Description

In present-day Los Angeles, Caroline Martin has everything but the thing her soul craves most: a daughter. When she undergoes what is supposed to be a routine hysterectomy, she unwittingly aborts the little girl she’s always longed for, leaving the unborn baby’s soul in limbo.

Sharing a hospital room with Caroline is a pregnant woman who’s just been shot by her boyfriend. Her unborn child is barely hanging on—and the soul of Caroline’s hovering baby cannot resist the overwhelming urge to rebirth via this unclaimed fetus.

In the aftermath of these events, two engaging heavenly guides, working together through sensitive humans, struggle to find an alternate way to help Caroline and her would-be daughter forge the link that was always meant to be between them—before the child’s brutal father makes good on his vow to steal the girl and disappear with her forever.

By turns comic and tragic, Rachael’s Return explores the concept of soulmates, the afterlife, reincarnation, and relationships that never die, even as it offers readers a glimpse of the mysteries that exist within the ordinary and challenges assumptions about the true nature of reality.

What a surprisingly delightful read. I was not expecting this book to touch on topics such as the afterlife, soul mates, and reincarnation. but it all worked out and was put together nicely.
I don't want to give anything away, but I will say destiny and fate plays a large roll in the underlying theme of this book.
It was a fast read for me, because it kept me interested and wanting more. If Rachael were to return in another book, I would be sure to read that also@

Thank you to NetGalley and She Writes Press for the arc of Rachael's Return by Janet Rebhan.❤️

Thank you to Janet Rebhan for writing this chilling book.❤️❤️

This follows A woman named Caroline who has a great life, a devoting husband who loves her to bits, 2 boys who have almost grown. But thing that shes always wanted is a daughter to complete their family she dreams of this but a hysterectomy brings that to a halt/stops that dream. Caroline was actually expecting a baby but an unfortunate clerical error has let the hysterectomy go as planned unfortunately...

In the hospital while she is in recovery she is placed in a room with a pregnant lady whos abusive husband has shot her...😱😱😱..... we then meet a whole cast of souls aka angels and who actually help her have a bond with her daughter in which was meant to be..

This is so gripping, I read it so fast, i thoroughly enjoyed this so much, I will most definitely re read in the future

This was much better than I thought it was going to ne and many unexpected topics like abuse, reincarnation, and angels but it was also well written even though the story was not plausible, I still loved it. I think everyone what happens to them in the afterlife regardless of the way of they die and if their death affects where they end up. This story was more about the souls going to some other higher realm of goodness and taking in of new souls but still communicating with those still living. Fate and destiny are two other concepts that are a focus in this book.

I would call this more of a fantasy mystery than a thriller and a new author that I definitely want to read more from in the future. Not your usual thriller/mystery but still interesting to me. I read this in two days. Highly recommended and cant wait for a hard copy to own.

Thanks to Netgalley, Janet Rebhan and She Writes Press for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
