This book deserves more than 5 stars. I would certainly give it more
I loved this book from the very start and couldn't put it down until I was finished with it.
Sadie did certainly have a lot going on for her throughout this book. I must say I admired her very much and I her attitude through the book was awesome! I was so very proud of her!
Wyman I wasn't so sure about and he proved me right on this account. He wasn't my cup of tea. In fact I felt sorry for him because he wouldn't/couldn't see past the end of his own nose!
Family is supposed to mean everything right? I think in this case it's so very true. Family needs to stick together in whether it's a crisis, health, and prosperity as well. I thought this family did rather well. They had something most families don't.
The Lord is good and He's there for all of us if we only let Him be.
I love that Michael and Lovina is a strong and stalwart couple. They do set a perfect example for everything that holds a marriage together and I appreciate that aspect. They are by no means perfect and I liked that about them.
Brunstetter has written a beautiful story one that I would reread again and again because of the wonderful characters that are portrayed in this book. It was really good to see some characters from the previous books and what they've been up to. I've really missed them.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about the Amish. This book is sooooo good!
Here's a little something for you to think about as you read this book.
“I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Philippians 4: 11.
It's hard I know because I'm at discontent at times and that old green eyes monster raises it's ugly head and it makes me unhappy at times. But, there are also good things that come to those who wait and with this I'll come to a close.
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book and I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I love how this book is the continuation of the Hawaiian series. It was so much fun to catch up with the four friends with a particular focus on Sadie and her relationships.

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc

I very much enjoyed reading the Blended Quilt, and having a chance to read about Sadie's interests and experiences. It's been a pleasure reading about her and her close friends in each of Wanda and Jean Brunstetters books about the foursome. I found it extremely interesting how Sadie brought together her interests in Hawaiian culture and quilting and found similarities with her Amish traditions and Amish quilting patterns. Sadie's concerns about her relationship with Wyman can resonate with any woman who is hoping for a relationship to move forward, and in wanting her significant other to show steadiness and responsibility. Her experiences in writing a book and promoting it bring to light the struggles that Amish people tend to face nowadays- of straddling the modern world and trying to keep true to the Amish beliefs and separate lifestyle. Wanda Brunstetter, and now her daughter in law Jean, do a beautiful job portraying this. I would highly recommend the Blended Quilt to other fans of the Amish genre. It could be read as a stand alone, but i do recommend reading the earlier books in the series first for a richer knowledge of the characters mentioned.

Middlebury, Indiana.
Sadie Kuhn is part of a large family: parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters.
She works in a hardware store in Shipshewana, she likes quilting, she is courted by Wyman, an irresponsible, untrusting man.
Sometimes material things let us forget the very important things in life, such as family, God.
As always the authors teach us something about Plain life and about all how to enjoy simple things and how important are the love of family and friend.

Another amazing story from Wanda E. Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter!
After a trip with friends to the Hawaiian Islands main character Sadie can't get the beauty of the islands out of her head. She decides to make a quilt with an Amish pattern combined with a Hawaiin pattern. With a struggling relationship with her boyfriend Wyman, who can't seem to settle down at a job he likes, which makes her worry he can't settle down in a serious relationship. With ups and downs with family and Wyman things do settle down in the end.
Sadie has an amazing relationship with her family, I love reading about Amish life and the tight knit relationships with the family and community.
As always Wanda E. Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter do an amazing job of showing the true reality of what an Amish lifestyle is all about. I always appreciate the fact these 2 authors have Amish relatives, and I always know when I read their books I get a true look into what the lifestyle is truly like! Even though it seems very peaceful to us "Englischers" but it's nice to see that even the peaceful life has ups and downs with relationships, stress, etc.
Thank you for the good read again, I can't wait for the next books. I am going to read the Hawaiin series to find out what happened with the other 3 friends that went along on the original trip. I do wish I would've read them 1st, but this book can also read as a stand alone without reading the other Hawaiin books. But I can't wait to read them as well!
Thank you to Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced ecopy of this book. I truly enjoyed it and I haven't only been asked for my opinion and not paid for it or asked to give a positive review.

