Description

He's mythologically hot, a little bit wicked, and almost 100% immortal. And he'll hit you right in the heart . . .

"Miss Black, we have a big problem.”

Lila Black doesn't believe in matchmaking, let alone soul mates. So then why is she constantly being hassled by the Cupids Matchmaking Service? But this gilded, cherub-bedecked dating agency isn't exactly what it seems . . . and it’s about to turn Lila's entire world upside down.

It turns out that Cupids Matchmaking is the real deal. As in, it's run by actual cupids—who don't look at all like they do in the paintings—and they have a serious problem with Lila's “match.” Because this guy shouldn't be in the system. He shouldn't have a match. And while he's irresistibly hot, he's also incredibly dangerous. Because Lila's true love match is Cupid. The original bad boy of love. And he wants her.

Now Lila's once-normal teenaged world has exploded into a mythological nightmare overrun by crime-lord sirens, wrathful cupid hit men, magic arrows that cause no end of trouble, and a mischievous, not-so-angelic love god she can't seem to stop herself from falling for . . .

Adored by 50 million readers on Wattpad, Lauren Palphreyman's smash-hit book is now in print for the first time.

I received a free copy of CUPID’S MATCH by Lauren Palphreyman in exchange for an honest review. Lila Black has a boyfriend, so she’s really annoyed with Cupids Matchmaking Service because it keeps spamming her phone, her email, and even her physical mailbox. When her efforts to stop the spamming by phone, by email, and by mail are unsuccessful, Lila devotes an entire day to travel to their headquarters so she can confront them in person. Lila’s drop-in visit yields unexpected fruit. Lila learns that CMS is run by actual cupids, that the guy they found for her is her fated match, and that he’s the original Cupid. CMS is delighted Lila has no interest in her match because the CMS bylaws forbid all cupids, including CUPID, from making their matches. The only problem is that Cupid knows his match has been found, and he’s coming for Lila. Factions of CMS will do anything to keep them apart. Hi, Lila! Welcome to the world of warring gods and goddesses; I hope you brought your Edith Hamilton.

This was a cute book. It had some intense action, dangerous situations, and kissing-level romance. I recommend this book to fans of action-packed paranormal/urban fantasy romance. I liked it.

I was given the opportunity to read this novel by Lauren Palphreyman, early in exchange for an honest review.

Cupid’s match is a fresh and original take on the supernatural teen romance genre. I loved it, I powered through the whole novel in a matter of hours, unable to put it down without thinking about it. There were lots of unexpected twist and turns throughput the novel that stopped me from putting it down. I was able to easily sympathize with the characters and found myself holding my breath as I cheered on Lila and Cupid every time they were together.

There are many times throughout the novel that made my heart swell and many that had me chuckling to myself as I read along.

The novel included mythological and historical characters to help move the story along and it was executed seamlessly and enriched the overall storytelling experience.

My only criticism of the story is that I would have liked to see more of Lila and James relationship in the beginning to be able to feel the full impact that Cupid had on her. In the end though it does not change the quality of the novel.

Other than that one note, I have nothing remotely negative to say about it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the open ended ending that left me wanting more. I will be buying a copy after release to support the author and I am excited for any sequels that maybe released it the future.

Keep an eye out on October 1st, 2019 for this lovely novel.

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad books for letting me read this!

This book follows Lila, a typical teenage girl who goes to high school with her best friend Charlie and boyfriend James. The Cupid Matching Service discovers that Lilas true match is none other than Cupid himself which breaks the companies most sacred policy and threatens the balance if the world as they know it.

I found the story of this book to be very interesting and unique, plus i am always a sucker for some mythology in my books. The way that ancient myth was brought into the modern world made a lot of sense but was also creepy af. Can you imagine? A dating service whose seen your entire life? Every embarrassing moment? No thanks! I see that the Wattpad versions of this book makes it a series and if they are still available I will continue on reading and if not I will place the new releases in my TBR. Unclear where the story will go from here but I really enjoyed the idea of this world!

I would consider this a YA fantasy more than a YA romance... yes I know it's about Cupids.

One thing I didn't like was the size of the chapters and the amount of blank space on each page, and while I realize this is not the final format it still felt like a very minimal amount of words per page for a hardcover release especially, on the chapter pages that were so very frequent. The love story was also central to the plot of the tale and it felt rushed and inorganic to me since a large portion of the text is dialogue you couldn't really feel the emotions you were just told they existed.

The whole concept of this book was awesome! So inventive and I loved it! Fantastic job! This was well written, beautiful cover art, imaginative, and perfect teen love story! I loved how light it was and I know the teens I work with are going to love this! Hard not to have a crush on Cupid!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Cupids Match had me thinking this would be a YA romance that would be overly cheesy, and no action in this plot; but I was beyond wrong. This book had humor, romance, action, and everything I wasn’t expecting. Absolutely would recommend to anyone. Already drowning in my need to read the next one.

It has been a while since I've read a romance novel and Cupid's Match completely blew me away. It's a perfect summer read if you like characters who are mysterious and interesting at the same time. I loved how this book was romantic and funny too and highly recommend it!
