Oh I so enjoyed this book I had to read it as soon as I got it and read it in one afternoon. The way that the different perspectives and timelines were told was intriguing. I did want to shake Lane as he was dominated by all three female characters.

This is a great read, not earth shattering but keeps you entertained.

I was given an advance copy by the publishers and net galley but the review is my own.

Nothing like families to bring out the worst in us at times. I really enjoyed the Sister-in -Law, great plot and characters that were well thought out. The relationship between Harper and Candace kept the story moving along at a fast pace and I was kept on my toes wondering who was the going to be the dark horse, in the end I was still surprised as to where the author took the story but this was done really well, This was a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her work as I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

It’s a sad truism that you don’t just marry a man, you marry his family too. Candace comes to that realization after her marriage to Lane brings her into the orbit of Lane’s sister Harper. Harper has been sharing a home with Lane since her husband’s death, and repays him by performing all the duties a wife (or a maid) would, cooking and cleaning and keeping house. It soon becomes obvious that Lane is going to have to choose between his new wife and his sister, because there is no way these two women can survive in one household

Harper has been through a lot and she has quite the secret she is holding on to. Fortunately, Harper has her brother to turn to, he is her best friend and her rock. Unfortunately, her brother has a new wife and Harper knows she is not the woman for him and she is determined to prove it. This is a very addicting thriller.

Intense, Electrifying, Dark and Pacey.
Harper Paris arrived home to find her husband, Benjamin Paris dead on the couch. Apparently he'd taken his own life. She called her brother, Linn Flynn who's a nurse to help her. They shared a special bond together and so he'd helped her to stage the crime scene as murder because she was really in need of the insurance money. Later she asked him to move in with him.
Harper met Candace, Lane's wife. Lane's got married and is claiming that they both love each other. Who's this Candace person really?
Harper has two children, Elise and Jackson and they both are grieving kids and they all are facing a tough time. And then the problems started.
Jackson is so convinced that there's a ghost lady in that house. Harper and Candace wanted to throw each other out from their lives. Lane's facing difficulties in choosing between them.
Lane and Harper's mom, Monica could do anything for her children to be happy. And she didn't like Ben and Candace.
And then a woman in their neighborhood in their old house found dead.
Had Ben really taken his life? Who's this Candace woman really? Who killed their neighbour?
Who will win Harper or Candace?
Read this intense, electrifying psychological thriller to know what happened next.
I loved the characters of Candace, Monica, Harper, Lane, Elise and Jackson. Other characters were good too but the main game was of Harper and Candace.
Narration of the story is mind blowing, smooth like a butter. I didn't remember actually when I start it. Excellent.
Author did her job well to create such captivating characters, flowing narration and a great plot.
I would definitely highly recommend it to everyone.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for giving me an advanced copy of this electrifying psychological thriller.

Had me hooked on the first page and kept me guessing until the end. Read it in a day because I needed to know what was going to happen next. First time reading a book by Pamela Crane but it won't be the last one.

This is my third read of a Pamela Crane novel and this novel continues the trend of exciting, entertaining reads. Full of suspense and really good characters, this is a real page turner.

Candace moves in with husband Lane after a brief romance and wedding but weeks into their marriage, Candace realises that moving in with Lane also means moving in with his possessive, uptight sister, Harper. Their perfect marriage cannot survive with all three of them. Harper is an old fashioned woman who believes in cooking homemade meals and regular cleaning and she feels it is only right given that Lane shared his home with her family since the mysterious death of her husband. Now with Candace asking questions he feels less than comfortable. Lane felt everything was in place to fulfil his family dreams but now that all seems in doubt with Harper showing her jealous streak. Torn between his sister and wife will not only end up in tears but could be far more costly.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Avon Books for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

A tight and twisted tale centring on families and their feuds. Some likeable characters and some not so! A story that takes you in from page 1. A thoroughly great read.

I have greatly enjoyed Pamela Crane’s books and this was definitely no different. It’s fast paced, riveting, and kept me flipping pages. Characters, while unlikeable, were well developed, which only furthered my interest in the story! Original and realistic! An unputdownable read that will be sure to bring you some fun thrills, chills, and shocks! Highly, highly recommend!

I finished this book in three sittings. It was good! I started off the novel thinking I knew exactly what was going to happen (yet still enjoying it thoroughly) - but I was not correct. It isn't often I'm wrong about knowing where a book is going! I appreciated this novel for numerous reasons; it's quick pace, straightforward characters and timeline (not much fluff to distract you), and it's ability to discount my assumptions. All may not be what it seems!