Another great book in the Hawaiian series written by these authors.

We find Sadie Kuhns, being the last of the four friends who travelled to Hawaii, as the last to not be married and starting a family.

She has been courting Wayman Kauffman and expecting him to propose at anytime, however, he doesn’t seem to be ready to settle down to any one job. He works a while, then quits and she is very hesitant to make a commitment.

She creates a beautiful quilt that is blended from an Amish design and a Hawaiian design.
Others suggest she should use her creativity to write a book about the quilt and create other designs that are blended as well.

Many things change substantially in her life, making this a very interesting book that you don’t want to put down until the end.

I highly recommend this book. Thanks to Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Continuing on with their story about a group of friends who visit Hawaii and how their lives are changed by it, in this story Sadie is facing a lot of trials in her life. Her longtime boyfriend up and quits his job, making her believe that he doesn't really care about a future together, so they break up. Sadie decides to spend her time making a quilt using a mix of a traditional Amish pattern and a Hawaiian one she learned during her trip, which also leads to her thoughts on writing a book. Meanwhile, her namesake aunt, Sadie, dies and singles her out to receive a lot of money. Why did she choose Sadie? And what should she do with the money? While it will help her get a new buggy horse, should she use it for her book or to help others?

This is a good wrap up to the series as the reader gets a final look at all the girls' lives and what they are up to. A lot of stuff happens in this book, but all loose ends get tied up finally.

The Blended Quilt by Wanda E. and Jean Brunstetter is a beautiful story of quilts and family relationships. Sadie Kuhns is being courted by Wyman Kaufman but he is not very settled and she is not sure this will lead to a marriage. When her aunt dies in an accident and leaves her a large inheritance, she realizes she has choices. She enjoys making quilts and has been inspired by her trip to Hawaii and the similarities between Hawaiian and Amish quilts. How can she incorporate this love into a special quilt? Will she get notoriety from her quilt making and how will if affect her relationship with family and Wyman?
I really enjoyed this book. Some authors tend to portray the Amish as almost perfect in their actions and relationships. The Brunstetter’s portray them as real people with real feelings and reactions to circumstances. That is one of the main reasons I love to read their books. This one is no exception. Characters feel a range of emotions from jealousy to greed to anger and get their feelings hurt at times. This book is very well written and I give it a 5 of 5 stars.

This is an Amish Fiction/Clean Romance/Christian Fiction. This book is not like any other Amish Fiction book I have read in the past, and I loved it so much. I love that this book is a totally unique, and it covers the Amish in a different way. I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the characters, and the way this book is written where you get to hear what the characters are thinking and how they are feeling. I loved it so much that I pre-order the Audiobook on CD for my Grandmother, and I know she is going to love it as well. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Shiloh Run Press) or author (Jean and Wanda E. Brunstetter) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on November 1-2020.

The Blended quilt took a different twist than what I'm used to in Amish books. This isn't a bad thing and in fact I loved it because the main character, Sadie Kuhns, reaches out beyond her capabilities to try something that most Amish ladies wouldn't a even consider. It wasn't an easy thing for her to accomplish and she faced a lot of challenges along the way, but giving up and quitting never entered her mind . The finished product was worth all the sacrifice and hard work that Sadie had poured into it.
Sadie had a steady boyfriend she had been dating for years. Wyman Kaufman is somewhat of an irresponsible guy, drifting from job to job. Never staying long in any one place. Sadie is beginning to see little potential in the relationship. Would he ever settle down and propose marriage to her?
Wyman thought Sadie was too preoccupied in other things and didn't want to spend much time with him. Why couldn't Sadie be like other Amish girls instead of burying herself in some worthless project that had little to do with plain living? Maybe it was time to end the relationship and move on with his life.
Readers of Amish Fiction and fans of Wanda Brunstetter and Jane Brunstetter will enjoy this book. The Blended Quilt is part of The Hawaiian Quilt series and readers will have the opportunity to catch up on their favorite characters from that series. I really enjoyed the flow and pace of this book and hope you will too. I'm glad I made it a part of my 2020 reading challenge.

