I absolutely loved Anne of Green Gables growing up and the joy that a young red headed girl named Anne can do to a small town. Girls can do it better then boys when it comes to farming and helping around the outdoors.
Wonderful, Wonderful read
As a fan of anything to do with Anne of Green Gables, I knew I would love this manga. I read it on my lunch break and laughed out loud at all of Anne's crazy antics. What a great manga and I hope this one will grab the attention of fans of manga and fans who love a GREAT classic story.
Manga Classics is a manga adaption of Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. It is so lovely to see the character turn into manga figures. I really loved to read the story in a manga style version. It is a must have for alle Anne of Green Gables fans.
As an avid fan of classics, I am very much aware that I am a fool for not reading Anne of Green Gables yet. This book has been around for years and I’ve done a terrible job of always trying to avoid it with no particular reason at all.
I’ve been on a reading slump for quite some time now and I decided to read a little bit of everything and while I’m browsing thorough Netgalley, I found this gem.
This book is perfect for those people who’s trying to get out of a reading slump or those who doesn’t have the energy to read an entire book of classics as of the moment. This manga version, which I believe is the only one, is a good 1 to 3 hour read (depends on how fast you read) and is perfect for those whose into manga.
I haven’t read the original Anne of Green Gables yet so I don’t have much to say but this book gives the idea on what’s inside the book in a very subtle manner.
I fell in love with Cordelia, the moment I first met her on the train station where Matthew picked her up. She was bubbly, talkative and a child whose imagination will take you places. Anne with an “E” is a very strong woman, being able to surpass everything she’s been through. I am deeply awed by how much her relationship with Marilla had grown over the past years that she’s with them and I am very much ecstatic on how much she was loved by both Matthew and Marilla.
I love her friendship with Diana and I loved every minute I spent with them both though we really have to make sure what drink little miss Anne will serve us. Their friendship is one of those worthy enough to treasure for a lifetime. They’ve been together through thick and thin, Diana being supportive of Anne and vice versa. Her rivalry with Gilbert is a healthy one. I know it sounds ridiculous and weird but for me it’s a healthy one because both Anne and Gilbert had managed to gain from it.
I love every bit of this book, every detail, every adventure. I love Green Gables, I would never ever give Green Gables up if ever Marilla decided sell it to me personally. Anyhow, I’m not going to deny that I ugly cried during the end of this book. It was bittersweet and I have this strong urge to hug everyone in the book, especially Matthew. Especially him.
The illustrations are superb and the details are top notch! As someone who’s been an avid fan of manga, this is something that I would keep in my bookshelf. It’s amazing! A++++++!
I will never ever forget this book and this now have a very special place in my heart; a place where it’ll be cherished forever. So I want to thank Netgalley and UDON Entertainment for this book. I would’ve missed this warm and wonderful feeling Anne Shirley of Green Gables had given me if it wasn’t for your generosity.
