I thought that this was a great book

The images are lovely and I loved the message that was told throughout the book – you are unique and to accept and love yourself exactly as you are – it was a very positive book

It is 5 stars from me – very highly recommended and a great message to drive home

Wow. Just wow. I am speechless. This book is so perfect, illustrations and all. There are so many things that I loved about it.

Although a little wordy I think it was necessary! Self-esteem is a huge issue for women today, and more importantly some parents are not able to instill in their daughters the confidence that every woman should have. This book certainly does the job for those who can’t.

Acknowledging the difference, and importance, between self-care and self-love was something I enjoyed. Both extremely important factors together and apart.

This book is moving and certainly the new standard for young girls. How I wished a book like this existed for me when I was a young girl, and even a teenager. The messages conveyed in this book honestly would have been important for me to know and read at age 16. Reminding a young girl to love her body, the skin she is in, is honestly one of the most important messages today. I absolutely can not wait to give a copy of this book to each and every single important young lady in my life.

Many thanks to Quarto Publishing Group and Netgalley for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion

I seriously loved this book. The illustrations were entertaining and truly showed that they were trying to show. What I loved most about this book though was the explanation and examples of self-care and self-love, focused on teaching young women these things at an early age. I would highly recommend this to friends with young daughters as a way to teach these important things in a way that is also fun and entertaining.

As an eating disorder survivor, I wish that this book had existed when I was young. This beautiful, thoughtful, and engaging book is perfect for every young person, but especially for young women growing up in the age of Facetune and Instagram celebrities. I can't wait to buy this for the young women in my life!

This is a small book with a very big and important message. Every body is different, but that's nothing wrong with that, because that's exactly why every body is beautiful. This short book talks about self-acceptance, self-care, self-love and so much more! I think it's a useful and important read at any age really, but I'm happy that it's targeted to children so that they can read and learn this good message.

I saw the cover of this book and I knew I needed to have it for my two daughters. Honestly, I needed to be reminded of the author’s message in this book too.

Jessica Sanders does a beautiful job writing the importance of self-love and acceptance. I appreciated the author’s note in the beginning; and my favorite quote was:

“There is no size, ability, or color that is perfect. What makes you different makes you, you-and you are amazing!”

Jessica explains to her readers that a body is more than just it’s appearance and gives excellent practices to incorporate in your daily routine that will help you grow towards self-love and acceptance.

My daughters and I loved the message, as well as the illustrations. Carol Rossatti’s illustrations portray various skin tones and body types that went so well with the author’s words and overall message.

A lovely little picture-book about self-love, acceptance and self-care! This book has an important message, and I love the diversity of the characters drawn in it! Fantastic to show bodyhair too, since it is not done nearly enough! I was also glad this included some disabilities, although I wish maybe it had included even more pictures./examples of them, especially the group drawings before the page about disability. The thing I appreciated the most in this is the good advice about self-care and self-love, as well as explaining that if it does not work, you should talk to someone!

Review to be posted on my blog/goodreads tomorrow.

A body positive books for kids! I love it! I am not a kid but I can tell you that even I need a book like this, my body positivity varies day by day but generally... not really healthy. :( So I was eager to read this book and see what we would see and read.

And this was a very sweet and positive read. I loved seeing the kids grow up to teens and then to adults. I love the diversity in bodies and colours. I was thinking this would just be a book about kids and how they could stay body positive but instead it features older girls/women. So while I still would recommend it to kids I think I would recommend it to an older age group than I had originally planned.

I loved that we get tips on how to get more body positive, how to do selfcare, what you can do with your body, to listen closely to it. Some of the tips aren't going to be working at the moment in stay at home situations, but many still work now, and the rest will work when the world is back to normal.
Sadly, I know the tips don't work for me, or only work temporarily. I still keep trying, but I do wonder if I ever will have the positivity these girls in this book have. I would love to.

There are also resources and help lines. While the US (as expected) gets a lot of info, I am happy that they link to their site. But, I have to say, yeah, that turned pretty useless in the end. Just the big English speaking countries (US, Australia, Canada, UK) are featured. I know you may not be able to do all the countries in the world, but you can do some more effort in it. Pick a couple of countries per continent and post help for that.

The illustrations are gorgeously done and I loved seeing them. Again, I love the diversity and how the illustrator captured all the girls in their fierceness and uniqueness.

All in all, this was a great book full of positivity. Again the only minus point is the fact the helplines don't extend to more countries over the world. I would have loved to see that for once.