"The Blended Quilt" tells the story of Sadie, her unexpected inheritance, her on and off romance with Wyman, and the blended Amish/Hawaiian quilt she designs. As Sadie's life goes in unexpected directions, Sadie discovers her true passions, her true love, and how to combine the blessings of her life into the life she desires. There are many unexpected twists and turns in this story, including the romance aspect which leaves you hanging until the very end. This is another well-written, enjoyable book by favorite Amish writers!

Sadie Kuhns took a cruise with her friends to Kauai Hawaii to visit an old friend. Sadie was a quilter and she got many new ideas for quilts from Hawaii she made a pineapple themed quilt that combined with an Amish pattern.
Sadie had a boyfriend named Wyman who was a job-skipper who Sadie loved but could not count on or expect him to support her.
Then, Sadie's life changed-her Aunt Sadie tragically passed away and left Sadie a fortune - now what does an Amish person do with a windfall?

I could not relate more to a novel than I did The Blended Quilt. Every page put a smile to my face because in some way shape or form I am going through the same important tough life decisions as Sadie and Wyatt. Being a librarian and a future up and coming freelance writer and my marriage to my husband is the most important thing to me, I need to do whatever it takes to keep that strong as ever. Unlike the struggles of Sadie and Wyatt, my husband and I know that this will all be worth it in the end and we will stick together no matter the circumstances. It is always nice to read a book that is driven by a similar situation that you went through in which all the more reason to count your blessings.

We will consider adding this title to our Christian Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Another Amish romance by Jean Brunstetter and Wanda E. Brunstetter!! In the past, I’ve reviewed Twice as Nice Amish Romance and A Heartwarming Romance Collection. I especially enjoy The Blended Quilt because it ties in my home state of Hawaii into it! Oh, I never realized there were similarities in Amish and Hawaiian quilting!

The Blended Quilt by Jean Brunstetter & Wanda E. Brunstetter. Barbour Publishing, Inc. Release date: 11/01/2020. ISBN: 9781643526010
I’ve read a few books by these ladies and I’ve enjoyed them all quite a bit. I really enjoy reading about the Amish. The Philadelphia Dutch is becoming familiar to read, if only I knew how to speak it! The Amish way of life is an enticing one that leaves out so much of our hustle and bustle of daily life rushing here or there and spending so much time with the benefits of electricity and the internet. Every time I read an Amish story I’m reminded of how privileged I am and I shouldn’t take advantage of it.

This sweet romance story brought me personal realizations of selfishness. The main characters seem to both be selfish in their own situations. It’s always the other that’s selfish. Isn’t selfishness difficult to realize in ourselves? The way these characters treat others and how they carry themselves helped me to pay closer attention to my own words and actions.

One issue I had with this story was that the main characters seemed to rush from feeling the other is selfish to suddenly ready for marriage. There wasn’t much of a transition that either felt their God and family should come before themselves. It seemed rushed to go from wanting what makes them happy to getting married. Otherwise, this is a lovely story.

A digital copy of The Blended Quilt by Jean Brunstetter & Wanda E. Brunstetter was provided complimentary by Barbour Publishing, Inc. via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I give this book four our of five stars because of the self-reflection I found myself doing and the fact that the two main characters didn’t seem to be ready for marriage just yet.

Another great story written by Wanda Brunstetter and her daughter-in-law, Jean Brunstetter. This book is more about Sadie Kuhns. Sadie thought she knew what life had in store for her until something unexpected happened.

Sadie questions the choices she made. Who doesn't do that? Some decisions we make quickly. Some are difficult to make and it takes a lot of time. What we usually don't do is PRAY to GOD before we make any decision. Throughout the book prayer was the first thing that Sadie and other characters did when they were troubled, needed to make a decision and even when they were thankful.

I always enjoy books about the Amish. It is appealing to people who are not Amish. We live such hectic lives.

I wasn't too sure where Sadie was headed. But she had a level head on her shoulders, the support of her family and God guiding her along the way.

I received this book from the author/publisher for free to review.

