Having recently read the book in this series about Greta Thunberg I see many similarities between her and Gandhi. Each of them saw injustice and sat quietly in the way.
When I was young I loved reading books about countries overseas, and following a world leader's story is a great way to start understanding history as well as geography. The simple colourful drawings help us to see the different societies, while the story can't possibly reflect all that happened in a short book, it does give a great start and basic information.
This would be a great class read or family discussion point. Any reader 6 - 10 would be interested, younger if parents are reading with the children.

I downloaded an e-ARC from Net Galley. This is an unbiased review.

I love these Little People, Big Dreams books for my 7 year old daughter. She loves to read and she seems to remember the information from these little books. The pictures are really nice to look at and my daughter and I discuss all of the artwork and talk about what it means. I highly recommend these books for your early reader.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

I absolutely adore this series of books, and so far cannot fault one in any single way.
This book is about an amazing man Mahatma Gandhi who protested for the rights of people in peaceful, nonviolent ways.
These books are about influential people who never gave up in what they believed in and made a difference in some way to the world.

Moving story starting with a small boy who believed it is wrong to tell lies. I liked the details of the pictures, like the his mother's loom appearing in one of the later illustrations.

Yes, this is a simplified story of how Gandhi fought for basic rights for Indian people, but then it's a story for toddlers and also reduced to 32 pages with only one or two sentences on each. I think it's a great introduction to a great man, and this is the kind of story I'd like children to grow up with.

Mahatma Gandhi is a beautiful addition to the series and such an inspiration for children to learn about and from. I couldn't remember the full story of Gandhi so it was lovely to see the story put in such a lovely and understandable way for children.

The story of Gandhi shows such determination and loyalty to his people and their country and it is great to see how he achieved so much without having to result in violence. It is great for children to see that you can make a difference whilst still being yourself and kind to others. It is inspiring to see how Gandhi reacted to each problem he was confronted with.

The illustrations are beautiful with natural coloured hand drawn style pictures that show Gandhi's environment in a lovely way and one that gives it a very realistic feel to the book. It will allow children to see that life for Gandhi is very different to how they live their life but they can still see that Gandhi faves some problems that are still around to a degree today.

This is a lovely book for children to see how Gandhi lived his life to put others first and stood up for what he believed in.

I love this collection. I think it’s a great idea for the little ones, like all the things in the world, if you want to know more about something, you need to go deeper. this is only the basic history about a great man. But it’s ok for a little one. To wake up their minds.

A delightful book with pleasing illustrations, Mahatma Gandhi is richly descriptive for 5-10 year olds even though it is in board book format.

I read Little People, Big Dreams- Mahatma Gandhi in order to see the level of complexity for 4-7 year olds. The art work is absolutely delightful. Gandhi looks his cutest best. The text is simple and readable for 4 year olds on their own. Definitely worth considering for your young one. It's also for those who are looking for some inspiration for children's book art work, like I was. I really appreciate Maria Sanchez Vegara and Albert Arraya's attempt to expose children to more diverse stories of important people from round the worl.d.

Mahatma Gandhi by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is another beautiful addition to the Little People, BIG DREAMS series that I have come to cherish. I would urge anyone, particularly those who have now entered into the new territory of homeschooling, to consider acquiring this wonderful collection.

The spotlight this time is on Indian civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi. I was surprised to learn that the name Mahatma means 'great soul' and was not, in fact, Gandhi's birth name, but one that he adopted. The illustrations by Albert Arrayas provide the perfect complement to the text in a style that is both unique and fitting to Gandhi's life and accomplishments.

As always, I come away from this book feeling not only entertained, but with the acquisition of new knowledge, and a sheer delight in knowing that this wonderful series exists to be enjoyed by generations to come.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books for this ARC.

Mahatma Gandhi is the newest to be spotlighted in this latest edition of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. This series is such a delight and the perfect way to educate not just kids but everyone about historic and cultural icons.

Gandhi was a lawyer and an anti-colonial nationalist who ended up leading the first peaceful resistance movement ever. This book details Gandhi's journey of becoming a lawyer to him becoming on of the most famous leaders for justice and civil rights.

Albert Arrayás illustrates this installment and does an fantastic job. J Arrayás' art style was so captivating and his art definitely further helped tell Ghandis' story. This installment easily became one of my favorite in the series. I love collecting these books and am so thrilled to add this one to the rest of my collection.

