn’t overwhelm with reasons and technique so kids can easily follow and learn along!

Learn to Drawn Disney/Pixar Toy Story Collector's Edition by Walter Foster, Jr is a great book for any artist skill level. Wonderful photos and instructions for drawing characters from Toy Story. Very cute book! Fans of the movie will get a kick out of this.

my kids loved this book. We used the techniques to enlarge the characters and paint them on their bedroom walls. They then used acrylic paints to colour in and a magic marker to outline. We are all pleased with results and now their friends want to do the same. I’ve already recommended this book to other mothers. A great wet day filler now the schools are on vacation.

Love the characters from Toy Story and want to be able to draw them? Then this book is for you. It provides step-by-step instructions for drawing all your favorite characters, like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog, and even Forky! There are drawing tips and tricks interspersed throughout the book. The pictures of the characters are well done and enjoyable just on their own. This book presupposes some drawing ability on the part of the child or adult.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - Walter Foster Jr. and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was given this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This how-to-draw book is intended for older artists. It has wonderful details that really help to make the drawings authentic to the source material. This is not the size of a usual book from this category. It is huge! There are over a hundred pages with in-depth looks at all of your favorite characters from all four films. If you haven't seen the fourth film yet, there are no spoilers.

Perfect for young artists and Pixar perfectionists. This book is absolutely celebrated in my house and I highly recommend it.

This is a really cool book to help you learn how to draw your time favourite toy story characters and new characters from Toy Story 4. The instuctions are really easy to follow. This is the perfect gift for the Disney loving drawing enthusiast in your life.

A very fun book for those who are interested in drawing or who want to enhance their drawing skills. Step by step instructions help make attempts at drawing the characters less frustrating. An awesome activity for people who want something to do!

With the newest Toy Story movie just released, this book is sure to be a hit with everyone who wants to keep a little more Woody and Buzz in their life (I'll leave that right here!). This is a beautiful book filled with color depictions of all the majors. The author gives detailed instructions on how to draw these characters but what I love most is that they show you what NOT to do while sketching your piece. My granddaughters favorites? Mr. Potato Head and Buttercup, which she correctly identified from her grandmothers sketches! I would say this book is most suitable for older children as the steps may prove to be too difficult for the younger ones to sketch. Many thanks to Quarto Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC (all opinions expressed in this review are authentically mine).

I’m a planner & journaling kind of girl! And I love planning and being artistic as I can in my planners and my art journal.

With Toy Story just coming out with their newest installment you have no idea how excited I was to score an advance copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review!! I absolutely LOVED this book! I love to draw but I admit I’m not the best and this was a very user friendly how to guide on drawing all of your Toy Story favorite characters!!

I love this book so much and I’m buying it. We are big fans of Toy Story in our family and I can’t wait to draw more characters from this. With just an ink pen (not an ideal tool for drawing really) and a note card I was able to draw Woody (and a pretty good one) on a second try. Forky, Jessie, Bo Peep and Rex you are next! I think my sons will love that I can draw these characters and when they get a little older they will enjoy using this too. This book is a must for any Disney fan!

Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar Toy Story Collector's Edition by Walter Foster Creative Team is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. This is such a colorful and informative book that it will delight kids everywhere! It's probably made for a bit older kids to follow the directions. There are step by step directions to draw many childhood favorites with loads of pictures to show you how. Not only that there is extra info, behind the scenes of each character! That really was my favorite! For all fans, now you can draw your favorite characters! Excellent book!

This book was received as an ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster, Jr. in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

Disney is very popular with our young patrons and community. As a kid, I have always wanted to know how to draw Disney Characters and create my own comic or even cartoon old school style. This book gives a lot of special techniques that are easy to follow so that any kid can become a cartoonist and draw characters such as Woody, Buzz, Ham, Slinky Dog, Mr. Potato Head, Jessie and my favorite character Rex. I know the children at our library will go crazy for this book and will want to decorate our library even more with all of their cartoon drawings.

We will consider adding this title to our JNon-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

What a great book. Such an easy way to draw characters that children love.

Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar Toy Story Collector's Edition. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

This learn to draw book includes all of the characters from the Disney/Pixar Toy Story movie series. The book is well illustrated with great step-by-step instructions for artists of all ages and skill levels. Each step is laid out and is clearly marked, with reference pictures that can be used by artists to keep on track.

The beginning of the book includes a short introduction of which art tools and materials are necessary, as well as a few basic drawing techniques. This section is a bit short, so beginners may want to try a few drawing exercises from a basic skills book before attempting some of the more difficult characters.

Both adults and children will delight in trying their hand at drawing their favorite Toy Story character. The book reminded me of a former attraction at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios called the Magic of Disney Animation Academy, where parkgoers could take a short drawing class. I would recommend the book to Disney/Pixar fans and I look forward to capturing the likeness of some of my favorite Toy Story characters.

Drawing has never been my strength, I love doing crafty things until you make me draw something! I’ve tried different books and techniques, but I suppose the main problem is time, I don’t have the time to “learn” and let’s be honest, is neither my strongest!
But I’ll have to admit that with my son being a big fan of Toy Story, I couldn’t resist to try to learn how to draw the famous characters: Buzz, Woody, Boo… so I tried the Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar Toy Story by Walter Foster Jr. Creative Team book!
For starters there are a few different position for every character, so you can choose which one you want to start; and a lot of useful tricks and examples that will make the process much more fun and easy!
The illustrations are big and colorful, easy to follow and done with a fine pen to show you exactly how to “perfect” your characters. There are too some do’s and don’t to make the experience more fun and interesting.
And I am sure you want to take a look at my designs… don’t laugh, they are not perfect, but I had so much fun trying to draw these characters! And my son was able to difference each of them, so I suppose I didn’t make them so badly!
This is a book for young and adult that love to learn how to draw these famous Toy Story characters, they’ll have hours of fun learning and then creating their own adventure scenes, I am sure!

The Learn to Draw Toy Story Collection is a great resource for anyone looking to get into drawing cartoon characters.

The characters are super detailed and I feel some of the characters need more drawing steps for beginners but would be perfect for someone with drawing experience.

This book although complex at times was fun to try and I'm interested to see what else the illustrator works on.

It has several sections, and what I liked most was it provided how to do the basics of drawing and give you the tools to create the characters.
I hope you have fun drawing the characters like I did.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
