Great story, lots of topics that are very relevant in today’s world. There is a great support cast that makes for a better story and Slater and Kats chemistry was off the charts, I look forward to more in this series.

4.5 Stars

This is the fourth book in the Mobile Intelligence Team series by Louise Dawn.

This is unlike other romantic suspense books. The couple started out together and circumstances and mental illness forced them apart. Derek “Slater” Banez had PTSD that crushed his world making him act out in ways that hurt his girlfriend Kat Quinn. Both were in intense life-threatening situations not long after their breakup and each saw the other in their time of dire need. When Derek finally learns of the attack on Kat, he nearly loses his mind and goes into research mode to bring the man down.

This book was sweet and heart-breaking at the same time. You feel for both characters in their specific situations and wonder if you would have acted any differently in their places. This book is unputdownable in that way. You need to know what the outcome will be and thus you read, read, read until the conclusion.

Great romantic suspense. I will definitely be checking out the other three books in this series since thus book was so stellar.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

This book was given to me in order to review it. I have never read any of Louise Dawn books before this one but she has now gain a new reader.

The story starts out just right. It start with Derek meeting Kate on a 5K run. Neither were were looking for a relationship but in the end that’s exactly what happen until something tragic pulled them a part. After a couple of years they meet again and they both went through so much while they were separated it the love they have for each other was still there. When Derek finds out the truth will he help protect Kat or will he walk away again? Or will he stand by her side and protect her with is life? Will in the end they decide that their love for each other is worth everything they have gone through?

As I said this is the first book of Louise Dawn’s I have read and I really enjoyed it. It starts off fast passed and was well written. The story flowed and has many twists and turns. There is laughter, suspense, tears, anger, tragedy, and so much love, I would recommend this story to my friends.

I really loved this book. I'm aware that this is the fifth book and I did not read the previous ones. But this can be read as a standalone and it is definitely gripping and keeps your interest.
I would recommend this book and would explore reading the previous books and the next in the series that addresses Atlas and Elana.

Slater was with her therapist and told him he had the dream again last night. This was his second therapist, the first one he couldn’t connect with. He respected Seth, he had also served his country like Slater/Derek and was Slater’s newly assigned MIT therapist. After Slater had been blown up by a grenade and had left his tier one team-Mobile Intelligence Team Two - he had a heart to heart with his MIT supervisor about his PTS issues. MIT therapist could discuss sensitive and classified mission programs due to their high clearance levels, and without their guidance Slater wouldn’t have survived the last year. Seth said Slater knew it helped to talk. Seth would offer a different perspective. Seth had combat experience. The night terror was a reenactment of the Black Friday Bombing that happened just over four and a half years Slater is a Protection Specialist and it was his duty to keep his team safe. But they were backing another team It wasn’t their mission and he was on overwatch that day. The op was supposed to be a quick in and out. They were to retrieve a converted asset-Sharon NAssari from a busy mall in Manhattan, she was a beaten wife who was married to an extremist who was ready to give up the cell’s secrets. They got some bad intel and were on the wrong level Reilly had lounged for Sharon Nassari’s little girl and the suicide vest . Slater was blown off his feet . It felt like he’d been hit by a grenade and blacked out Of the sixty three dead, twenty two were children. Slater tried to save as many as he could. He had dug out kids, infants, and parents. Then he came to a little girl about three years old hanging on to her dead mother’s hand and cried for her to wake up. The child died just as Slater got her in his arms. The fatal moment had driven Slater over the edge. Last night his dream had crossed over to his Nigerian nightmare . It melded the grenade blast with in Lagos. That had been why Slater left his team. Slater than started his career with the FBI. Slater had unique capabilities in training agents for overseas assignments. It was Slater’s responsibility to prepare agents for war zones at the facility being built now. Slater told Seth” Everyone around me dies, people, relationships, my soul.” Seth said, “ That’s a destructive assumption that prevents you from healing.” Slater had a new life life that didn’t include killing , explosions, or ex-girlfriends. Now he’d be training and saving lives, instead of exterminating them. It was nine p.m. and Kate/Kat couldn’t wait to be done with this blind date and get home to her bed. Rolf just wasn’t her idea of a good date no one had been since Derek. Today is her birthday and Kat spent it with a stranger. Kat was building up her clientele in a new business-Virtual Consultant-while preparing for a book launch which took all her time. Slater went over to Casey's- his cousin and one of his best friends- and Kat was there- the lights had gone out. Kat left shortly after Slater/Derek got there. The next morning as she waited for her plane Kat knew she could never see Derek again. She harbored a dangerous secret that could destroy Derek’s world.
Excellent book, I absolutely loved it. I didn’t want to put this down and I rarely did. I loved everything about this book. I loved Slater and Kat together and how they interacted. I absolutely loved the ending. I loved the action, intrigue, and danger. I loved the author showed from PTS and some ways to help the vets heal. I loved how protective Slater was of kat.No Matter what - together or apart. I have a new favorite novel. I loved Slater and all the men and women that thought of him as family even when he didn’t work with them and they were there to help him anyway they could. Kat was also included in that family. I loved the pace and the plot. I loved the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I highly recommend it.

Jade in the Snow is an action-packed adventure! This can be read as a stand alone, but is more enjoyable if you read the series in order. Slater is determined to start fresh with a new position, until the one he pushed away comes back into his life. Kat is so strong and will win you over from the moment you meet her. Louise Dawn has a way of inviting the reader into the story and making you feel as though your a part of it. Action, romance and drama - this book has it all!

First read for me by this author, this story deals with a former couple. Derek and Kathleen. Derek is former military and suffers from PTSD. They developed a relationship and due to certain tragedies, they broke apart. When they meet up again, they realize that their love never died. Filled with action, suspense, hot love making, leads to a wonderful HEA for the both of them. This was my first read buy this author and the 4th book in the series, I will be going back to gobble up the first three, as I absolutely loved this book 4.5 stars*****

*I received this book as an arc from Netgalley.com & publisher Author Collective 20 for an honest review.* This is the first book I’ve read by Louise Dawn & I loved it!! Such a well written book that had tragedy, love, action, suspense, laughter, tears, friendships, wonderful characters (incl the secondary characters) & I will be reading the rest of the MIT series starting with the first book. This is a second chance romance between Derek “Slater” Banez & Kathleen “Kat” Flynn. Slater was dealing with his PTSD (that helped in ruining their relationship the first time around) & recovery from an injury and Kat was dealing with a tragedy of her own that he knew nothing about because neither Kat or his cousin Casey never told him. He has Kat’s incident investigated only to find out it was a serial killer that only she survived. Jade in the Snow can be read as a stand alone but I think would be even better by reading the series in order. Either way you will not be disappointed!! Thanks to Netgalley.com & the publisher for the opportunity for approving me!