This is such a lovely book and will be perfect for small group work or just to have in the classroom. The illustrations are beautiful and depict women and girls of all shapes, sizes, colours and abilities. There are practical, easy suggestions for how to care for yourself physically, socially, emotionally and mentally. There are also websites at the back, which are great too.

5 out of 5 stars

This book is so important to girls and even women can take something from this.

The explanation of the difference in women’s bodies is beautiful. Giving this book to girls who don’t understand why they don’t look like other ‘pretty girls’.

I would of loved something like this. This also is not only for girls I believe that any child will see that there’s hairy women, there’s ‘manly’ women and women who’s body aren’t like the ones in the movies.

This was beautiful.

I appreciate the message of Love Your Body: you are unique! This inclusive and diverse "girl power" picture book gives examples for offering yourself loving kindness as you mature into a teen. It has such a positive message and also includes resources listed at the back for the reader to seek out help with a reminder that "you are not alone". It would be an excellent resource for health classes in upper elementary school or in a counselor's office.

I rate this book 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. Even though I love the theme and message of this picture book, the reason I didn't rate this as 5-stars is two-fold. While it is inclusive of all shapes, ethnicities, and sexual identities of girls, it is not inclusive of trans youth who identify as female. Also, the book is written like one meant for younger readers (grades 2-3), but the subject matter is more relatable to those in grades 4 and up, so I wasn't completely sure who the target audience is. I think a graphic novel format would have had a bigger impact and would draw in more independent and older readers.

I was gifted this book courtesty of NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review.

Love Your Body is a wonderful book all about celebrating the female body. While aimed at younger readers it has illustrations and a message that can transcend age. This gives ideas of accepting all of our bodies, the changes they go through during puberty and ways to exercise self-care.

Sanders herself points out that this is aimed at those who identify as female and have a biologically female body but also addresses that while this is the case all bodies should be celebrated. I thought this was a great thing to improve.

Also, the illustrations are so welcoming and beautiful, I hope to get a copy of this not only for me 25-year-old self but also my young Goddaughter.

I think it's quite easy to say that I absolutely adore this book. I finished it and tried searching for a physical copy as soon as I put it down - it's now in my wishlist. It's no surprise I gave this 5 stars. An excellent read I'd recommend to all.

This is a cheerful, empowering book written by a lady who tells us she was the tallest in her class and felt self-conscious. Later through sports and hiking she learned that a tall body had advantages. By showing us line drawings (by a Brazilian lady) of all sorts of girls with all sorts of differences and abilities, she tells girls to celebrate their growing body whatever shape, colour or form.

Midway through, we get messages that anyone can feel down at times but finding a positive quote, journaling (bad idea if you have siblings who would sneak a read), learning art or photography, or talking to someone, can help. Well, these days it should help to talk to someone; when I was growing up, children were not supposed to be capable of being bored or depressed or isolated. Few adults would listen to children and you would just be told to be quiet and do your homework. Now the wider community is much more aware of the difficulties young people face while living the necessarily restricted life of a pre-teen. I hope that a parent or teacher giving this book to a child will take the message from it that they have a part to play in helping young people to grow up healthy, positive and confident.

I like the overall positivity and inclusivity of this book and the drawings. The age I would suggest is pre-teen, 10 up, to young teen.

Love Your Body by Australian author Jessica Sanders is an empowering little book for girls. It conveys an important message to young women about self-love and self-care. I like the list of things to do when you're feeling down and think the illustrations are wonderful. I just wish this book had been around when my own daughter was younger! With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy.

The title says it all. Love Your body has a simple specific message for girls to love their bodies and themselves. We are all unique. The illustrations on every page feature many girls with all different body types and of different races. This book is empowering individuality and encourages readers to not buy in to the stereotyped beauty often embraced by society as perfect. Everyone is perfect as they are.

This books reads like one aimed at young readers, but the subject may be more suited for those that are approaching the difficult teenage years. It's not a plotted story, more a celebration. It's never too early to teach children to love themselves as they are and to celebrate life. This book is a step in that direction.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A very important book for young girls infact all age groups.Body shaming so common in society that it's considered normal. But the way it effects a girl's personality,it can't be explained.
So basically this book gives the girls confidance on how to be comfortable in their own skin.

This was a beautifully written book exploring diversity of females and those that identify as female. There is diversity with race and culture and body shape and interests. It opens up the world to explore the concept of loving yourself and your own body. It teaches confidence, but you don’t feel overwhelmed with information and cheesy overused messages. This is adaptable for girls from elementary through high school even. Great messages, a quick read, and promoting love for all bodies and people.