Mahatma Ghandi, born in India and educated in Great Britain, became a symbol for civil rights in India and South Africa. He used peaceful protests to inspire people from around the globe.

This book describes Mahatma Ghandi’s life in detail, but in easily understood language for children. The illustrations are well done.

As an educator, I would recommend this book to children to see that they can do big things. Everyone can make a difference.

The inclusion of a white dove on every illustration nicely encapsulates Gandhi's core message that change can be achieved by peaceful nonviolent action.

To date, this is one of my favourite books featured in the "Little People, Big Dreams" series which recounts the lives of inspirational people for the young.

Here, the reader can obtain some basic biographical details about the subject which may well lead to further reading.

A timeline at the end provides also a useful summary.

One of the things that makes this series so special are the quirky and colourful illustrations. This is particularly so in this case as we see Gandhi come to terms with living in London while studying.

Well worth obtaining for your child or class.

A lovely and inspiring book about Mahatma Gandhi and the impact he had on the civil rights of Indians against the British Empire. It gives a succinct summary of his life. I would suggest this to promote discussion with children capable of thinking about the racism and oppression Indians faced. This is one of my favorites in this series!

The newest addition to the Little People, BIG DREAMS series highlights the biography of Mohandas Gandhi, the father of India.

This little boy lived in a city by the Indian coast. He had a huge heart and his mother taught him to be honest and always truthful. He dreamed of a world where no living thing was hurt, and where everyone wanted the best for all.

At age 19 he travelled to London to attend law school. After earning his degree he went to South Africa to practise law. His eyes were open to the fact that life as an Indian in South Africa was not easy and they were treated very unfairly by the white people living there. Gandhi decided to protest against the inequality and staged the first peaceful resistance movement ever. He sat quietly in the middle of the street and soon thousands of Indians joined him.

From that time on Gandhi started dreaming of ways to unite people and religions. He continued to organize and lead peaceful protests to free India from British rule that would end violence and unfair treatment. His steadfast, brave stand turned him into one of the most iconic people of peace in the entire world. He became known as Mahatma, meaning 'great soul.'

The illustrations are very well done. They are detailed enriching the text greatly. The author has included a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the activist's life. I recommend this book and the whole series.

5 out of 5 🌟The Father of India

Little People, Big Dreams are short children books about exceptional people who changed the way we’re looking at the world now. They're enjoyable pieces of non-fiction to savor along with your tiny humans. I love biographies of people who dared to be different, and these short books are one of my favorites.

Each book in the series is illustrated by different artists with their unique style that even non-art-savvy like me can appreciate. 'Mahatma Gandhi' is painted by Albert Arrays with pencils and watercolors and his images fit perfectly into a very tea-like climate of British colonies from a century ago.

The story itself depicts the life of Mohandas (who then became Mahatma Gandhi) as an activist who made his non-violent fight towards India freedom. Even if this short book is destined for children, it contains a lot of information concentrated on an encyclopedic-style page at the end. Most importantly, everything is put in a simple and small kids-friendly way that also speaks to adults.

The read is appropriate for K–2G readers or read-along with parents for younger ones. It's informative and compelling for both adults and children.

I read this heartwarming book with my son, my children and I love reading the Little People Big Dreams series of books and discuss the inspiring people each one is based on.
Each book is based on well known, influential people from around the world and through time. Introducing our young children to important topics which have major impact on our world.

This book introduces our children to Mahatma Gandhi, one of the worlds greatest activists for non-violent resistance. Mahatma Gandhi was raised to respect all living things and fought against racial segregation by peacefully protesting.
I loved this delightful little book with beautiful illustrations, particularly the little peace dove throughout.

These are a wonderfully accessible series of books about incredibly inspirational people; people who our children should know about and have very important messages to share with us. This is a board book version of the hardback with simple sentences for a younger audience. They're very much a picture book biography and a great introduction to a more fact based style of book for a younger audience. Personally, I would probably recommend this book more from around 3 years +. #MahatmaGhandhi #Netgalley Thank you NetGalley and Quarto/Frances Lincoln for the digital review copy.

This biography for kids is about Mahatma Ghandi, a man who became a great leader of India and was the originator of the peaceful protest..

The Little People, Big Dreams series is a great series for young children to learn about the great people who came before them. If you have children or grandchildren who want to learn about the past, you will like this series.

