Description

Are You Jesus? We all need to ask ourselves this and answer in a personal way. In a world where people need to see Jesus, so often the only Jesus they will see is through those of us who walk with him. Since Jesus calls us to follow after him, his character and actions should become our character and actions.

In Are You Jesus?, award-winning author Joshua A. McClure presents an insightful, powerful portrayal of the effect of Jesus' life upon those who respond to his call to be "set apart" to him. He demonstrates not only why, but how we should merit to be recipients of his commendation in Matthew 25:40, "when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!"

Joshua McClure has authored a Christian Learning Library of eight award-winning, highly acclaimed books. His seventh book, On Holy Ground, won the "Religion: Christianity" category of the 2018 International Book Awards. In 2015, he was awarded Doctor of Theology and Doctor of Christian Education degrees by the Evangelical Theological College of Africa, Ibadan, Nigeria. In 2010, he received the First Annual Heroes of Faith Life Achievement Award, by the Rhode Island State Council of Churches. Joshua lives in Bradford, RI, with his wife Ida. They have four children and eight grandchildren.

"It was my privilege to read the book Are You Jesus? Pastor McClure writes as one who has walked and is walking with Jesus. It's obvious that he talks not only from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit but also from his close walk with the Lord. His book is biblically sound."

Thanks for the opportunity to read this book. As a Christian myself I will find this useful both as a whole piece and in parts to share with those questioning faith and the role of Jesus in history. I found it a bit slow to begin with, too much preamble and background but skipping through the introductory chapters led to more depth.

An interesting concept for me as a Christian has always been “if I was to walk down the street and encounter Jesus – would I recognise Him?” So any text which uses everyday lifestyles and relates them to how we understand Jesus to have lived are of interest. In this book McClure helps us to explore our lifestyle, how we live our lives and how others see us – ultimately asking the question - do followers of Jesus live in his image? I found the text to be very thought provoking and raised many questions around how, I as a Christian live my life. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to explore their own personal commitment to living a Jesus lifestyle. I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
