Description

It was their passion… that’s all people talked about.

True love… it’s complicated.

Madeline and Elliot's partnership was the envy of the dance floor. Their story, an unspoken truth. Star crossed lovers focusing all their emotions into their craft... like I said it was complicated.

Until the day, everything was taken away. Until they fell harder than ever before. It was always Elliot and Madeline, but now…

What would you do? Would you fight for true love?

If you're a fan of Helen Hardt or Sienna Parks you'll love this inspirational romance! Remember Me gives rare insight into the length people will go for true love.

It was their passion… that’s all people talked about.

True love… it’s complicated.

Madeline and Elliot's partnership was the envy of the dance floor. Their story, an unspoken truth. Star crossed...

Overall: real good (which is slightly lower than really good) I gave it 5 stars because the story is good despite my notes below.
Standalone story
A lot of angst and drama; little humor
Hero/Heroine: Elliott and Madaline - best friend dance partners
Storyline: Friends to 'finally' admitting love
Recommend: yes - it is a beautiful story
Personal Observation/notes: The story is beautiful and mostly told from Elliott's perspective in third person. The book could have used a final edit as there were some words (such as the, a, it) missing and in some of the more intense scenes, the wrong pronoun was used (such as 'he' when it should have been 'she'). If you can overlook these small errors, which I suspect that English is possibly not the author's native language, read this book; is is a lovely romance.

Mikael Lemieux brings us the story of two best friends Madeline and Elliot. This is a story of what happens when your best friend gets into an accident and doesn't remember you at all? Elliot cannot imagine a life where his best friend is not a part of it, where she did not take part in all the joyful and painful moments of his life. He remembers it all, but she cannot recall any of it. She may not remember him, but Elliot is determined to help her get back the memories they shared at the cost of their families and his girlfriend. Will Madeline remember their lives together or did something happen that made her want to forget Elliot altogether?

I enjoyed going on this journey with Madeline and Elliot. I look forward to reading more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this privilege.

I will be honest on this: I was drawn to this book because of the cover, but what really made me want to read it was the book description. I have always been drawn to ballroom dancing, so I was intrigued by this. Remember Me was not at all was I was anticipating. I was expecting a novel with the perspective of the main female character, Amanda, not the main male character, Eliot. The novel does include Amanda’s perspective throughout the novel at certain points, but it is mostly written from Eliot’s perspective. Eliot is a soulful character with a ton of complex emotions, but it bothered me throughout the novel that he seemed to have a blind eye to his true feelings about Ananda. Nevertheless, this novel managed to capture my attention, so much in fact that I read it in one night.

Amanda and Eliot have been dancing with each other for several years. Amanda is in love with Eliot and cannot bring herself to tell him, in fear of ruining their dancing relationship. Tragedy strikes and they have to piece the life they once had back together. The road that they take is not an easy one, with Eliot having to do a lot of the heavy lifting, but the few Amanda scenes are absolutely heartbreaking to read.

Beautifully written, emotional and soulful. Quick-easy read. Romance with drama. No ballroom dancing scenes.

Remember Me by Mikaël D. Lemieux is advanced copy reading provided by the publishers.

My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I'm rating this a 3.5 out of 5. I just couldn't buy the various misunderstandings and the reason for the distance between the two main characters. I'm not a fan of the "misunderstanding" and "sacrifice love for your career/art" tropes. Decently written, but not for me.
