Description

In a world where therapists look like the Real Housewives of Equinox, where friends dispense Xanax like Pez, and where a woman’s status is directly linked to the how few carbs she eats…can one Hollywood wife take back her life?

Agnes Murphy Nash is in big trouble. When she returns home one evening only to find the locks changed on the gates of their mansion, the security guard breaks the news: her famous producer husband has filed for divorce. And he’s not going to play fair. Trevor Nash wants custody of their tween daughter, Pep, but only for the sake of appearances. And Agnes can’t let him win.

With the help of her ex-con sister, a Hollywood psychic, a ballsy female lawyer, and a host of friends and “frenemies,” Agnes realizes that when he changes the locks, she needs to change the rules. But a crisis can lead to opportunity, and for Agnes, this gigantic betrayal brings her to a crossroads that will have her asking herself what she really wants out of life, who she really wants to be, and which man she really loves.

Told with Gigi Levangie’s sparkling dialogue and wit, Been There, Married That is a drop-dead hilarious battle of wills that will make you laugh out loud, cringe, and keep turning the pages to see what crazy disaster will happen to Agnes next…and how she’ll rise from the ashes.

In a world where therapists look like the Real Housewives of Equinox, where friends dispense Xanax like Pez, and where a woman’s status is directly linked to the how few carbs she eats…can one...

Hysterical!!! It’s been a long time since I’ve read a novel that literally had me laughing out loud!

Been There, Married That centers around Agnes, who is one of my favorite book characters to cross my kindle in a long time! Agnes has tried to juggle being married to a well renowned Hollywood producer, raising her tween daughter, and keeping her writing career afloat all while starting to enter all consuming and dreaded....menopause!!! Well, all of the balls she’s been keeping in the air fall down when her husband decides their marriage is over...effective immediately! From that point, I was completely hooked and I couldn’t wait to see what Gigi Levangie had planned for Agnes!

Been There, Married That is filled with sass, snark, and humor! I can absolutely see this novel turning into a movie! Gigi Levangie has written so many well timed one-liners throughout that I lost count! I finished this fast paced novel in two days because I found myself completely entranced—love that! Been There, Married That is a 4.5 star gem that I recommend to everyone! I cannot wait to read more from Gigi in the future!

Gigi Levangie Grazer is back! I have all her older novels in paperback (Maneater being my absolute favorite) and am so glad that she is writing a brand new one here. This book had me laughing hysterically! I loved Agnes even though she sometimes came off as a pushover, and loved how it felt like I were watching reality tv! This is certainly one of those books that should be in everyone's beach bag!

Good quick beach read. BEEN THERE MARRIED THAT is another in a string of entertaining tales about Hollywood and those who inhabit it. Since it bears absolutely no resemblance to my life at all, I thoroughly enjoyed the cattiness, the intolerable husband and the sycophants that surround and the wife's struggle to maintain some semblance of sanity and balance in the midst of an awful situation.

I received Been There, Married That, free, from Net Gallery in exchange for an honest review.
If you love books about the glitzy and sordid lives of people living in Hollywood, this book is for you.
It is funnier than a Woody Allen movie, and I enjoyed entering this world of decadence.
I still can’t stop laughing and I am sure that this book will be a big best seller.
In this book, you enter the world of people who do so many bizarre and cringe worthy things.
This book is a battle of wills and you keep thinking what strange thing will happen next.
Agnes is such a great literary character who is always fighting with her husband.
You root for her to win this battle but at the same time you laugh your ass off
I loved this book.

This book made me laugh out loud, A LOT! This is the first book I have read by Gigi Levangie and it definitely will not be the last. Been There, Married That is about the break up of a Hollywood marriage and as insane as some of the events are, I am willing to bet that a lot of it is close to what really might happen in a marriage out in La-La Land. I found this story to be lighthearted and funny; the perfect beach or vacation read or if you just need some easy reading. I read this in about two days and really enjoyed it.

A funny look at LA and Hollywood life and relationships within. Agnes is something else. Her marriage is unraveling and relationships become questionable. I found the book to be quite humorous.

Interesting read. First book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Usually read mysteries but this was a nice change of pace. Received an advance reader copy of this book but that in no way had any bearing on my review. Would definitely recommend this book.

I will gratefully read every book this author writes and join her for wine as well! An absolute perfect representation of the vapid and plastic environment called Hollywood and those who choose to be part of it. I laughed out loud at this book.

This author was new to me. While it was hard for me to get involved in the beginning of the book, I did become interested. I enjoyed not only the story line but also the characters. I will be reading more from this author. Thank you for introducing her to me.

This hilarious book, about a rise and fall of a Hollywood marriage, was a romp of a good time. I loved the main characters and the story itself was laugh out loud journey. Some of the characters didn't seem to blossom for me so it was difficult to keep track of who was who. Periodically the flow of the story felt stilted, but I’m wondering if I received a copy of the book that was not past the final stage of editing (I'm quite sure my copy was not finalized). Regardless of these things, I plan to read it again, as I may have missed somethings, which made me feel the book did not flow. It is a very fast-paced book and perhaps the writing is fine. The book was a lot of fun and very snarky, I do recommend this book to anyone whose humor could appreciate it. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. 4.5 STARS because it was such a good story and it was so FUNNY!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC to preview and review.

I absolutely loved this book! It was laugh out loud funny for me from the very beginning. It’s the story of Agnes, a Hollywood wife who is also an author, and her husband Trevor one of the top movie producers in Hollywood and their divorce. Supporting characters include Pep, their pre-teen angst ridden and hormonally charged daughter, Fin, Agnes’ jailbird sister, Agnes’ Dad, the “Three Sisters” aka the staff who seem to be Agnes’ best friends, and a host of revolving Hollywood types.

The book starts with Trevor asking for a divorce, seemingly out of nowhere. Sure, they haven’t been lovebirds recently, but they both live busy lives, and what married couple does after 10+ years of marriage. Trevor is your basic egotistical, self-centered asshole who cuts Agnes off completely, even dividing the house up with tape and a time table of when she can use which rooms, and acts like he got where he was by himself. Agnes, on the other hand, acts likes it’s no big deal and either Trevor will snap out of it, or he will amicably settle. By the time she figures out she’s been delusional on this point, it’s way too late....like in jail for contempt of court late, lol. But along the way, there are plenty of riotously funny encounters between the characters, especially with Fin her sister, whom I loved!

I read a lot of less than stellar reviews of this book. I’ve not read anything by Ms. Grazer before so I didn’t have anything to judge this by, although I have seen the movie Stepmom, which she wrote the screenplay. For me, this book was exactly how I imagined a Hollywood breakup would be. Out of nowhere, weird, “friends” ignoring you, getting locked out of your estate, having to slum on your housekeepers couch because you don’t have a credit card in your name kind of story.

Bottom line, I loved it and I’m definitely adding Ms. Grazer to my “to read” pile and will recommend this book to my friends. If you need a light hearted make you laugh book, this is it!

LOVED THIS! Hilariously funny and often extremely frustrating but not in a bad way. So many feelings and emotions reading this book. The only thing that could have made it any better was a beach and a margarita. Must read!

Hysterical! When Agnes' Hollywood diva of a husband decides he isn't into their marriage any longer, she, too, decides to be done with the Hollywood scene. The high road she takes will have you cracking up and just wait until Fin, Agnes' ex-con sister arrives on the scene. Five stars.