Mahatma Gandhi was someone who could see what was clearly wrong and show his strength through peaceful protests. This book is beautifully illustrated and not only showcases Gandhi’s spiritual leadership, but gives an accurate timeline to what he went through in his lifetime.

I received two of these to review so this is my second jump into this collection of books. I preferred this out of the two, likely because there was more information to share and I preferred this delicate illustration style for this book. There was more information to go through and it was delivered in small snippets perfect for a childrens book. Though I enjoyed the style, I found all the pages a little too similar and would of liked some change of pace. The last illustrated spread was my favourite and thought it was a lovely end to the book.

I love this series: Little People Big Dreams, short, kid friendly biographies, of people they study! This one chronicles the life of Mahatma Gandhi, and shares the prejudice he faced, even when he was educated in London and working in South Africa. It also includes how he used peaceful protest to make change in the world, even harvesting his own salt to protest the British's high prices. The soft illustrations add to the text and help children understand on their level who Mahatma Gandhi was, why he was important, and some of the adversity he faced.

This series of biographies are a wonderful beginning for kids just learning about historical figures. The pictures are inviting and energetic. The text is simple without being simplistic. The ideas presented leave enough room for kids to do research but tell enough to help them understand why the person is famous. A very nice book and a very nice series.

The “Little People, Big Dreams” series is a big hit in my house, and this addition was every bit as popular. The images were completely charming, and really held my daughter’s attention. The pace of, and level of detail in, the story were just right for my young child, and I learned something too!

Like so many others in this series, it proved a great starting point for more discussion. I know that my daughter will get more and more from this book every time we read it, which will be fairly often judging on how well-received it was!

This title is another entry in the inspiring series on famous men and women. This entry on Gandhi is another winner that will find a welcome spot on young children's bookshelves.

Gandhi is portrayed as an idealist who dreamed of a better world. However, he also saw the world with its flaws. Gandhi's contributions and biography are detailed in this beautifully illustrated book. Anyone who reads this book and thinks about peaceful protest will recognize the contributions of this man who abhorred racism and the mistreatment of his fellows.

This book is highly recommended. It is a book for our time and, hopefully, will influence our youngest as they grow. Mahatma means "great soul." This man certainly had one.

Another great non-fiction picture book in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series.

I didn't know much about Mahatma Gandhi as he wasn't a figure discussed much in the history classes I taught. Most of what I know is from the news, YouTube and vague references in other works. It was great to be able to pick up a little book and learn something! Even adults can learn from these children picture books. That's a great thing about this series!

I will advise readers to remember that these books are for children and introduce historical figures. Gandhi was not perfect or a saint, he was human, but we don't need to teach young children (that's the market segmentation for this book, by the way) about all the bad in the world. Give them some information about the individual and let them do more research after.

I adore this series, and I totally recommend picking this up if you want to add some non-fiction picture books to your shelves! They are short, sweet, and packed full of useful information. These books make non-fiction biographies fun for kids!

Four out of five stars.

Our 2nd Little People, BIG DREAMS book this week. This one tells the story of Gandhi, targeted specifically for the littles. This short picture book is full of appealing illustrations depicting key moments in Gandhi's life from his childhood in India, through his young adult times in South Africa, and later his time in India. We learn of his work to help fight for the rights of the Indian people. The story is written in a way that is understandable to my kindergartener. I highly recommend this series to help teach the kiddos about people who have made a difference in the world.

We loved the book and history, and the illustrations were lovely. It is a beautiful addition to this series.

This time we get a very condensed biography of Mahatma Gandhi. Although it was short and sweet there were a few tidbits of information that I learned for the first time while reading this book and I was compelled to learn more.

These biographies are age appropriate; inspiring and interesting, but not overwhelming. They have bright, beautiful illustrations, striking covers, and look great on a shelf together.

Mahatma Gandhi is another fantastic addition to my favourite series of children's non-fiction books.

This is such a remarkable series. I already purchased some of the volumes for my library.
And I am sure going to buy more.
With this books you got that chance to get to communicate even with small children about some real and special people.

And in times likes these it is so important to teach our kids that there have been people, with ideas and dreams who worked hard and get the job done, no matter what.

I really, really love those books and I love working with them and bring some kids to dream of what they can accomplish if the only try.

So thank you for letting me read those.
