Advance Praise

"Tales of Freya is an evocative and sensual collection of short stories. It will awaken your senses and leave you gasping for more. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. A wonderful collection of stories. I Highly Recommend." (Mary Anne Yarde, The Coffee Pot Book Club)

"A steamy, historical gem: the author clearly knows her Viking history. It all felt very authentic and real. And the sex scenes were STEAMY! The author knows how to get the heart racing. The stories about Nyssa and Aldaith were my absolute favorites, though. The teasing, the respect for each other, the care, the intense love. If you want historical accuracy mixed with great characters and hot sex scenes, then this is the book for you!" (Kim)

"Sarah Dahl writes so your skin tingles and your blood boils : The common theme is this duality between suffering and passion, and how the harsh brutality of the times contrasts to the intensity of the characters’ emotions, passions and desires. Written with a depth and authenticity that is uncommon in the genre, these stories will easily transport you back to the times of camp fires, smoky halls and fur covered bed chambers. It’s steamy as hell, so read them for those parts alone." (J. Saetrang)

"The Mistress of Norse Sensuality! These are stories that you will not want to end from a writer skilled in her craft. Dahl has deftly taken the world of the Viking warrior, too long the preserve of the idealised male, and filled it with real characters who have as many challenges away from the shieldwall. This is a world where the shieldmaiden is a free as her male counterpart to express her sexuality. You will want to read more from this author." (Dominic Fielder)

"Vivid and evocative stories. Vikings meets Last Kingdom with a huge dose of the 'feels': These evocative stories take you back in time. The characters feel real - I loved them all. The sex is beautifully written in a truly sensual and emotional way. There's nothing graphic or mechanical about it." (M Mercer)

Wow! These are some very steamy Vikings... but beautifully researched and written. Such a mix of stories and some very memorable characters.

When I saw this was a collection of erotic short stories, I had low expectations, but I downloaded it because I'm auto-approved by the publisher. But Sarah Dahl really knocked it out of the park. There was a build to the climax (pun intended), and the characters were surprisingly developed. Overall, a solid collection.

A compilation book of some of the stories written my Sarah Dahl, this has been put together thoughtfully telling a story in itself.
I'm not intending to break down each tale but there are some characters I can't not mention.
Aldaith and Nyssa, what a pair these two are. Both warriors, they are strong and fierce even in their lovemaking but there's flashes of tenderness between them. I loved the way Sarah Dahl placed different tales of these two throughout the book, telling the story of a Viking Warriors life and I especially loved the premise of the final tale.
Each tale shows the Viking world from a slightly different angle, mentioning battles of course but also marriage, farming and slavery.
I'm glad I read these tales together in one book, though being short stories they're a perfect length for short journeys or just before falling asleep, and I know there are more already available for me to read. I'll also be looking out for others as they get published.
I've always loved the Viking way of life, be it book or film, and I loved reading these too.

Very good book for a light read.

The variety of stories keep the book interesting. Being set in Viking times gives the stories a new angle that is enjoyably fresh to read.