Wow, this was amazing. I want to buy hundreds of copies and give them to all the women I know. Although this book is short, it comes with such an important message: that no matter your differences, your body is beautiful and strong. It gives such important information on self-care and simply loving yourself. I'd recommend this to every woman.

5/5 stars for everything in this book. Realistic body representation? Check! Inspirational themes? Yes, absolutely! Entertaining and engaging text? That's an understatement!

Did you know that acupuncture in your foot can heal pain in your ear? Everything is connected, just like this book teaches. LOVE YOUR BODY not only promotes body positivity to preteens and teens, but inspires confidence, open mindsets, and jubilance as an aftermath of learning to love yourself. This is the feature that stuck out most to me - if I realize that I am wonderful the way I am, my mental health will improve in other ways. There's nothing else I can say about LOVE YOUR BODY - it is thematic, motivational, inclusive, and thought-provoking. I believe this book can solve the problem many young girls AND boys are facing!

I recommend this book to primarily preteens and teenagers, but in reality, anybody can learn how to love and accept themselves from this book! Also, don't assume only females experience self esteem problems. Boys also need body-positive influences, and LOVE YOUR BODY supplies it!

I want to give a copy to every to every woman I know! Yes, we are all different but we all deserve to feel good about the skin we're in!

Amen and amen!

I wasn't sure what I'd think of Love Your Body, a picture book aimed at older children, but i think it's fantastic and a book that all children should read.

Throughout the book we see many different kinds of people, each of them are shown to be happy with how they look and this is brilliant as it allows us to see that beauty and self acceptance comes from within and we can do that for ourselves. The words through the book is very encouraging to read and explain in subtle but informative ways how bodies can change and how we should feel about them.

The self love aspects of the book are great as they give something to think about and consider trying out which might help with better self esteem for children and allow them to think about all that their bodies do for them. The illustrations throughout the book are lovely and it is great that we get to see a diverse range of people, this gives it a more realistic and relatable feel to the book.

I think this is an amazing book that would be perfect to show self love and acceptance of our bodies whatever they look like.

We requested and read this book today. This book was beyond my kindergarten girls head, but perfect for my third grade girl. The kindergartner got out of it that her body was strong. My third grader, this was perfect for. The self care portion and the part about thoughts of your body were perfect. She's started questioning why she's a different size than classmates and why bodies look so different. The words were just right, the illustrations as well. This book would be great for 2nd or 3rd grade-up. It was a great reminder as an adult, to pay attention to our bodies.

Be kind to yourself which includes being kind to your body!!

Our bodies do amazing things, our bodies are so complex and cool. This might seem like a weird tangent but I would note that learning about all the incredible ways a body functions ( please check out The Body: A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson!!! or how the body stops functioning (like learning about death like the fantastic Caitlin Doughty books, my favorite being Will MyCat Eat My Eyeballs?) also reallllly put into perspective the wonder that is our bodies. And has made me wayyyy kinder to mine.

Anyways, all that’s to say there are a lot of ways to get this message across and we do all need practice with it. I’m not completely sure how this would land with students, it would really depend on the presentation and my group of kids I think. When and if it did land, I think it would be super powerful, though. And its such an important message.

More than that, I can see a lot of cool ways of supplementing this based off of different pages ( incorporating more science based on what your body can do, taking it down a psychology thread / mindfulness thread... it’s definitely something that can easily be woven into a health and wellness unit). You could also use the different ideas provided for how to take care of yourself or your body as activities or different assignments/options... it has potential. It’s a teensy bit disorganized for my liking but I will let that slide for the positive message that is so necessary and the inclusive and lovely art :).

I also went to the website on the back and there isn’t much there yet. I imagine it’ll pick up steam as the book gets ready to really be published.

Love your bodies friends!

"My body is strong. My body can do amazing things. My body is my own."

This book is absolutely beautiful. The illustrations are gorgeous and so inclusive of all body types, it's a treat to read this one. Body positivity is something that is so very close to my heart! Reading this book made me wonder what it would have been like if more of such books existed when I was a kid. I wish the new generation learns to love their body despite what society defines as "beautiful". Definitely recommend getting this one for kids!

I appreciated the authors note at the start.
I particularly liked the conversations on self care and the understanding that sometimes these things won't work and it's okay to talk to someone that's trusted.
The illustrations by Carol Rossetti are beautiful.

I loved the soft touch of feminism and diveritsy throughout.