"The Blended Quilt" is the continuing story of Sadie, one of four Amish friends who enjoyed a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands. I loved this story, although it took me a little to get into the story at first. I liked how the story went into the feelings of envy and jealousy of her family, as well as, Sadie's own feelings after her inheritance was awarded. I liked how Sadie set her own path and followed her dreams mixing what she loves with her experiences in Hawaii. I also enjoyed how the rocky romance didn't fully come full circle until the very end.

I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher and netgalley in return for my honest opinion.

“I have learned that whatsoever state I am in, therewith to be content. Philippians 4:11”

Wanda Brunstetter is one of my favorite Amish fiction writers, I always look forward to reading her books. For me, The Blended Quilt was a delightful read and blended two beautiful & differing Amish communities into one quilt. The end result of Sadie's work was exquisite just from the authors description!

What I really loved was how the above scripture set the tone for this story. Both Sadie & Wyman struggled to find contentment in the ordinary & every day stuff—ie: jobs, money, material things. They were both looking for outside things to satisfy them, when in reality, God was calling them to find joy in what He had already given them. I think when we try to find our satisfaction in every day things, we often miss what's right in front of us....the importance of family, friends, community, love & real joy that's deeper than anything we can gain. They learned this lesson as the story played out. I really enjoyed watching their character growth in how they changed & matured.

I liked getting to know the other characters in this story as well; each one struggled with their own problems and came to grips with what really matters in the end. They often reminded each other of the importance of praying for God's direction in their decisions and supporting each other in hard times. That's one thing I especially love in the Amish families, how they pull together when a need arises & help each other through it. Wyman and Sadie certainly stepped up to be there for their families when the time came, I rejoiced in watching it!

If you like Amish fiction, I recommend this timeless story of family, community, seeking God's direction, and the importance of true contentment. You can count on Brunstetter to write a faith-filled story and bring this genre to life!

I never hesitate to read a book by one of the Brunstetters. They are always excellent stories based on faith and family. The Blended Quilt continues in this tradition.

As a young woman of Amish faith, Sadie has planned for her future since she was very young. A trip to Hawaii with friends has left her with so many good memories that she incorporates Hawaiian patterns into her traditional Amish quilt patterns. Sadie must make some decisions on her future, trusting in her faith to guide her. A beautiful story of a life we only see from the outside. Another 5 star read by the Brunstetters.

The Blended Quilt is book four in the Amish Hawaiian Series by Wanda E. and Jean Brunstetter. Sadie and Wyman have been in a relationship for some time but he is not able to commit to her. Sadie ends the courtship to allow him to find an occupation that will allow him to support a family. During this separation she designs a beautiful quilt and is encouraged to write a quilting book. Just as Wyman settles into a job, Sadie receives an inheritance that allows her to pursue a dream. This take up so much of her time, now she is the one not focusing on their relationship.
This is a wonderful story in which the authors blend their writing talents to write a story of how important it is to have patience and faith in a relationship and strong family devotion. I enjoyed being able to read about Sadie and her friends again. This story is well written and gives good introduction to the characters, making it a good stand alone story. But the whole series is just as good, and I recommend reading them all in order to get the whole story.
I received an ebook copy of this book from Barbour Publishing through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

So many of us feel that while we're doing the right thing by getting absorbed in our work, beliefs, and other busyness, but when we are neglectful of our other responsibilities, or ignoring loved ones, we must make changes. I've been guilty of some of this and until I repented and changed, I didn't feel peace. In this book, Sadie Kuhns did exactly this sort of thing.
Starting out, she wanted marriage and a family and felt like her boyfriend was never going to ask her to marry him. She decided to make a unique quilt to occupy her time by creating her own design incorporating Amish and Hawaiian designs. After encouragement from others, she wrote a book about her one of a kind, a beautiful creation!
She knew she couldn't afford to self-publish. Her aunt passed and left her a huge inheritance so Sadie was able to quit her job and concentrate on her book.
Her boyfriend, Wyman, grew jealous and neglected from her lack of time spent with him and he pulled away from her, especially when she started traveling to different states to promote her book. This is a very interesting story that included surprises.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Blended Quilt.I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

The Blended Quilt is another wonderful tale by Wanda E. Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter. I love the stories written by this duo and this one does not disappoint. I thought this was a beautifully written read. I enjoyed getting to know on Sadie from the start. It was great watching her grow throughout the book.
I am giving The Blended Quilt a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy Amish Fiction.

