I have read book one and was looking forward to this one

I liked this even better than Book 1 and I really enjoyed that one too

A really great, summer read - I am hoping there will be a book 3 for me to see what happens next!!

I was saddened to see that she began to hate herself and the body image she represented on this trip versus the strong and confident woman she was in Rio. It got better upon the return to Paris but I wanted more.

I received both Travel Secrets Book One and Travel Secrets Book Two via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own.

Travel Secrets Book Two continues the story of Raquel, in a light-hearted and contemporary romance. Her second trip again challenges who she is and what she stands for. I found the ending of this one pretty predictable, and I have an expectation of where the third book will have Raquel. I found this one to be better than the first because it was a bit more dramatic, but I still feel the romance is a little forced and quick. Something I definitely appreciate in this book is the attempt to discuss femininity and how it conflicts with the process to de-gender languages and create a safe space. I feel like in ways this could have been approached better, but I was surprised to find it in a romance novel like this at all. Something I don't get, is that Raquel just has numerous people throwing themselves at her all the time. I just don't see that happening in a real life situation, but therein lies the fiction, feel good romance.

The second installment in the Travel Secrets was as good as the first one. Rachel's journey to self-discovery isn't as smooth as the Rio one but what's a journey without a few setbacks! We see her emerge a stronger, more self-assured person. I loved the interactions between her and her travel companions, especially Debbie, and their acceptance of her for who she really is. The romance felt a little forced and a bit predictable but it was nice to see her get her happy ending.

My Review:
The second book in the series, Travel Secrets: Book Two - Paris and Bordeaux has Raquel traveling to Paris and Bordeaux to write about her experience which of course bring drama as Chantal's continued sabotage is evident.

This book was provided free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. I truly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. Raquel's first adventure has earn her another wonderful trip. This time to France and she is willing to discover this places travel secrets. It is hard not to be pulled into the story and the journey that she is on. The description and the detail makes you believe that you are along for the ride and not just reading it off the place. That is quite the experience. This is the second book in this trilogy. It made my heart beat for it was not all love in the City of Love and Lights. She has several guys interested in her and that includes her boss who has a girlfriend who is trying to ruin things at every turn. Makes me wonder what is going to happen in the final book New York. I can hardly wait.

Who wouldn't love this book!? The characters make you feel you are part of their lives, you experience their highs and lows just as you would in your own lives with the hope that the ending would turn out well for them, after all a fairy tale always does doesn't it? Set in wonderful South America and France this is a fabulous book, humorous, poignant and a true reflection of modern life. A great read - highly recommended.