This, I'd imagine, would be a very encouraging book for young girls in particular.

This book is so important. We live in an age of social media where we see photos of supermodels and feel insecure about our bodies and hate our bodies, it is very important to accept our bodies as it is. We should love our bodies the way they are. And hopefully little girls will read this book and understand how precious and unique and perfect their bodies are.
The illustrations are gorgeous too!

This book was fantastic, with illustrations of multiple body types, height, size, colour, interest's and style etc it was fab to read and a book any young person should be given to help them realise and recognise change will happen and to be ready to start the journey to loving the body they have and appreciate all it can do for you too. I just wish it had been around for when I was going through puberty it's a positive book for self love and body acceptance!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Let me start off my saying I wish I'd had a book like this growing up. It shows girls many different ways to appreciate your body and to practice self love. There are different activities suggested to promote self love. But my favorite thing about this book was letting the reader know it's ok to ask for help if you are not loving yourself. The author also gave a list of resources in the back of the book you can contact for additional help. Would definitely recommend!

4 out of 5 🌟 The ultimate feel-good book

Jessica Sanders wrote an ultimate feel-good-book with tips on how to feel great in our body and how to cheer yourself up when feeling a little down.
The book is encouraging to seek help if needed and providing helpful addresses and advice. It teaches you to love your body with all its strengths and flaws and reminds you of all cool and beautiful things people can archive because of their bodies.
The most important lesson the book carries is to listen to your body and act the way you feel, without good and bad answers. 'Love Your Body' empowers readers to trust their intuition and best judgment to practice self-care.

<q>"Use your body to live your life in whatever way you choose and know that you are always worthy of love and respect."</q>

'Love Your Body' also shows importance or one's mind and feelings and learn how to start your journey on the self-love path.

The watercolor illustrations that decorate this book are adorable and heartwarming. They make the whole publication more friendly and approachable for readers from different age groups. I also love the female-empowering message the book carries which makes it an excellent gift for young girls.

Title: Love Your Body
By: Jessica Sanders
Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Childrens
Frances Lincoln Children's Books
Children's Nonfiction | Health, Mind & Body
Pub Date 03 Mar 2020
Goodreads review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3302571451?book_show_action=false&from_review_page=1

Though this book is aimed at young girls to help develop healthy self image, it is possible for anyone to identify with not just girls.

With illustrations it is apparent what this book is trying to achieve. Not only dose this book transcend gender, races, age and sexual orientation it proves the times in which we live in. It is sad to say that in 2020 the most socially acceptably body type is that of a slim woman or muscular man. This book shows its readers that this does not need to be that case. Not only should we except our physical form but it also reminds us that our bodies are not just for looking at, they are here to preform necessities.

This book is easy to follow and gives the reader a clear understanding throughout. I found its hints and tips especial interesting and the illustrations depicted a verity of people not just one archetype.

As someone who grow up with even their mother jeering their physical form this was such an emotional read, It was everything I wish I had been told growing up, particularly as I have an "Invisible" Disability. I never felt comfortable in my skin as a child, I always felt alien. Back then I was skinny and now I am over weight so I have never found comfort. I am aware of my self image issues and just reading this book showed me that I can change my way of thinking and that as my condition will worsen (As my disability is degenerative and will stop being invisible and be come visible) My attitude towards my body does not have to be negative and it can change as my body does.

I would definitely say this book is not just for kids. I am 33 and I feel like buying this for myself.

A book about body positivity for girls.

Growing up, changing from girl to woman is tough. Lots of young women have problems growing into their body, loving themselves, accepting themselves and their bodies as they are. This book may help seeing the great things our bodies can do. May help accepting yourself, finding self-care routines, learning to ask for help, find your style.

The illustrations are very good, they show bodies of every size and colour, focusing on the positive! I loved seeing hairy armpits and stretchmarks - well-done!

I have to admit, I felt a bit emotional reading this beautiful book. The words are lovely and the inclusive illustrations are perfect. Even as an adult woman, it was a nice reminder for me, so I can only imagine the help/impact this will have for younger individuals. I think this would be great for my goddaughter but will discuss with her mom before ordering.
It feels a shame that books like this are needed and are therefore so impactful. This book is stunning and I’ll be sharing my feelings with all my parent friends... might even buy myself a copy!

I would 100 percent give this to a little girl in elementary school to help point out that all bodies should be celebrated (no matter their size or what they look like). The artwork is incredible, with really beautiful images of tons of different body types. The message of acceptance is so powerful, and I feel like it could be super beneficial to girls right before their bodies change to get the message that they're beautiful no matter what. This is a great children's book!

