Description

A child grows and discovers the world. As he lies awake at night, he sees there’s enough room in the sky for all the stars and the moon. When he visits the ocean, he sees there is enough room for all the fish, even for the whales. As he grows up, he doesn’t understand why people fight for space. Surely, if we are kinder to one another, there will always be room for everyone? This beautiful and profound picture book by Iranian picture book author and artist, Anahita Teymorian, is a call for empathy and social action as well as a profound message of peace and tolerance.

This is a cute and quick read to help kids be more inclusive. Definitely a handy tool for when children need to know a bit more about the world.

Teymorian's story (and message) is that there is enough room for everyone in the world, regardless of where you are, provided we treat each other kindness, respect, and love. She tells this story through the eyes of a boy who (abruptly) grows to be an older man who reflects on this. Her artwork has an elongated aspect to it that sometimes fills up the page. The exaggerated features that all still fit into the confined space of the page, shows how cooperation leads to harmony.

I absolutely loved this gentle book that introduces the difficult topic of wars over land and immigration issues. The colors are bright and engaging. It's especially poignant combined with the story of the author. Recommended.

There’s Room for Everyone by author Anahita Teymorian is a fun, educational (in many ways) book for children and families to read together! Our daughters absolutely loved this book and are glad they’ve been able to read it way before release! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
