This story follows a young, fearless woman who has had to overcome more trials and hardships than most people will ever have to deal with in their life. I was shocked at Nishani's ability to mold and adapt to each new situation as she encountered it.
Between the characters and the intensely steamy love connection with Colton Black, it was entertaining to the end. I didn't love the rapidly changing points in time at the beginning of the book and I do wish this story underwent additional editing for errors and repetition, but I praise the author for her ability to write strong characters that have overcome deeply dark experiences.
I found this book to pack too many cliche romance plots into one timeline for my taste and wish the story utilized a clearer show don't tell narration, however, lovers of action-packed romances will be delighted with this choice.

My Review: This is the first book I’ve read by Charlene Namdhari and I highly enjoyed it. I didn’t read the previous book in this series and I was able to understand what was happening just fine. I didn’t think this story was very dark, it had elements of sexual abuse and torture, but it wasn’t very explicit and overly disturbing. Colton and Nishi are great characters and I loved that their relationship felt genuine and their chemistry was wonderfully sexy. I liked that they were mature adults and although they fought their feelings, they didn’t manipulate each other and act like teenagers. The story was interesting, had action and danger, and watching Colton and Nishi fall in love was exciting. I’ll definitely be checking out more from this author.

Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion. Charlene Namdhari took my heart and soul for a wild ride. I laughed. I cried. I hurt. I rejoiced. I read the warning about the graphic nature and boy was it intense. But I must say that this book gave victims a voice. It gave rape victims a victory. It was written with such love and care. The ending gave me all the peace I needed.

Nishani was kidnapped at the age of 17 and used and abused until she is able to escape and plot her revenge against those who hurt her. When she thinks her life is back to normal she is taken again but escapes and runs into the arms of Colton Black. He finds Nishani badly beaten and unable to remember all of her past. Will Colton let her into is dark and private world? Fast-paced intense read with lots of drama, steam and action. I was hooked on this read from beginning to end. I loved it!

I ended up liking this book a lot, I have even downloaded the first book in the series. I was occasionally taken out of the story by the authors continued use of the word “tummy”. When referring to adults, especially during a sex scene, “tummy” doesn’t fit.

This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.
This is the first book by Charlene Namdhari that I have read. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed how the characters grew and interacted with each other in this book. I will purchase more of her books.

Nishani, kidnapped, abused, and seeking revenge! Colton, cold, dark, and handsome! When these 2 come together sparks fly! First time reading this author, will not be last! Great book full of lust, revenge, intrigue! If you like dark romance this is the book for you!
