This attractive book shows animals that hunt and move around at night in various habitats around the world. The text explains why they come out at night and shows them in their surroundings. The animals are labeled and information is provided about them. A map showing these environments would have added to the book. Still, this book will stimulate interest and curiosity about the natural world. Great for browsing and comparing.

This was really beautiful!! The art and scenery are really amazing and the diverse choice was great too! It's a short book that focuses in important information rather than being info dumpy.

What a beautiful book. I love books about animals and this is a lovely new addition to the Non fiction world.
It allows children to see and learn about animals who are more active at dusk, night or dawn. Not only can you learn facts about the animals themselves, this book is set out by habitat and gives you information about the desert, arctic, jungle and other animal homes from around the world.
It could almost act as a hide and seek book as well to see if you can spot some animals wandering around the habitats. I must admit there are some animals that I hadn't heard of and so I really enjoyed seeing what they looked like and learning some facts about them.
I look forward to holding the physical book so I can see the glow in the dark feature and actually use it, but even as an e-proof, it is clear this will be a wonderful addition to any home or school library.

It is with great pleasure that I give a glowing review (5/5) for this beautifully illustrated book with the most helpful text on nocturnal creatures. The artwork glimmers and there’s even a shimmering poster of the deep sea, a happy kind of night light for the bedroom wall of every kid and every kid at heart. City, rain forest, beach, Australian outback, coral reef, and the Savanna are just some of the entrancing habitats included. Offered by one of my fave publishers, Quarto, and highly recommended!

Beautiful artwork and short accessible chunks of text that introduce children to various nocturnal animals in habitats ranging from rainforest and Australian outback to mangrove and coral reef.
This is my first 'glow in the dark' book and I feel the topic couldn't have been more appropriate.
Looking forward to using it in my classroom as well as showing it to my little ones at home.
Thank you to NetGalley and Wide Eyed Editions (Quarto Publishing Group) for the ARC provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

Love this book of illustrations and information about the nocturnal world of animals from around the world. Perfect pictures and tidbits for kids to understand and remember. Well done.

Good introduction for young kids to find out about things that are active during the night. Some animals they might already be familiar with but there are several that even parents might not know about. Very informative yet short enough to keep any kids’ interest. There are a couple of corrections, one just a typographical error at the beginning of the book, the other is to add an arrow to the Saguaro cactus. Wish I could have seen how the book illustrates the nighttime views.
I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my volunteer review.

I adore everything about this book. The color scheme, the illustrations, the facts and the fact that the book will glow in the dark.

It was nice to see a book about animals that focused on the nocturnal ones. Not often do we see that time of the night depicted throughout an entire book.

A very attractive early biology book, with a seldom-used concept, of concentrating on nocturnal animals. So we go from the mountain cats that like to hunt at night, to the desert dwellers who can't do anything once the sun is too high in the sky, to the giant turtles hoping for a good hatch when their backs are turned. Of course I couldn't see the glow-in-the-dark effect on my laptop, but the cover and a large pull-out poster of the underwater world are what's going to give off a spooky glimmer if all things work. Mind, I've been reading Wide Eyed Editions books for several years, and the ones I've read in real life never struggle with any different kind of formatting or production, so I don't see why this would. They can drop a clanger with an awkward design, but not here – the artwork is really strong, with a great realistic quality. A strong four stars.

In this beautiful colorful album (despite the theme of the night), we found in each double page a world lit by the glow of stars and the animals that live here.
To each (or almost all) species shown, a small inset dedicated to the presentation of the animal and/or the reason for its nightlife.

In short, it's an album that I really liked, and I really appreciated the illustrations, made by Cornelia Li.
I would very much like to have a physical version of this book, so I hope that the book will be translated into French because I think I will buy it! ^^

What an absolutely breathtakingly-beautiful delight of a non-fiction book, inviting children to stay up past their bedtime (or at least pretend to) to discover the fascinating world of nocturnal creatures, great and small, of the night. Flint and Li have pulled off a fantastic volume, both interestingly written and gorgeously illustrated to inspire the curiosity of every child that has dreamed of sneaking into the zoo after dusk.

As we travel around the globe through different continents and habitats, we’re introduced to nocturnal animals, both familiar and rare, which stir to life as the sun goes down and children are tucked in for a night of rest. We discover that their lives are just as busy as ours and learn about what makes them special and helps them survive this dangerous twilit world. Animals at Night is filled with interesting facts and uses wonderfully descriptive writing to challenge and stimulate young brains, and my children adored flipping through it and learning about so many captivating creatures.

Each page is a work of art, glimmering and glinting both on the screen and in paper form, and will capture readers’ imagination as they are whisked away to a world so different from the daytime we know, that it seems almost magical and alien. I’m sure this book will be enjoyed by children and parents of all ages, and would definitely be a worthy addition to the home or classroom library.

Glow in the Dark: Animals at Night is a beautifully illustrated look at the animals that come out after dark. The artwork does a great job of capturing the wonder of the creatures and their habitats. It is a pity that I was reading a digital copy so I missed the effects of the glow in the dark work, which considering the other artwork I suspect is quite lovely. I thought that the text was well written and accessible to a wide range of ages and knowledge levels. I liked the tone used, it was very conversational and informative without being stuffy or condescending. I think this book will be a hit with animal or nature lovers as well as those who simply love a picturebook that is lovely to look at.

Simple to understand facts about nocturnal animals, organized by habitat (which I loved), depicted in gorgeous illustrations. This is one I'd love to own to use in our homeschool while studying different habitats or just to introduce the idea of nocturnal animals to a preschool or early elementary child.

The illustrations are beautiful and the text is short and interesting. This is the perfect book to introduce some great animals to children with. Of course, the glow in the dark will make it extra fun. Great picture book for introducing night animals to children.

This is a fun animal book, and would be good for kids. I enjoyed it and it included most of my favorite animals, so that's awesome. Given the electronic nature of the ARC, I missed out on the glow-in-the-dark aspect of the book, which I think would be neat in the physical book. I think this would be worth a purchase.

I cannot say enough about this book. The words are informational but brief so that children can understand. The illustrations are some of the best I have ever seen. They are detailed with warm colors that reach out and bring you close. Each contain a couple of animals to find and explore. The variety is impressive including such things as tarantulas and pufferfish.

Do not hesitate to purchase this book. Children will want to read it and search the pages over and over.

I received an ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.

I can't wait to see the printed version of this book and test out the glow in the dark feature. Even without, the illustrations are absolutely beautiful. The labels and fact bubbles are interesting and informative.

This is the most beautifully illustrated book I’ve ever seen. The information is educational without encroaching on the impact of the art work. While I’m unable to see the glownin the dark, I can certainly see where it would go and it will most definitely add to the effect.

This book is just beautiful, the pictures are amazing and full of fascinating details. The information is well written and a ideal introduction for younger children. I would definitely recommend this for a ks1 classroom.
We loved it.

This was an engaging read with lots of information for kids to learn and absorb.

I really liked this one, as it had beautiful artwork in it. It was also diverse in terms of animals and territories/habitats.

I loved this book and learned a great deal of facts. Instead of being presented in a dry fashion, it’s organized into a loose story that moves through different regions. A search for various animals adds an additional element of fun. The illustrations are gorgeous!