Goodreads Review-Thank you to Net Galley for a copy of this book.

Bodies are amazing. Bodies can do hard things. Practice self-care. Recognize that you are more than your body. Wow. This is an amazing book that I will be purchasing to read again and again to my daughter. The author's studies in gender and social work influence this text with beautiful pictures of body positivity, examples of self care, ways to identify if negative self-talk is occurring, and resources to help when times are hard. This is a book that all should read and believe and espouse. Our bodies are amazing and to be celebrated. Thank you for writing a book that does just that.

This was a great book full of positivity. I loved that there were actual ways to implement a positive mindset instead of simply telling a young girl not to worry. I think it is great for girls of all ages, and a good reminder for adults as well. It seems like a perfect book for parents to read to their children.

My daughter loves this book. She says: she loves that this book says that "your body is amazing" and if "you don't have a body, you won't know when to eat or sleep".

I really love that it had people of all different shapes and sizes and even people with disabilities in the book. The pictures were refreshing to look at. Acceptance of ones body is something we should be teaching our children in this age of internet fame. I highly recommend this as a book to read to your little ones.

This beautifully illustrated book speaks tenderly to girls of all -- empowering them to view themselves and their bodies as unique, different, good, as uniquely beautiful and worthy of self-love.
The message is clear-- all bodies are good bodies. The uniqueness of your body is to be celebrated. Your body is incredible.

This book will speak clearly to all girls and women, gently empowering them to love their bodies. This book will make a great gift and addition to any library.

SELF LOVE!
SELF CARE!

A beautiful picture book about the journey of a girls body during puberty and growing up. The impact those changes on the outside can have on our insides. It stresses the importance of self acceptance. Also, practicing self care and self love should start sooner rather than later, and should be part of your life routine.

The illustrations are wonderful. Capturing all different types of body types, hairstyles and dress styles. Highlighting the theme that being yourself is great. Always be you! To always love yourself, inside and outside. A great message that can be read by not only adolescent girls but all ages of women.

This was probably the cutest little book I've read. And not only is it cute, it has a very important message - love your body as it is. This book might be aimed for young girls first and foremost, but it is a great addition to any womans house and library. We all need to be reminded that we are great the way we are and this book can do just that.

Very good tips and the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. Love the diversity. The book really shows that ALL bodies are beautiful.

Lovely book, I wish something like this was around when I was younger.

Love Your Body is a beatifully illustrated book for young girls, who need a little advice around their changing bodies. The illustrations show diverse bodies, and the author's tone is very kind, accepting and calming.

I would definitely recommend this book, might buy a copy for my little sister too.

A charming, cheerful and crucial celebration of beautiful bodies and all the incredible and impressive things they can do and achieve, Love Your Body is the ultimate feel-good book of 2020!

This was a great book about body positivity for young women. The illustrations by Rosetti were exquisite and the text was positive, affirming, and smart. I would have liked to have seen something about exercise and diet in here, but it really didn't go that far. And by diet, I do not mean idiotic and ultimately useless schemes to 'lose pounds'. I mean nothing more than healthy eating.

One of the most crucial things about body positivity is taking positive care of your body regardless of how you feel about it or what shape it's in when you decide you're finally going to take charge of your life. An important part of loving yourself is taking care of yourself and I wish more books of this nature would make that point more forcefully.

That's my only complaint though. That and maybe a warning about mega-corporations owned by old white men who think they are somehow gifted arbiters of how young women ought to look, dress, shave, think, and make-up their faces!

Everything else about this book I loved! The illustrations made it clear that everyone was included, no matter their height, weight, skin color, religious beliefs, body shape, or physical abilities. It offered useful suggestions on how to approach those negative thoughts we all have from time to time, and ways to combat them, and it offered some contact information in the back in case you need it. But the real message here is that you got this! You're in charge. You can do it. And I believe that. I commend this book as a worthy read.

This is a wonderful book for the young ladies in your life. Not only does it express body positivity, and represents all bodies, but it addresses that women are so much more than the way they look. The recommended age is appropriate, and it was refreshing and necessary to see so much inclusion when addressing abilities, body types, race, etc. The representation was amazing. The illustrations follow the text well, and is done in a way that is also inviting. Great read!

