Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr delivers an emotional and triumphant novel about the fierce power of a mother’s love.

A summer rental, a new beginning…

Hannah Russell’s carefully crafted plans for her life have been upended without warning. When her best friend died suddenly, Hannah became guardian to a five-year-old named Noah. With no experience at motherhood, she’s terrified she’s not up to the challenge. She and Noah need time to get to know each other, so she decides to rent a country house with stunning views on a lake in rural Colorado.

When they arrive at the house, they are greeted by the owner, a handsome man who promises to stay out of their way. But his clumsy Great Dane, Romeo, has other ideas and Noah immediately bonds with the lovable dog. As Hannah learns to become a mother, Owen Abrams, who is recovering from his own grief, can’t help but be drawn out of his solitude by his guests.

But life throws more challenges at this unlikely trio and they are tested in ways they never thought possible. All three will discover their strengths and, despite their differences, they will fight to become a family. And the people of Sullivan’s Crossing will rally around them to offer all of the support they need.

THE COUNTRY GUESTHOUSE is Book #5 in the Sullivan's Crossing series, but it can certainly be read as a stand-alone. Reading the previous books in this series, however, may enhance your enjoyment because many of our favorite characters are brought back to life.

It seems like each time I read one of Robyn Carr's novels, it becomes my favorite. Not sure if that's because her writing just keeps getting better and better or if the emotions are so fresh in my mind from the latest book. Whatever it is, I absolutely LOVED this book! I cried (real tears streaming down my cheeks!), I smiled and I got those wonderful tingles that happen when you read the romance as it develops between Hannah and Owen. Ohmigosh! I loved Owen! He's not the hunky, muscular, sexy type, but in my opinion he is the perfect man. There was so much emotion in this book! The sadness over the death of Hannah's best friend, meeting the sweet and personable Noah, seeing Noah's joy as he meets Romeo... I could go on and on but I don't want to give away any spoilers.

I have been a fan of Robyn Carr's books for a very long time. I have to say that my opinions alone should not stop you from reading this book because if you are a fan of her books already, you are more likely going to read this book. Robyn is well known for her Virgin River book series. Now she has turned the series into 10 episodes on Netflix coming in December. This book is a stand alone book and it was heart warming, exciting, and inspiring. The main character Hannah had to deal with the loss of her best friend, raising her friend's son Noah, and learning to adapt to his Cerebral Palsy. Noah learned to cope with the loss of his mother and having a new family. This book will keep you on your toes and make you feel inspired. Pick up this book and see what I am talking about.

The Country Guesthouse A Sullivan's Crossing Novel by Robyn Carr. I want to move to Sullivan's Crossing....anyone have a map as how to get there? Loved the new residents, Hannah and Noah. Owen and Romeo have become new favorites also. Interesting backgrounds, well defined characters, descriptive landscapes come together in very good edition to the Sullivan's Crossing series.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

A truly beautiful story about a young woman who "inherits" her best friends son. She takes him on vacation right away to Sullivan's Crossing where we get to see all our old friends and also a new one. Owen is a photographer who
Had a devastating loss in his life.
Warm and well written. I enjoyed it.
Noah's handicap gives us a look at strength in children. There is so much more to this book. I recommend it.

Robin's latest book is wonderful. She's captured my attention once again. I had a hard time putting it down and was sorry when I finished it. I can't recommend "The Country Guesthouse" highly enough.

Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm. — Abraham Lincoln

I have read every one of author Robyn Carr's books. My favorite is the Virgin River series, now a show on Netflix, but this Sullivan's Crossing series is a close second.

This book is the 5th in that series. Hannah Russell works in sales for a distributor that sells hospital equipment. She likes her job and the benefits. Then one of Hannah's best friends dies unexpectedly and leaves her 5 year-old son, Noah, who has mild cerebral palsy, in her guardianship.

Hannah has never been married, much less had a child before, but she wants her relationship with Noah to succeed. She takes family leave and rents a house outside of Sullivan's Crossing, Colorado. There they meet the house's owner, Owen Abrams, a noted photographer and his dog, Romeo.

I loved the characters, including the recurring ones from previous books in the series, the setting, the storyline. There definitely is a big reason Carr is a favorite of mine.

I received this book from MIRA Books through Net Galley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review.

It was great to back in Sullivan’s Corner. I have come to love Sully, and all the folks there. Of course when trouble threatens the young child they all step in to help. The suspense tread was nice, and I even appreciated that Carr didn’t use cliched characters, particularly with the brother. Everyone is worthy of redemption in my book. Just because their cover is worn and a lot of their story doesn’t look promising, those final chapters haven’t been written. *gets down of soapbox*

The story touches on grief, family, love, and community. It delivers sweet romance that has little drama thanks to a suspenseful thread that will keep you flipping the pages. Full review @ Caffeinated Reviewer on January 7th.

