Description

An unexpected love quadrangle with a dash of unrequited love as two classmates, a boy and a girl, begin to fall for each other when each of their best friends have already fallen for them.

Love is already hard enough, but it becomes an unnavigable maze for unassuming high school student Taichi Ichinose and his shy classmate Futaba Kuze when they begin to fall for each other after their same-sex best friends have already fallen for them.

For some reason, Taichi Ichinose just can’t stand Futaba Kuze. But at the start of his third year in high school, he finds himself in the same homeroom as her, along with his childhood friend Toma Mita, a star athlete. But one day, Futaba opens up to Taichi and admits she has a crush on Toma. She then asks for his help in confessing to him! There’s just one problem—Toma seems to already have a secret crush on someone else.

An unexpected love quadrangle with a dash of unrequited love as two classmates, a boy and a girl, begin to fall for each other when each of their best friends have already fallen for them.

Love is...

Blue Flag is a seemingly cliché manga about high school drama, but after reading the ending of the first novel it seems to have a bit of a potentially sad twist. The story and the characters are engaging, but the feeling of being dropped into the middle of things was a little disorienting. Other than that it was a great manga and I look forward to the next volume!

Blue Flag is a rare manga, one of a very few that I have read more than once. The love quadrangle is really interesting and it is easy to become invested in each character. I am so in for this series. I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume.

Blue Flag / Ao No Flag is a sweet love story. A kid begins his year, but doesn't have any of his friends in his class. There is a girl he doesn't like and a kid he knew when they were little. The story begins with the girl asking for help to impress the childhood friend. Now he is meeting with her trying to show her how to get attention. It is super sweet. Everything that happens seems so realistic. There is a lot of questions to be answered and I have some theories that I don't want to share for fear of ruining it. But it is adorable, sweet, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. Created by Kaito

This story is stuffed to the brim with teenage angst, and I ate it up. This is the exact kind of story I needed to pull me out of the stress of the real world. We've got a love quadrangle, and it's beautiful, in the most dramatic sense possible. Our grumpy MC decides to help a classmate get the attention of a guy, who supposedly likes someone else. Now, I know we've all seen stories like this before, but the ending was magical. I cannot wait to read more of this series. Thank you, NetGalley for providing me with an arc!

Love triangle or really quadruple. Ha. Really cute, with a twist you see a mile away. I really wanna read the next one.

A refreshing change of pace. Blue flag takes the cliched loved story tropes and smashes it out the park using creative and innovative characters and a different style of opening. The male and female protagonist are very self aware and go through some major character developments just in the first volume alone. The main side characters are very well developed with some of the other side characters falling to wayside after some brief introductions and mentions. While the art has hints of dark undertones it fits the theme and plot of the story. The art style reminds me a bit of My Hero Academia but it is not to flowery or dark. I'm anxious to read the next volume to see how the story develops.

ARC given in exchange for an honest review Okay I must admit this is the first manga that I have ever read... And consider me obsessed. Blue Flag follows a boy named Taichi Ichinose who gets asked by a girl to help her catch the attention of Taichi's friend Toma. While helping her out, Taichi develops feelings towards her and thus creates a love triangle between the three of them. I immediately fell in love with the art and all of the characters. They were all written so well and you could definitely differentiate from them all. Taichi was an awkward and shy teenage boy who could see himself reflected in Kuze Futaba (the girl he was helping to get Toma's attention). I must admit, I hated him at first for trying to change Kuze into being something she was not just to get a guy's attention, but he definitely grew on me. Same could be said for Kuze. I didn't like her at first but I liked her towards the end. She was a very cute character and her character art was just gorgeous. She seemed to be quite emotional which was probably why I disliked her to begin with. On the contrary, I immediately loved Toma from the start. He was kind, charismatic and I could definitely see the friendship between him and Ichinose. I'm extremely looking forward to the next few books that are set to come out later this year. I'm beginning to really love this series and manga in general. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Blue Flag series! ACTUAL RATING: 4.8 STARS

One of the most enjoying manga I've read recently! This is a slice of life manga featuring an awkward outcast boy who is friends with the most popular boy. The art style is very enjoyable and the story is easy to get into. I can't wait to read volume two!