Love Your Body - Jessica Sanders

I thought this book was amazing.
When I first began reading an ARC copy of Love Your Body, the title led me to believe that it was going to be another addition to the vast number of amazing books out there for kids all about the human body. But oh no, this is something so much more.
This book is aimed at young women in particular. It goes through loving yourself, your body and your differences. Most importantly it tells the reader that it is okay to feel sad or bad or strange or different. But instead of leaving it there Sander’s book goes one step further and advises these young women of how to find help and who to talk too. In this modern age of social media. Sexting and rising mental health problems (especially amongst children) this book is the perfect anecdote. It would make a great starter for a PSHE lesson or sex Ed’ topic.

Loved this book! My daughter may still be a bit young to understand all of it but she enjoyed it a lot too. The empowering message about healthy body image, positivity and self esteem is so important and done so well throughout the book. I adored the illustrations so much. Definitely a perfect book for any woman, young or old. Thanks so much for the copy of this wonderful book Jessica Sanders, NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books.

An amazing, positive book. I wish I had this when growing up. It’s sends such a positive message of self love and self acceptance and this should be forced down our throats as much as the diet Industry is, I can only hope things continue to change for the better as the existence of this book itself shows things are. Please schools and libraries stock this for young women (and boys need their own version too) Fabulous and thoroughly recommended to all young women and those older of us who need to be reminded we are how we are meant to be and should be proud.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

1. I want to hug this book and never let go.
2. Everyone need to have this book on their collection.

Seriously, this book. Can we have more books like this?
As someone who's dealing with body issues growing up, I wish this book was exist back then.
What a wonderful, amazing book. Thank you for writing this book. I sincerely hope this book would be translated to as many languages as possible.

A diverse book promoting self-care and love for your body. I can see this being useful especially with the older children in our school. Great illustrations and great message for girls.

This book is so beautiful. Not only is the artwork stunning, the message within is what every girl needs to read. It’s a little bit educational and a little bit inspirational in just the right amounts of each. Self-care and self-love are explored throughout this picture book with the overall message being self-acceptance of your body, at every stage. I love that this book is targeted to girls, but this book is actually perfect for woman of all ages. Would make a beautiful coffee table book or gift.

I've heard that children as young as 3 can have body issues, so I'm happy that there is a children's picture book that addresses this in a positive way. It shows a variety of body types doing many activities. This book would be perfect for children age 4 and above. It will certainly help spur positive conversations about all the wonderful things our bodies can do!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

This is not only a beautiful but (and mostly) an important book.

"Love your body" includes all types of bodies: big, small, tall, fat, thin, chubby, hairless, full of hair, freckled, disabled, bodies. It includes girls with vitiligo, stretch marks and cellulite, and let me repeat myself and mention disabled once again. It also includes many ethnicities, skin colors, eyes, hairs and ages. And know that it's not only meant for cis girls and those who identify as a girl, but whoever reads it, since (and I quote) "negative body image can affect anyone, regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation".

This is the kind of book that I'd have loved to read when I was a little girl. Sorry, let me rephrase that-- this is the kind of book that I'd have needed to read when I was a little girl. I think every kid should read this book, learn about their bodies and start loving themselves from a very young age. I also think they should learn about other bodies, not only to realize that their body is perfect the way it is but also to learn that other bodies follow the same rule, even if they're different. It helps with empathy and sisterhood, and makes a better human being in the proccess.

I also want to mention the little messages the author put in this book, that I think are incredible for healing for people like me, a full grown 25 years old woman, and super helpful for little kids: be kind to yourself. Listen to your body. Be kind both to your body and your mental health, because we all are giving the best of us and doing what we can, and that might be more or less of what the world is asking us to do. When it comes to your body and mental health, be mindful and respect its own limits, know yourself, try and follow your own rules to respect them. And if something's not feeling right, if there are negative thoughts that aren't going away, look for help. You're not less brave for doing so: we all need help sometimes.

For all of us that spent our teenage years suffering because we did want to love our bodies but our family, friends, beauty standards and/or society itself made it difficult-- this is the book we deserved. This is the kind of book that'll hopefully mark next generations, that I hope will be full of love for themselves and empowered as hell.

This is a very beautiful book celebrating body positivity and self-love. It features ideas for self-care and healthy ways to think about your body. All of the language is neutral, so even though the illustrations only feature girls and the author says this book is "written for girls and those who identify as girls," the text could truly apply to anyone. In fact, I wish the illustrations were more gender-diverse and the that this book was written for everyone-- non-binary readers included. Because the language is so very neutral, the diversity really comes from the illustrations, which features bodies of various sizes, heights, abilities, and colors, as well as bodies in hijab.