As always Robyn Carr writes a book that rips your heart apart only to put it back together again. Noah's mom dies, and his mom's best friend steps in to raise him, even though she knows nothing abut children.. Hannah takes a leave from her job so she can better care for Noah. she rents a house in Colorado mountains and then the fun begins. I read this as a stand alone novel and found it to be most enjoyable, Now I hae to go back and read the first four.

We are back in Sullivan's Crossing with book five. Two new characters, a lovable dog, and a very cute kid. What else would you need for a very good story. I loved watching Owen and Hannah work through their attraction. Noah (Cute Kid) just adds to the spice. There has to be a problem so watch out for the grandmother. She is not what she seems. Great story and I loved seeing the characters from the previous books.

This is a wonderful tale about love and loss. Noah is such a cute kid. He’s lost him mother at the age of five. Hannah has lost her best friend and gained a heartbroken little boy. Owen has known unimaginable loss too. I loved watching these three come together. The writing is phenomenal. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

A fun, romantic story with a little suspense sprinkled in.
Hannah recently discovered her fiancée in bed with her assistant, and decided she needed a vacation. While getting things ready for her two weeks away, her best friend suddenly passed away and left her guardian to her five year old son, Noah. Noah and Hannah decide to go to the cabin she had rented and see if they could bond and form a relationship together. Upon arrival at the house, the owner, Owen and his Great Dane Romeo, meet the pair and instant connections are formed. When two weeks biomes a month, sparks continue to fly. Noah's maternal grandmother shows up out of the blue demanding custody of him, all are suspicious of her motives. IT takes a village to raise a child, and protect him form devious people, and that is what happens in the small mountain town. After custody issues are settled, will Hannah and Noah stay and live happily ever after with Owen, or go back to her home ?
Romantic book with great characters, lots of humor, and an entertaining plot.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Robyn Carr weaves her magic in this story of loss and heartbreak showing that good can emerge if we’re ready to let go and take a chance. A must for lovers of Carr’s novels.

Admit it- you kinda know how this is going to end- don't you? Well, indeed but it's such a pleasure to take the journey along with Hannah, Noah, Owen and Romeo as they heal from their wounds nd come together as a small family. Hannah's more or less fleeing a series of bad things (her rotten fiancé, the death of her friend) along with Noah, who is grieving his mom. He's got some physical challenges but they won't stop him, especially when it comes to playing with Romeo, the wonderful dog owned by Owen, the next door neighbor they meet in Sullivan's Crossing, Colorado. Owen's got his own scar and he's also seeking some peace and positivity. A lovely setting, nice characters, and a sweet romance made this a good read. You will definitely root for Hannah, btw, when Noah's grandmother shows up! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This one will make you smile.

This is the fifth book in this series but is considered a stand alone book. It is set in Sullivan’s Crossing as are other books in this series. I love getting to see returning characters. As usual, this is another great read by this author with wonderful characters and a feel good happy ending

With Robyn Carr’s usual adeptness, readers return to the Crossing with Hannah. She has just broken up with her fiancé and her life has changed in many ways so she needs a break. She finds it in a big country house that she has rented for two weeks. ARC from NetGalley.

Another Robyn Carr win, like how do these keep getting better!! I call her writing smooth like butter as this new book is just so good! I love that we are back in Sullivan's Crossing with some of the normal characters! You will just fall in in love with Noah- he is just an amazing little boy and then also Hannah and Owen! This story might bring tears as I was so happy they got the Happy Ending! Some twists and turns that you think you know what is going to happen but never do. This is another great book that can be read standalone but just read the other books beforehand in the series and you will love the place and other side characters even more!
Can't wait to see what Carr does next!

I just loved this installment of Robyn Carr's Sullivan Crossing series. She seems to get better and better with each book. The Country Guesthouse focuses on Hannah who has become guardian to Noah, a totally charming little boy. His Mom, Erin, who was Hannah's best friend died suddenly. In trying to honor Erin's wishes for Noah, Hannah ends up in Sullivan's Crossing while she decides what's best for him. Here she meets Owen, a wonderful guy with a very sad past. Their friendship blossoms in a very sweet way during the course of the story. We also see lots of the characters from previous installments of the series. Such a wonderful town full of wonderful people. It's a shame the real world can't be like Sullivan's Crossing. I'm looking forward to another visit...hopefully there'll be a #6!
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
