Tougher than oxhide, Lachlan Wallace can take about anything except a breakup call from his wife two minutes before competing in the Karate Championship of the World. Welcome to More Dangerous Heroes. If you enjoyed the first Dangerous Heroes collection, you'll love this one. Bold, larger-than-life heroes are irresistible. Dark and dashing, they stride across the page, setting hearts ablaze as they whisk you away on thrilling journeys of adventure, passion, danger, and love.

Join them and their equally daring heroines as they lead you across mist-swept moors and moon-silvered seas, into the torch-lit great halls of medieval castles, and even along cobbled alleys in Regency London.

My Thoughts:
I grow more in love with books by Amy Jarecki with every new one I read. This is book #3 of the Guardian of Scotland series. I own one of the others in paperback, but this is the first one I've actually read of this series. I have read one other book by this author for review through Netgalley and although I gave that title a 5 star rating I still feel this one was better.
This tale begins with our hero who has recently received a break up call from his wife suddenly being thrust back in time to medieval Scotland. Talk about a surprising event.
His time in the past begins near Christmas and stretches out for a year with many things he previously did not know about himself and his linage being revealed along the way.
I found this to be among my favorite time travel books. I would compare it favorably with one of my favorite authors, Lynn Kurland books in her MacLeod Family Series like "A Dance Through Time" & "The Traveler".
As I indicated I gave "The Valiant Highlander" a 5 star rating and this one is it's equal if not better.
I am giving "The Time Traveler's Christmas" 5 stars as well.
I received a digital ARC of this book directly from the author before being approved for this title through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
My thanks goes out to Amy Jarecki for sending me an ARC while I was still awaiting approval for this title at NetGalley.

The Wicked Lady - Brenda Jernigan

Seeing a solution to his pressing problem of finding a bride to please his dying grandmother, he offers her a deal: marriage to him...or prison, never imagining that this little cut-purse will also steal his heart.
My Thoughts;
I haven't read many Brenda Jernigan books in recent years but I did find this one very good in spite of formatting difficulties with this bindle. I would give this book a 4.5 star rating as an individual title.

A Knight's Desire - Catherine Kean

This book was not a favorite but got 4 stars from me.

The Angel and The Prince - Laurel O'Donnell

In this exciting medieval romance, the French lady knight known as the Angel of Death wages a battle of wills and desires against her dreaded enemy -- the English warrior known as the Prince of Darkness.
This one was not my cup of tea. I will not rate.

Highlander in Her Dreams - Sue-Ellen Welfonder They met through Highland Magic, can true love keep them together?

After stepping through a magical gateway, Kira Bedwell finds herself in fourteenth-century Scotland, face-to-face with Aidan MacDonald, the irresistible Highlander who has visited her in dreams. As their romance transcends to reality, it will take all of their courage and will for their love to survive beyond time itself...

My Thoughts:
I read a paperback of this book some time back and enjoyed re-reading it. I love Sue-Ellen Welfonder books. This one gets 4 of 5 stars.

I had previously read the Amy Jerecki title and reviewed it two years ago. It had been retitled in this collection but I recognized it at once since I loved the Time Travel.
The rest of the collection was difficult to read due to the bad formatting. Since I am a fan of most of these authors I struggled through the remainder of this anthology. I liked what I read as a rule. This opinion has little to do with the stories themself but just the reading problems. I found little writing errors just that I found it hard to find the end or the beginning of each story.

I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I chose to read this collection of historical romances based solely upon the fact that all of the contributing authors are favorites of mine and that I had not read any of the books included. I am so glad I did since each book was fantastic! I wouldn't be able to choose a favorite if I were asked to. Amy Jarecki gives us a time-travel story with some truly unusual twists which is then followed by the delightful tale by Brenda Jernigan that has comedic undertones throughout. Catherine Kean brings us a bride abduction and a second-chance love story set in the time of the Crusades. Laurel O'Donnell never seems to disappoint and this is a medieval enemies-to-lovers story between a French lady knight and English warrior. The collection is completed with a tale of Highland magic, time-travel and a bit of sorcery involving visitation of true love in dreams. Just wonderful!

This is really an outstanding collection and the only negative aspect was that the formatting was not good at all, with words being hyphenated that shouldn't be and other types of disjointed sentences or beginnings to chapters. etc. which made the books difficult to read. If that ever gets corrected, this will be a set of books worth the highest rating.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

There were books in this collection and I enjoyed reading all of them! One book was one I had already read and liked it the first time that I read it but it is in a series and when you read the whole series, there are so many things that you understand better - so just a plug to read the whole The Ravenscraig Legacy series.

There were two books that while were entertaining, it was kind of hard to believe that two people from totally different world views in one, the other two different classes in society and yet they overcame this difference. The Wicked Lady had a pickpocket married to a duke and lots of drama throughout the book.

The other was The Angel and the Prince - this one was harder for me to get over their differences because she was French and led a French army and he was English leading an English army. They were back and forth captives to each other. She seemed more agreeable than Prince as he was just kind of a jerk rubbing her nose in the fact that he sat with two castle whores for his meals and she was at the servants table.

For the price of 99 cents, you are getting five books for a great price and if you like more than one of these books, then it was well worth it! I liked three of them more than the other two but all of them were entertaining and kept my interest in the romance, intrigue and drama.

More Dangerous Heroes

5 Historical novels with over 1600 pages of reading material to keep anyone happy for hours and hours. I read Amy Jarecki’s The Time Traveler’s Desire when it came out under a different title and gave it five stars – it is just as good today as it was then. I have met a few new authors and not having yet read all of the books look forward to reading the rest just as soon as I can. For the price this anthology is a bargain!

Thank you to NetGalley and BookBuzz for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4-5 Stars