I also wish the resources in the back were more extensive, with specifically some fat positivity and LGBTQ+ resources included.

"Bodies are not just to be looked at and admires- our bodies are so much more than that."
Love Your Body is a book for children with an incredible positive message about self-acceptance and self-care. At the heart of it, it is a short, informative and beautifully illustrated book with a empowering message for young girls. I particularly loved the diverse representations of women's bodies in the illustrations. There were bodies of different shapes, sizes, skin tones, heights, styles and abilities- supporting the message that all bodies are wonderful. I wish there were book like this around when I was a child!

Body Shaming is so rooted in our culture that people don't even feel sorry about doing so! This has made a very deepening impact on the human psyche that people tend to have negative thoughts about their own bodies too!
Thus it becomes very important to remind ourselves that no matter what shape, size or colour our body has, WE OUGHT TO LOVE IT!
The book does its job perfectly of making us understand that it's Okay to be different. It's okay not to be fitting in the common frame of Good Body because no matter what we all are Beautiful in our own ways!!
I loved the ways suggested in the book so as to start loving our bodies more. They are easy, helpful and effective! The accompanying illustrations are amazing and unique individuals are beautifully represented.
Overall a Great Reminder for all of us to start loving our bodies more than we do!!

This was a wonderfully uplifting read! Really wish I could have read something like this when I was growing up and trying to come to grips with my appearance. 100% recommend this book to any young girl out there and will definitely pass it on to the younger girls in my family!

This book is 40 pages of complete beauty.
The age group is 8-12 years old, however, I am a 23 year old adult, and I think this is a book I needed.

This is a book that is beautifully illustrated, about loving your body. It included bodies of different colours, religion, physical features and disabilities.

There’s one line from this book that really stood out.

‘Your body will become bigger, and it will take up more space, and that’s okay!‘

As someone who developed an eating disorder as a young teen, this is a book I really could have done with and I am so glad it’s out in the world.

I’ve been really struggling again with my body image and reading this made me tear up. It’s a book that is needed by so many, no matter the age.

Although the book is aimed at young girls, the language inside isn’t gendered, and I love that. It could be so useful for people of all genders to have a book like this.

This is the easiest 5-star rating I’ve ever given. This is a beautiful book that deserves to be hyped up and viewed by so many people, no matter age, gender or race.

This is an incredibly important and powerful book that should be shared with young girls far and wide. It shows that we, as women, are more that what we look like and that we should be proud no mater what. It also shows that we all need help sometimes and gives ways to think positively.

Every child and every adult needs this book.

The message is clear, bold and necessary for everyone in the world today. The thoughts are well organized and the illustrations are beautiful and display incredible diversity.

I cannot recommend this book more strongly. It should be in every elementary, middle and high school library. Every family should have a copy and start reading it to their children from birth.

An early copy of this book was made available to me by the publisher through netgalley. This is my honest review.

I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley and Quatro Publishing Group in exchange for my honest review.

I thought this book was great! It teaches young girls to focus on their whole being instead of their body image and their insecurities. This book teaches girls to focus on all the positive things our bodies can do. This book also includes exercises for your brain to help young girls improve their self-image.

I love how positive and encouraging this title is. I can easily see it having a place in elementary, middle, and high school library collections.

My Daughter is having confidence issues with her body shape changing, so I was so pleased that @netgalley allowed me to review this one. This is an illustrated book that was just animated slightly so that you were not smacked in the face by nudity. I personally did not like the art but each to their own. We found it very useful and helped us answer some questions and explore other avenues. It helped cover things we had not thought about too. I think this book has taken some of the worry away and hopefully we can restore a little confidence to build on. #netgalley #amazon #kindle #goodreads.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Love Your Body is a nonfiction book for female-identifying children, tweens, and teenagers about self-acceptance and body positivity. This book is a great companion to staples such as The Body Book by American Girl, especially because it is inclusive of girls of many different races, ethnicities, sizes, and abilities. The book is pretty general and doesn't go into the same detail as other puberty books, and would have possibly benefitted from such detail; instead the book functions more as a primer on confidence. I would recommend this book for between ages 8-13, but it would be appropriate for younger and older girls. It would make a great gift book to accompany "the talk," entering middle school, or other milestones during the awkward years of puberty.

I loved this book! I loved the message and even though this is directed at young/preteen girls like my 12 year old I think any woman of any age can connect with it. Thank you netgalley and the publisher Quarto publishing group for sending me an e arc for my honest opinion!

