Description

A chance encounter with a celebrity, an impromptu video, and a shiny new espresso machine. It all added up to a juicy tale for 24-year-old Rachael Allen to share with friends. But when her best friend posts the video online, bizarre threats, home break-ins, and deadly gifts from an obsessed fan follow close behind. Mick Sullivan, the star in her video, offers to help and in the process, Rachael discovers that despite his reputation as a player of Olympian caliber, he’s down-to-earth—and emotionally damaged. He has secrets; some he’s shared only with his pseudo best friend. Others he's shared with no one. But there's one secret he’s hidden from himself, washed away by too many beers. Despite wildly divergent life paths, their shared southern upbringing (and a passion for good music) creates a common thread that draws them together. As the threats escalate, and their relationship deepens, Rachael struggles to accept Mick’s past—and his present. And she is forced to confront her own obsessive love to ultimately decide if being with Mick Sullivan is worth the collateral damage. YOU'LL BE THINKING OF ME is the story of Rachael's serendipitous encounter with a celebrity, her brush with obsessive love, and the bittersweet gift left behind by the very person fixated on destroying her life.

We hear the stories in the news about a celebrity having a stalker and we hear about the outlandish things they do and we hear about them going to court and getting restraining orders, but I have yet to read a book that took an inside look at how the celebrity feels and how the stalker justifies their actions.

Told through the eyes of the stalker and a girl who is linked with the celebrity, this was haunting to say the least. It was interesting to read what the stalker was doing and then to read her explain to a therapist her inner thoughts - I loved it. I am glad the author used her as a narrator, it made the book so full and I thought she wrote the stalker character so well.

I am so glad I read this one. To see the crazy of celebrity culture (I am not pointing fingers, I love me some People), but to see how people take celebrities and make idols out of them is very scary and a very serious issue. I loved this one and hope that Densie Webb is working on something else!

Great read. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.

Books about stalking, I'm in. Books about celebrity stalking, in all in! I've always found this topic to be so intriguing and my god this is such a great example of getting into the head of the stalker. To hear the stalker talking to their therapist about their inner most thoughts? Twisted! I thought this book was so well written and so creepy on so many different levels. I'm excited to see what Densie Webb does next.
I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
