Great era book. Sweeps you off your feet. It's funny and engaging. I can't say I've read many books by this author but this one is proving to be a favorite.

Loved the story of Benedict and Georgie! She thinks she's marrying a convicted felon who's about to be shipped off, when actually she's married a spy! Benedict loves teasing Georgie as others think they're courting, when they're actually married. The whole book was entertaining watching their "courtship" dance! A wonderful start to a new series! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy!

This book was really fun! The romance was sweet, and I like how the characters grew on each other. They communicated and made decisions together, which meant that down the road, miscommunication was minimal. I really liked reading about a woman who was rich in her own right, and didn't want to give that up. In so many books, the guy is rich and she's poor, or he's destitute and she just hands over her money. I liked the reversal of roles. The characters themselves were also genuinely good people, which was really nice to see.

What a fun story. Benedict and Georgie are the perfect match...though they certainly don't know it! You'll cheer for these two capable, honorable people.

Great story, i loved Benedict and Georgiana, mostly because it was one of the few regency romance novels that didn’t focus on the ton’s strictures overly much, also i found both characters refreshingly modern. Especially, that there is a series devoted to the “spares” which i have always felt get a bad look in this genre. Plus, i loved the idea that SHE is rich and he is poor, again a refreshing change of pace.

This is another new to me author. This story was written beautifully! Benedict and Georgiana’s fit together perfectly. Their attraction to one another was scorching. I love the intrigue, love and mystery all wrapped in one awesome book

Heiress and business woman Georgie marries a convicted felon to escape the harassment of her cousin who tries to force her to marry him. Despite her assumption that the man would either be hanged or deported, she runs into him at a ton assembly - surprise, surprise.
While the set-up is a bit far fetched, the following story how these two try to solve their problem of getting out of the more or less accidental marriage is very entertaining and fast paced, with a minimum of angst. While they get to know each other they solve a crime and have each other's backs in times of crisis. Very enjoyable read, highly recommended.

Loved it! I mistakenly started to read it early in the evening and I could not put it down. I was up all night turning the pages in my Kindle. 😆

Georgie had spunk and Benedict was our sexy hero. I enjoyed the flirtation that these two had. Their story had a nice simmering temp and gradually heated up. Their encounters were enjoyable and they really had a good time. The banter was good, teasing and at times seriousness. There was no immaturity in our heroine and dullness in our hero. The scenes when they sat in with Georgie’s sister and her beau were hilarious. The poor guy.

It was a little hard to believe in the beginning that Georgie’s mom accepted her daughter walking into prison n marrying a convict. It was certainly a new twist and possibly a very modern take. But it did not take away from the story and actually made it entertaining.

I can’t wait for the next book!

This plot reminded me a little of the book “My one and only Duke” by Grace Burrowes. So, if you liked that book, you’ll like this one. Georgie is trying to escape her evil cousin who trying to force her to marry him. She does this by marrying a man who will most likely not be in her life at all, a condemned man from prison. Little does she know that that man was there undercover and months later sees her at a public event. Being married to Benedict Wylde will be no hardship though and can bring her more pleasure than she expected.

I received an advanced reader copy from the Publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion. It was a pleasure to read and review this book.

Loved loved loved it!!!! The story was awesome, sweet, sexy and funny. I look forward to reading more from this author.
The title to me doesn’t fit until the very very end and that was the only thing that just didn’t work for me.

Loved Kate Bateman's first book in the Bow Street Bachelors series. Great dialogue, lots of adventure and romance.

This was an absolute pleasure to read from start to finish. When heiress Georgie Caversteed takes measures to prevent her low life cousin from forcing her into marriage, it had to be desperation to marry a convict fixing to hang. A convict who isn't a convict, a marriage that is really real and a plot to free Napoleon from St. Helena, create non-stop adventure and unending amusement.

I was impressed by this new to me author. Her heroine, Georgie, is an heiress who would rather marry a condemned criminal then her nefarious cousin. The hero, Benedict, is an ex-soldier who helps investigate crime. Together they find in each other someone who wants them for themselves. Can’t wait for the next in the series! I received an ARC for my honest review.

Georgie often times renders her man stupid, "he gave a heartfelt groan. “This dress, woman, God, I—” He seemed incapable of finishing the thought..." Benedict is often times helping his woman out with adjectives, “exciting?” he provided wryly. “Amazing, Benedict? Positively the best experience I’ve ever had?” I liked this book, I loved Benedict.

I absolutely love this book. Strong characters with an intriguing story. Most people will retell you the story. I will tell you the emotions that the book makes you feel. This book is filled with it. We have a villain. I’m near do well drunkard cousin Kuder only wants heroine money. A mother who takes it in stride because rather than deal with them as no other way to cope. Many of us can relate to mama Then we have the hero. A man who makes his money by being a bounty Hunter. Our main strong female character decides to go to prison to choose a man to marry. She never expects to see him again. There are some very funny moments in the book. There are moments where you want to shoot the villain. There are moments when you want to tell them to get it done sexually that is. The sex and romance in this book is very strong if not direct through innuendo. This is the book I would recommend to any of my friends
