Description

Nadeem’s Journey by Sherine Anniruth is the soulful and bittersweet story of a mother who loses her son.

Nadeem was just 25 years old when he died from cancer, but his mother’s determination for his memory to live forever is beautiful and raw. Reading this book really shows what a mother’s love can be, and being a mother myself, I understand how every little memory, laugh, joke, and good time that you had with your child can push you through the day.

Sherine is a very strong woman while going through the loss of her precious son. This story absolutely captures Nadeem’s spirit, he was a fun loving and precocious boy who adored his mom, and he turned into a hardworking man that still had his mom by his side.

This book will captivate you and wrench your heart. You’ll definitely need to grab some tissues as you read the tender accounts of Sherine’s life with Nadeem, and his last breaths.

Interspersed with pictures of Nadeem and his family, you’ll definitely get an idea of how much love was in this family, and how much light he cast on the world.

A poignant memoir of one mother and her first-born son, Nadeem. As Nadeem’s mother takes us through his life’s journey, we get to know him, grow fond of him, and we join the family in their feelings of despair, hope, frustration, and the importance of family and good friends. We also grow to admire Nadeem’s mother, her relentless hope, courage, and ultimately acceptance. A mother’s love is unconditional. As parents, it does not follow the natural order of things to lose our child. We wonder why the good die so young, and we thank them for their gifts to us during their lifetime.

Through Nadeem’s indomitable spirit, we the readers have much to learn from this inspirational young man about courage, resilience, and the tragedy of terminal illness. A must-read for family members and carers of patients, and anyone grieving an important loss.

It is always sad when someone dies, but never more so when it’s someone young, with what should have been their whole life in front of them. Written by his loving mother, this is an account of Nadeem’s life before and when he was found to have a very aggressive cancer in 2015. He and his family fought desperately but sadly it wasn’t meant to be. A truly heartbreaking story.