Wow this was quite entertaining! Siblings Harper and Lane are very close and will do anything for one another, even if it ruins his marriage. Harper is grieving the loss of her husband and is financially stressed having been a SAHM, she is anxiously waiting for her husband’s insurance policy to come through. Harper decides to rent out her house and moves into Lane’s place with her two kids. But wait Candace the new girlfriend is now Lane’s wife answers the door! After a short romance, Candace and Lane gets married without telling anyone. Candace gives off mean girl vibes, it’s a hot mess with everyone bickering, living in tight quarters, but I couldn’t put this down! This is quite twisty, a fun whodunnit to read in one sitting! Thank you to Avon Books UK, NetGalley, and the author for a gifted copy. This is my honest review.

I love a good book with shifting timelines and complicated characters, and Pamela Crane knows just how to create stories like that.

Very fun and thrilling read!

Lane meets Candace and within weeks, they’re in love and married. Candace is a free spirit, someone who seems to love life and love Lane, and the newlyweds seem perfectly suited. in fact, Candace seems the opposite of Lane’s siter, Harper, an uptight, constantly worried mother who is suffering following her husband’s mysterious death. The siblings are extremely close, so it’s only natural that Lane offers Candace and his niece and nephew somewhere safe and loving to stay while they battle their grief. But Harper borders on possessive with Lane – and it’s clear brother and sister have a secret that they have no desire to reveal. Can the new sisters-in-law try to get along, particularly as they’re living under one roof? Lane better hope that he doesn’t have to choose between his wife and his sister – and couldn’t predict how quickly their relationship would unravel. This nippy novel bounces back and forth predominantly between Candace and Harper, two women who should get along but can’t. It’s nicely paced and you are left wondering, frequently, who you really trust.

The Sister-in Law review

The Sister-in-Law by Pamela Crane is a story of intrigue until the very last page. I finished this book in only a few days, and found myself looking forward to picking it up again to continue the read.

Middle-aged Harper is the sister of Lane, a mother, and a recent widow. Her life is falling apart, having suffered the loss of one of her children and then soon after her husband in an apparent suicide.

Harper and her two children move into Lane’s house, where he is living with his wife of only a few weeks. A wife that Harper had no knowledge of, even though Harper and Lane are very close siblings.

The family dynamics are uneasy and there is animosity between the two women competing for Lane’s attention and affections.

As they saying goes… “you can choose your friends, but not your family!”

This book will be available in April 2021, and is an enjoyable read.

I thought the premise of this book sounded very intriguing so I was thrilled to be accepted to read and review it.

The book opened with a bang and whilst it didn't maintain the quick start throughout it definitely kept me interested with a dark storyline and plenty of twists!

I found it to be quite a quick read but that didn't take away the enjoyment and I absolutely loved the ending which I really didn't see coming.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me

This is my first Pamela Crane book and I really loved it!

Usually I guess the plot in thrillers but with this one I was totally lost. When I finish it I was like OH YES WAS A HINT THERE AND THERE however I while I was reading I did not figure out what was going on.

All the characters were suspects for me.

Thank NetGalley and Avon Books for my e-ARC I had a really nice time reading it.

Harper comes home to her husband Ben murdered or was it suicide ? Instead of calling the police she calls her brother Lane first. When you read the book you’ll understand why. 😁🤫

Cut too 6 weeks later , her brother is married to a woman Candace , who instantly doesn’t like his widowed sister and her two children and there front door step. And expresses it loudly and bluntly so. Harper needs somewhere to stay , the investigation is still ongoing. She can’t afford her home , and needs a place to stay.

Harper can’t stand Candace. Candace dislikes Harper and her children. Lane is stuck in the middle. The mother look suspicious. Candace has a crazy past Harper uncovers. Candace is pregnant. But is it Lanes. This book is packed with some crazy’s and its super fast paced with chapters told in different points of view

The point of it all , is who killed Ben? Your guess I hope was better than mine. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars from me.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the premise a lot but at the same time the story relied to much on trivialities to fill in the space between the story relevant scenes, making the pacing feel drawn out at times. I enjoyed Harper and Candace and how the friction between the too carried most of the tension in the story but also felt that some reactions and actions were more plot driven than natural to their character. Lane wasn’t as prominent as a POV character as I thought he would be however I understand that the story wasn’t as much about him as it was about Harper and Candace. All in all this was a solid 4 stars read.