I received The Blended Quilt from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

The Blended Quilt (and actually, the entire trilogy) is a little different from most Amish books in that Hawaii played a huge part. I loved it. I loved getting the Amish perspective on something that is out of reach for many. I also loved that Sadie was able to pursue a dream that was outside marriage and family. Envy played a huge role in this book and the Scripture included in the story are a good reminder to all of us. The only person I was not really crazy about was Wyman. He jumped from job to job, ready to quit at any given moment. He never really thought about his lack of encouragement towards Sadie’s dream, only that she wasn’t paying attention to him. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. This story can be read as a standalone, but I would encourage you to read the first two in the trilogy if you haven’t already. I am a huge fan of the Brunstetters and I highly recommend The Blended Quilt. Thank you to Netgalley and Barbour Publishing. All opinions expressed are my own.

In Middlebury, Indiana, Sadie Kuhns daydreams about the trip she and four girlfriends made to Hawaii a couple years ago. She decides to make a unique blended quilt to represent her Amish heritage and her trip to these beautiful islands. She also daydreams about her relationship with Wyman Kaufman. They’ve been courting for quite some time now, but Wyman can’t seem to stick with one job for very long. If he doesn’t like the work, he quits and moves on to something else. How could he ever support a wife and family? His job at his father’s feed store seems perfect to Sadie, but she soon learns, (however, not from Wyman himself) that he has quit that one too. She becomes very upset with Wyman and tells him he will have to stick with a job and prove himself to be more responsible before she will continue to see him.

During their hiatus, Sadie is encouraged by a friend to write a book about her beautiful blended quilt she has designed and completed. Sadie becomes totally engaged in the writing, printing and promoting of the book and does not encourage Wyman at all. He’s now found a job, although very low paying, and is determined to stick with it to win Sadie back. When an unexpected surprise drops in Sadie’s lap and a tragedy strikes Wyman’s family, both of their demeanors change. Can they ever get back together and become a couple?

Jean and Wanda Brunstetter are a mother / daughter author team who bring us a charming, inspirational story about the difficulty of relationships and being content with your life in THE BLENDED QUILT. Sadie and Wyman are very realistic characters who are strong in their convictions, although flawed in some ways. They are surrounded by a plethora for supporting characters who are not always as supporting as they would like. The story line moves along methodically, with several side trips to other characters’ challenges and experiences. These side trips emphasize some of the main issues Sadie and Wyman are facing with the way we handle grief and the importance of helping others. THE BLENDED QUILT is a touching Amish story you’ll want to pick up and read.

The Blended Quilt by Wanda Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter is another delightful book by a favorite author and her daughter-in-law. I enjoyed the return of Sadie and her friends who readers were introduced to in The Hawaiian Quilt. Sadie has settled back home after the memorable trip to Hawaii and now is contemplating writing a book about Amish and Hawaiian quilts. She encounters pushback from Wyman, the man who wants to court her and her sisters too. The Brunstetter authors have put together an interesting and contemporary look at the Amish as Sadie branches out from the traditional Amish female role. The main characters have depth and reality and their emotions, strengths, and foibles resonate well with readers. I did have a bit of a hard time with Wyman and his seemingly selfish outlook on Sadie and his relationship, but all ends well! At the end of the book, the authors have included a recipe and discussion questions. I do wish they had included the pattern for the Blended Quilt!! All in all, The Blended Quilt is not just another ho-hum novel about the Amish...it is one that reminds readers about the importance of family, faith, and hope.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions are my own.

I have long been a fan of the Brunstetter novels. This book will not disappoint. It blends both the Amish and English world through quilts. The quilt tells a story, to its maker and hopefully to the ones who enjoy it. After having been to Hawaii, Sadie decides to incorporate the Amish and Hawaiian culture through one of her quilts.

