A Simple Solution

The Fourth and perhaps Fifth instalments of the Into the night series. Stories between darkness and dawn. This is true here, and we have two stories for the price of one.
In A Simple Solution a manic priest resolves a difficult problem with his New World Mission’s holy water. Tiro tells an engaging story that captures your attention and makes you want to read on. That it ends in a clever but to my mind an unsatisfactory anticlimax. That said, the story is more than the words it contains. By that I mean the author is writing more of a fable than a simple story. Speaking of organised religion and the rise of evil; a Church seen to be focusing more on ritual and role rather than calling out evil.
In the second short story, Two Letters the author reflects upon the acceptance of the death of a soulmate.
A grieving partner returning from hospital reads more than the words of her spouse in the letter he has left in the event he doesn’t survive his elective surgery.
He talks about acceptance and if she opens the other letter her life too may end.
Intriguing concept but not fully explored in my mind.
Overall a good couple of short stories, part of a collection of work I commend to all who like interesting creative fiction. Not just sleight of hand and a twist in the end but thought provoking tales to entertain and make you think.

Short stories the author keeps you intrigued not knowing where you will end up. The final result revealing the nature of the ride along is interesting not so much shocking but with a good twist to keep one amused.