Wow what an amazing and powerful book. I think everyone should read this book and share it with everyone they know! This book helps the reader to love their body and be proud of what your body can do. I really liked the page of self care help and the message of if you still don't feel happy then to talk to someone to help you. Thank you for the opportunity to review this amazing book.

Jessica Sanders writing is absolutely beautiful! The message she displays in Love Your Body is one I wish I had a young child. I read this to my son and he said he got chills. Out of the mouth of babes.

I adored <i>Love Your Body</i>. I think self-love and self-care is such an important message. I truly wish I would have had this picture book when I was younger because I still needed the message this book had. The book also has tips on how to handle negative thoughts which I also think is so important. I like to think if I had had this book when I was younger, I might have been a bit kinder to myself about my beautiful body. Even now, I need to be reminded to be kind to myself.

I really loved this. This is everything I needed and more when I was younger, and still do today. I don't know a life without my insecurities and I wish I had this book when I was a teenager. There are a lot of encouraging messages and tips in here that will really help you when you're struggling and feeling down. I also really loved the art style and how inclusive it was. They showed people of all shapes and sizes, skin colours and with different disabilities. I would recommend this to everyone with insecurites, because everyone needs to hear these messages sometimes. I also think I'll be reaching for this book again when I need a reminder that I should love my body and everything it's capable of.

I Loved this book. This book is meant for young children but I say everyone should read it.

Many people around us cannot accept themselves. Some are tall, short, thin and thick. This is not a defect. Everyone is unique and they should love themselves.

The authors say about self-care and self-love in an impressive way within 21 pages book with lot of illustrations. The ideas narrated to make oneself love from inside and outside is really good.

This was an amazing book that sends a wonderful message. As an asian I really appreciated the diversity. Lots of times people think they are being inclusive and diverse by having one black character. But this book had lots of girls and women from many different ethnicities. I loved how one girl had cellulite and body hair. An overall great read that I highly recommend!

This was amazing. This needs to be given to everyone, so that they can read this. The message is so important: that everyone's body is perfect the way it is.

I got this book from Netgalley and the publisher

Review A good colourful way to illustrate to teens that bodies aren't all the same and a way to promote acceptance of this and different abilities, as well as accept people for who they are, not judge their appearence or skin colour. I wish this book was around when I was young. Clear, quick and concise.

5 stars

I loved this book and its message of developing a healthy, caring relationship with our bodies whatever shape and size they come in and whatever abilities they have. In the author's note Jessica Sanders points out that although it was written for girls and those who identify as a girl, what the book is saying through words and pictures is universal. I couldn't agree more!
Fabulous artwork by Carol Rossetti. I'll be looking forward to reading more books written by this autor and illustrated by this artist.

This is another book that I wish I had in my hands when I was younger and am so happy children have access to now. While this book is aimed at girls, because body issues definitely plague them more than boys their same age, this book never uses gendered terms and is indeed, for everyone. I loved the representation of all body types and the message made my heart happy. Wonderful book.

This is a good book for children especially girls with some difficulties to see how beautiful and unique they are.
It works even for older children, because you got a good opportunity to get into a conversation with them and discuss how different we all are and the we are all good like we are.
Even as a grown up women sometimes you forget that it is not always about how you look, that it is what's inside you that matters.

Thanks for letting me read this book

This book should be on every child's bookshelf!  It will help to counter the negative feelings that so many kids seem to grow up with in terms of how their body looks and/or functions.  This title encourages and reminds children to appreciate all that their body can do and to love it exactly how it is.  Highly recommended!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adore this book.
This would be a great way to introduce body diversity and self-care to your children.
The story shows children that it is important to love yourself and take care of yourself.
The drawings are gorgeous. The characters represent a lot of different body shapes, heights, and skin colours. I also really like that some of the characters are featured multiple times, it gives the book more of a story feel rather than a non-fiction book normally might.
I also really like that there is attention for acceptance and normalization of bad days and a range of feelings. They are an important part of life, happiness doesn't shine without knowing the opposite, and I think it is necessary to teach children how to also deal with the mundane, sad, and difficult.

This would make a great gift and deserves to be a staple in every child's bookcase.

This was a great read - and it will be an amazing picture book for girls all ages. Even though it focuses on appreciating our bodies and positivity, it doesn't stay away from the hard days when being kind to ourselves might not be as easy and I really really appreciated that!

The main message is be whoever you want to be!

The illustrations are great and inclusive, and I loved each detail on each page.