Sadie is going through a trying time, with Wyman....the one that Sadie thought was going to be the man of her dreams. However, Wyman seems to have commitment issues.....with Sadie, with his job, and life in general. When Sadie is provided an inheritance, from her aunt, many areas of her life change....but will they be for the better, or the worse?

Follow Sadie's journey to come to a place of peace, contentment and love of life. This journey will take unusual twists and turns, but will prove to be very satisfying to the reader! Sit back and enjoy the story, as the pages fly by!

I loved this book!! Love this series!! Pretty cool she wrote a book about quilts!! Love this author's books!!

I have loved every book in this series. Each one fills me with joy and comfort. I feel as if Sadie and her family have invited me into their home to visit. The author has a way that makes me wish this was a real family and we could be friends. I would love to sit and eat dinner with them, join them at church services and be part of their nightly Devotionals.

Sadie is not content with her relationship with Wyman. He flitters from job to job and that makes her have doubts . How can she marry someone who doesn’t have a steady job? I enjoyed reading how they try to work things out but they do not see eye to eye on things.

When an unexpected inheritance comes to Sadie, her dream of writing a book seems possible to achieve now. I loved reading how she incorporates Hawaiian designs with Amish designs to make beautiful quilts. The book offers a variety of styles along with facts about Hawaii. I would definitely purchase her book. Not everyone in the family is happy that Sadie inherited so much money. After all her sisters didn’t get anywhere near the amount Sadie did. The author examines how jealousy can cause friction among friends and families.

I really enjoyed how the family realizes they need to be happy for Sadie and encourage her as she publishes her book. There is a little conflict in the story between a married couple that I found to be quite interesting, The Amish deal with similar issues as we do and money seemed to be one of the big problems between this husband and wife. I liked how the author had them seek a Christian counselor for help. At times I though the wife was bitter and allowed her anger to push her husband away.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the turmoil Sadie had as she started to become famous due to her book. She has less time to help with chores and her relationship with Wyman suffers as well. Is pride getting in her way? The author demonstrates how important prayer is and supporting each other in time of need. Sadie is surrounded by Godly people who along with God’s guidance make decisions that will honor Him. Do Sadie and Wyman reconcile and get married? You have to read the book to find out.

The Blended Quilt by Jean Brunstetter and Wanda Brunstetter is an easy to read Amish romance. It features Sadie from The Hawaiian Quilt. I had not read the previous story but that was not a problem as I was able to follow along with no problems.
Sadie works on designing a quilt blending an Amish traditional quilt and a Hawaiian style. While doing the quilt she begins wondering about her romance with her boyfriend, Wyman and if he is truly the one for her. She also writes a book on quilting that takes her out of her comfort zone, going on book tours and signings. And on top of everything, she inherits the majority of her aunt's estate making her a millionaire. She wants Wyman to step up and grow up but he feels threaten by her new found independence.
The story has likeable characters. Sometimes, a few can show the Amish can have envious feelings like the English. It is well written and is hard to put down. My only negative is the ending seemed very rushed and thrown together.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Barbour Publishing for an honest review.

I found it hard to put this down. A story about an Amish couple in love, navigating different things happening in their life and soon realize that if they put aside their selfish traits, they can make their relationship work.

The story of young Amish woman Sadie Kuhns and her quest to find love and independence in her life was a unique and uplifting story. She decides that the young man who is courting her, Wyman Kauffman, doesn’t really have an aim in his life, so he is not for her. Honestly, he was a very weak character who thought that flitting from job to job and borrowing money from his brother was the way to go in his life. Fortunately, Sadie saw right through his proclamations in love and decided to break it off with him. She dedicated herself to creating a unique quilt that combined her Amish heritage and her new found love for the Hawaiian islands that she visited. Her independent spirit is an anomaly in Amish fiction and I was delighted to read her story. The characters in the story were wonderful and very human. I enjoyed seeing the family support and love that held up Katie in her quest for love and a place in her world. Fans of Christian/Amish fiction will totally fall in love with this clean read!

