This was my first book by Rylee Rubens, and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the blend of mystery, thriller, romance, and spice.

Scarlett and Noah’s relationship felt genuine and believable, and I enjoyed watching it develop as they were forced to rely on each other while hiding out together. The suspense kept the story moving while still giving their relationship time to grow naturally.

I also really enjoyed the wider cast, especially Avery, Tessa, Carson, Brooke, and Liam. They made me want to keep reading the series to get to know the other characters better, and to see what’s in store for Liam!

Overall, this was a fun, twisty read that kept me engaged from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

I want to start by saying that I had not read anything by this author, but the summary drew me in and I am so glad that it did. I enjoyed everything about this book. Scarlett Parker reports to her friend, Avery, that someone has broken into her home. She is told to expect Noah Baxter of Baxter Security. Scarlett and her team had been working on an expose into a group called Halycon. The group seems to be involved in criminal activities as well as the death of a young teen. Scarlett has been contacted by a man, Jonah Reeves, who has valuable information and plans to meet her. When he doesn’t arrive, she is concerned. She soon receives a picture of Jonah, injured and held captive, and shares this with Noah. Added to her fear over Jonah’s safety, her sister and another team member have been threatened. As they work on Jonah’s location, they place her sister into protective custody. Noah is used to having his requests, in regards to security procedures, followed without question. Scarlett is not used to being told what to do, but eventually, they will come to an agreement that a little explanation will lead to her compliance. Their time spent working together has led to an attraction that neither one expected. With help from one of his close friends, they hope to find the missing connection to finally expose Halycon to the media and police. A thrill from beginning to end as they continue to face threats as well as the growing feelings between them. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. The Danger of Holding You completely swept me away! If you love billionaire romance with a fiercely protective hero, an independent heroine, sizzling chemistry, and plenty of suspense, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Noah and Scarlett had such an addictive dynamic from the very beginning. Their banter was sharp, the tension was off the charts, and every interaction had me desperate to see what would happen next. I especially loved that Scarlett never lost her strength or determination, even when the danger around her escalated. She was the perfect match for Noah’s commanding, protective nature.

The balance between romance, action, and emotional depth kept me hooked throughout. The suspense added real stakes to the story, while the slow-building relationship made every heartfelt and steamy moment feel well earned. I found myself flying through the pages because I simply couldn’t put it down.

Rylee Rubens has created another captivating romance filled with memorable characters, gripping twists, and enough spice to keep romance lovers very happy. This was an entertaining, fast-paced read that delivered everything I look for in a romantic suspense.

A fantastic addition to the series, and I’ll definitely be picking up more from this author in the future. Highly recommended for readers who love protective alpha heroes, fearless heroines, forced proximity, and romance with a healthy dose of danger.

In this novel, we are introduced to the FMC Scarlett Parker, an investigative journalist and the MMC Noah Baxter, a six-foot-four man, who saved her from a burglar that broke into her home. I enjoyed how Ruben was able to balance the steamy romantic moments with genuine character development. The protagonists are more than just romantic leads: they each carry emotional baggage that shapes their decisions and deepens the story. Overall, The Danger of Holding You was a captivating contemporary romance that delivers a billionaire and bodyguard romance that left me excited to read the other novels of this series.
