This is such a cute cookbook, there is plenty here that would appeal to most people I also enjoyed the excerpts from the books that are throughout and ties the recipes to the story or gives a little more information about how foods are made.

My favourite section is probably the soups there are some fab recipes here but I am also quite excited to try the chicken mac n cheese.

This cookbook is a compilation of recipes included in the "Bad Hair Day" cozy mystery novels. Not having read the novels, I was curious about it, and have found 2-3 page excerpts of the novels in each section of the cookbook, giving me a great taste (pun intended) of the novels! The recipes are what I'd call "comfort food," but could work with almost any preferences. There's a section with vegetarian entrees, for instance, and various ethnic types of foods. It reminds me of the types of coookbooks put together by churches and other community groups for fundraising. That's not a bad thing. Some of my most favorite recipes came from just such cookbooks! I'd recommend this as a gift for a beginning cook or someone just starting out in their own home. Recipes are easy to follow with very few steps and basic ingredients. My only wish is that there were photos of the dishes.

This was a DELICIOUS read. I've never read Nancy Cohen's books before this, but you can rest assured I WILL.

This is unlike any recipe book I've ever read. Each section includes a background from one of the author's cozy mystery novels along with an excerpt. Each one was fantastic, which is why I can't wait to read them!

The recipes truly shine. They aren't full of crazy ingredients you have to scour the earth for. Most are simple recipes using ingredients you know and love. I'll be making a meatloaf recipe this weekend along with a chili cheese dip! Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for this great cookbook! I have a feeling it'll be used even more than Pinterest, and that's saying a lot! :)

The recipes in this cookbook are very manageable and appealing. Looking forward to trying them out. Enjoyed reading the excerpts and also the article at the end by the author’s mother. Should be a big hit with fans of the book.

This is a very enjoyable cookbook. I've read a few of Nancy Cohen's books but to make an entire cookbook from her cozy mysteries is a uniquely wonderful idea...or at least I've never seen it done before! Lots of feel good recipes to boost your carbs and banish your bad vibes will leave you smiling as you picture yourself inside the next book. My friends and I have booked an appointment to try out more of these great recipes!

5 Stars! This little cookbook is full of delicious recipes! From garlic cheese biscuits and french onion soup to lemon bars and spiced peach cake. There aren't any pork options, but there are beef, lamb, poultry, fish, and even vegetarian recipes. Most of the recipes are simple enough for beginners and also some that are more advanced. There is something tasty for everyone. I enjoyed the little snippets of the cozy mysteries that were included and now I want to read the books! Thank you Netgalley for this cookbook.

A Bad Hair Day Cookbook by Nancy J. Cohen, who writes the Bad Hair Day cozy mystery series. I really enjoyed looking through the cookbook, marking the ones I wanted to try. I also enjoy reading the stories in the middle of the book. I found this cookbook to be an all around fun book, perfect for any cook. I highly recommend it, where you read her cozy mysteries or not.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

A new favorite cookbook. I will be buying a hard copy very soon. Plenty of yummy recipes to keep me busy for a bit.

The cooking tips, in the beginning, were very helpful. A few things I did not know like you can exchange parsley for cilantro. It is divided into sections like most cookbooks are but Cohen made sure to include a vegetarian section which will be helpful when I have my niece over. There is also a beverage section. If you like doing theme dinners, Cohen has also taken the time to give you themes and what recipes you should fix for that theme. How fun!

I have never read The Bad Hair Day cozy series so I enjoyed the book excerpts throughput the cookbook. I have put this series high on my TBR list for 2020.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Orange Grove Press, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

I loved this book. I enjoyed the different stories in the middle of a cookbook. I enjoyed learning about the authors background. I felt it was very special to add a lot of recipes from not only her Jewish background but other backgrounds as well. I also enjoyed how the author put together menus for different cuisines.

This was a highly enjoyable book that is full of simple recipes that will be a big hit at holiday parties: save your money and make appetizers yourself! I am kind of a visual person so pictures of all the dishes would have been nice as things that come out of my kitchen can be scary. LOL

I love Miss Cohen's books and how much food is in them, so it's nice to see a companion book with recipes - much like Diane Mott Davidson, books + food is awesome.

Do I have to rate the book in stars? How about 🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁

... this book will be cross-referenced on my sister's Facebook page as shown below.