Sadie Kuhns has not felt the same since she took her Hawaiian vacation with her friends. They seem to have found happiness and moved forward. However, Sadie's life seems to be at a stand still. Her relationship with Wyman Kauffman isn't moving anywhere and her job and home life stays the same. When she decides to create a new quilt pattern and write a self published book, Sadie feels like she is finally starting to live. However, what she doesn't count on is how others will react and how much of her time will be spent in her new life. Is this life worth it? Will Sadie stay or go? Jean and Wanda Brunstetter created a series that I have enjoyed following. Their characters have been well developed and ones that a reader can relate. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

I loved this story very much. This story of Sadie and Wyman who each have their own problems. Wyman is not content in any job which causes conflict with Sadie. Sadie decides to write a quilt book which monopolizes all her time and frustrates Wyman. One story that show how conflict brings happy endings and a few surprises in between.

This is a wonderful Amish fiction book.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both Sadie Kuhns and Wyman Kaufman. They each have some personal problems that they need to work through. At the same time they are trying to figure out how to make a relationship with each other work.

The biggest question that they had to work out individually was sorting out their own priorities. Once they had that answered then they just needed to make each decision they were faced with based on that answer. This is a universal question that everyone has to deal with. I loved watching their growth as they processed it and figured out what mattered most in their lives.

They each have a number of people surrounding them helping them grow. Some of them were only providing listening ears as they wrestled with their problems. I loved seeing the variety of people that were supporting them even while dealing with their own problems. This is truly what being part of a community is all about.

The Blended Quilt was a beautiful mix of Amish and Hawaiian. I enjoyed how Sadie designed and put it together. Her life had a few tough spots as she worked it all out and trying to write a book too! She was just too busy for her friends and family. Great ending!

Great book! Every time I read one of her books I’m never disappointed. Her books are books that you can forget about the struggles of life and just read and forget about everything. I would highly recommend.

Sadie Kuhns and Wyman Kauffman have been courting for awhile. However, when Wyman was not forth coming on a decision that would affect their future together, Sadie knows that it might be best if they broke up until Wyman's priorities are more aligned with their future. They both love each other and know that a tough love must happen to make the changes they need to have a strong foundation. To set her mind off Wyman and their break up, Sadie turns to making a blended quilt which leads to a dream that is not reachable for the Amish. However, when a aunt passes away, her dreams turn into a nightmare.

Both Sadie and Wyman learn spiritual lessons of contentment. How contentment changes your priorities. What is interesting in their story they seem to flip. Distractions become key in their relationship and in their faith. Their families are supportive in learning this lesson along with what drives a community. You will be encouraged by what contentment means and how we live in contentment.

A Special thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

I love Wanda Brunstetter’s books, and she’s one of my favorite Amish authors. I liked several different aspects of this story: The Amish community that supports each other; the unusual storyline of Sadie being an author and the inheritance she receives; and the close relationship that Sadie shared with her mother. It was interesting following the choices that Sadie had to make about her “career” as an author and her desire to follow a traditional Amish lifestyle.

There was one drawback to this book for me: No matter how hard I tried, I never connected with Wyman, one of the main characters. I had a hard time accepting Sadie and Wyman as a couple. I kept waiting for someone that was a more compatible partner for Sadie to make an appearance in the book.

Despite this, I still enjoyed reading the book. There’s good lessons for us about putting others first and turning to God for His guidance in our lives. Sadie and Wyman might not be my favorite couple, but I’ll still be looking forward to reading Wanda Brunstetter’s next book.

I really enjoyed reading The Blended Quilt by Wanda E. Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter. I loved all the books in the series especially this one. I liked that the characters from the other series continued to be featured in each book with a little bit of how their every day life is. The main characters in this book is about Sadie Kuhns and Wyman Kauffman. Their relationship, disappointments with each other and learning to deal with their feelings with sudden changes in their life and how they overcame them. I really love the authors’ writing of this series and I was not disappointed with any of them. I couldn’t put it down when I started reading. I finished the book last month, so the review is kinda late. Better late than never. I’m always looking forward to reading more books from these authors. I do recommend this book.
