Carter Wilson did an incredible job with When They Find Me! This book hooked me from the beginning, and I constantly wanted to read “just one more chapter” to see what would happen next.

Annie and her daughter Coral are forced into hiding after a devastating tragedy and eventually settle in a small Colorado town where everyone seems to have secrets. When a huge snowstorm hits and a family shows up at Annie’s home, the story takes a much darker turn. And let me just say… they aren’t who I expected them to be.

The tension was fantastic, and I was constantly trying to figure out who could be trusted. The multiple POVs and timelines worked really well and kept me piecing everything together.

I thought I had things figured out several times, but I did NOT see that twist coming! Carter Wilson did an amazing job dropping little breadcrumbs without giving too much away. When everything finally came together, I was completely caught off guard.

The characters were interesting and complicated, and I loved the themes of fear, trauma, survival, and how far someone will go to protect the people they love. The pacing was excellent, and the suspense kept building right up to the end.

And that ending! WOW. This was my first Carter Wilson book, but it definitely won’t be my last.

This book had me in a chokehold from start to finish!

What follows is a story of survival that will have your mouth hanging open as you try to take in every twist and turn! It was impossible to put this book down. (Although yes, I sometimes wanted to give Annie a shake!)

The vibes were impeccable with the isolated setting, stormy weather, and holiday background.

I highly recommend this one!

When They Find Me by Carter Wilson is the kind of thriller that starts with an intriguing setup and slowly tightens its grip until you realize you’re completely trapped inside the story.
Annie Wolfe has spent years hiding in the tiny, remote town of Expanse, Colorado, doing everything possible to keep herself and her daughter safe. But when a dangerous family arrives looking for someone they believe destroyed their lives, a mistake brings them directly to Annie’s door. What follows is a tense, increasingly desperate fight for survival as secrets from both the past and present begin to collide.
I expected a suspenseful thriller. I was not prepared for everything this book became.
The tension was incredible. There were chapters where I genuinely felt like I couldn’t read fast enough. Every time I thought I knew where things were going, something changed and raised the stakes again. The isolated setting, the snowstorm, the characters, the secrets, everything worked together to create this constant feeling that something terrible could happen at any moment.
But what made this a five-star read for me was that it was so much more than a thriller. Underneath all of that suspense is a deeply emotional story about grief, family, survival, guilt, control, and the things we do when reality becomes too painful to face.
And that final portion of the book absolutely broke me.
I can't remember the last time a thriller made me cry like this one did. There were moments when I had to stop reading because I was genuinely emotional, and once certain pieces fell into place, I found myself looking back at earlier parts of the story completely differently. The clues were there. I just didn't see them.
The ending was exactly what I needed too. Emotional, thoughtful, and satisfying without wrapping everything up too perfectly.
This was intense, heartbreaking, surprising, and incredibly difficult to put down. A thriller and so much more.
Definitely one of my standout reads.

You know those books that make you sit there staring at the wall, questioning EVERY SINGLE THING you thought you knew? YEAH. THIS IS THAT BOOK. 😭🔥

Carter Wilson, WHAT WAS THAT TWIST?! I NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU. Because I genuinely thought I was putting the pieces together, only to have the entire puzzle thrown at my face. 💀 The secrets, the revenge, the tension, the slow realization that NOTHING is quite what it seems… I WAS NOT READY.

And that ending?! My jaw is still somewhere on the floor. 🫠

But here's the thing… I'M NOT DONE YET. Because now I need to read Revelation to find out what led Alban to do what he did. WHAT happened to him? WHY did he make those choices? And will I ever look at this story the same way again once I know the full truth?! 👀

Apparently, I enjoy emotionally torturing myself with fictional people and their terrible secrets. 😂📚
