Maxon Extended Edition (Angelbound Offspring #1)

I was surprised how much I liked this book, had me eager to keep reading and not put down, I loved tbs characters, especially Myla, she was a kick ass strong character, who is not afraid to stand up to people and fight for what she believes in. Lovable characters and very enjoyable. I a can not want to read the rest of the series.

Mit „Maxon“ hat meine wunderbare Reise in die Welt von Dragons, Thrax, Elementals und so weiter begonnen und ich bin begeistert. Obwohl ich die Vorgängerreihe nicht kenne, war ich doch gleich in dieser Welt, fühlte mich zuhause.
Anfangs waren die Begriffe etwas schwer zu verstehen bzw. zu merken, aber spät. Ab dem ersten Viertel war ich voll drinnen. Das war auch ungefähr der Zeitpunkt, wo sich Maxon und Lianna das erste mal getroffen haben. Die Dynamik der beiden war wunderbar. Ich hab es so genossen, dass Lianna zwar eine starke Prota ist, aber auch ihre Schwäche gleich mal bei Maxon zugelassen hat. Ihre Tränen, seinen Halt. Ich fand es super, dass sich beide auch gleich mal ihrer Gefühle bewusst wurden und es kein ewiges Hin und Her wurde. Maxon war ein toller Prota, sexy, frech, aber auch liebenswürdig und ein Kämpfer: für seine Familie, seine Leute, seine Schöne.
Das „Wir“ war einfach schön und der Zusammenhalt mega. Es ist so viel passiert, und doch hab ich das Buch in einem Rutsch durchgelesen. Auch die Freunde von Maxon sind super, geben ihm Halt, stehen hinter ihm. Besonders Ty fand ich super, ich hoffe, ich bekomme vom Warlock noch mehr zu lesen.
Definitiv eine Empfehlung für alle, die gerne eine schöne Liebesgeschichte lesen, welche hier aber nicht zu sehr in den Vordergrund drückt und noch eine Menge Raum für Spannung und Abenteuer frei lässt.

Maxon brought me into a world full of wonders: dragons, thrax, elementals und much more and from the start I was mesmerized. Even though I did not read (yet) the story of Maxon’s parents, I felt home in their world, welcomed.
In the beginning it was a bit hard with certain words and terminology, but after finishing the first quarter, I’ve fully arrived. This was also the moment, when Maxon and Lianna met for the first time. I loved their dynamic, their behaviour. Lianna is a strong female, however, she does allow herself weakness when being with Maxon, from basically the start, which I really enjoyed. Sharing her tears, her nightmares, but also accepting his strength, him holding her. I really enjoyed that both of them were quite conscious about their feelings and it wasn’t a constant back and forth. Well written. Maxon was sexy, dreamy, sassy but also so full of love for his family, friends and Lianna. A true warrior prince.
“We” is something I enjoyed between Maxon and Lianna, and their trust and connection. So much happened, but they did it together, conquered it together. Also Maxon’s friends were amazing, although I could have seen more of Ty. For some reason I also fell in love with the warlock.
Definitely a recommendation from my side and those readers who love a good love story, which is not domineering the overall book but also offers amazing battle, adventure and magic.

This book opens with Maxon and the gang doing what they do best; demon hunting with style. Maxon may have angel blood, but he is also part Furor Demon. Which means he has powers across two deadly sins, Lust and Wrath. And in his opinion, these are the very best ones. I'd say so too, especially because he is super sexy and even has a black tail with a tip like an arrowhead that can be used as a weapon. Maxon has all of this going on but that is not everything, he is also a high prince. Liana is one of Namare's apprentices, the Monarkki of water, and currently she is running late to practice. While she is hurrying along, she receives a vision like memory from Franklin, a flying water frog. She learns that her people are in danger from Zephyr, the Monarkki of air. When she finally arrives to practice she is confronted by her egotistical ex-lover, Fisk. However, as the truly badass and independent woman she is, Liana does not take any of his crap, and this is one of the many reasons I instantly her character. A lot goes down, some very serious and gut-wrenching drama. One good thing is that all this leads to Maxon and Liana meeting. This is one of my favourite parts of the book because neither one of them really knows what to make of the other. Liana is spoiling for a fight mainly because she is awesome and wants to prove she is nobody's "girl". (By the way, she has very good reasons for this attitude). Anyways, it results in a sexual tension that is palpable and as they get to know each other, they learn they have more in common than they thought. (And it's all very romantic!)This is not just a love story. It's a love story, of course, but it packs a major punch. Maxon and Liana make a great team while they battle in life and death situations. Honestly, it's not just their lives on the line, its everyone who is part of their different worlds, too. And what an ending! Very unexpected but, this is Christina Bauer we are talking about, so you know its awesome. Be sure to read the entire epilogue, because the excitement continues on to the very last line.

Loved Maxon. I wasn't sure when i picked it up but I fell into it easily for anyone who likes Christina Bauers work this is another good one. Friendship, Demons, Love , Fighting it is all there. 5 stars can't wait for the next one. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review it. Recommended.

Maxon by Christina Bauer was so exhilarating to read!

This book was definitely much different than I normally prefer with my books but it was so epic I couldn't put it down.

Each chapter you read flips from Lianna back to Maxon and you get both views throughout their adventure together and discovering love.

Although there was a very vast fantasy world that Christina built it definitely worked well with the story. You were in the after-realms with the elementals, they talk about hell, heaven, purgatory and "cloud-side" which was earth.

Such a great suspense, thriller, romance, adventure novel.

I am picking up the next book called Portia RIGHT NOW!

SUCH AN AMAZING START OF THE SERIES. TRULY LOVED IT.
TOOK ME TO ANOTHER WORLD ALMOST INSTANTLY. THE BOOK STARTS WITH A FIGHT AND THAT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING WAY TO START A BOOK. A WHOLE NEW CONCEPT WITH SO MUCH TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND. BOTH MAXON AND LIANNA WAS SO DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER, WITH SO MUCH DIFFERENT POWERS YET CONNECTED IN WAY THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. THE WHOLE ELEMENTAL CONCEPT I REALLY LIKED.
CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE NEXT INSTALLMENT IN THE SERIES.

Although I haven't read the original Angelbound series, now that I've read Maxon's book, I'm completely sold!
Having no idea about the world inside these books, I had a little difficulty in the first chapters to understand the world, the realms, all kind of characters, elementals, thrax, demons, angels… I believe as of chapter 3 I’ve really started devouring it.
It kept me up all night two nights in a row, is THAT good! On to Portia now 😊
I foresee lots of nights with no sleep as I have all 5 books in the series 😃

Christina Bauer does an excellent job presenting the reader with a kick-butt team of demon hunters! Maxon Extended Edition is a great read for teens and adults. It will keep you interested and wanting more.
